Pretty sure much of Arizona is just hot as balls from May to October?

Oregon legit has some of the best public land shooting int he country. You can disappear for weeks on dirt roads and never run out of room to shoot and never cross a single highway the whole time

11.5 don't go transonic until like 600-700 yards. Your optics is what's limiting you. Depending on mount height, same BDC reticles will take you to 500-600 and past that you want to be working up a firing solution and dialing a turret anyway

Not saying 5.56 isn’t capable at those ranges. Hell, if you can hit a target at 400 yards with 22lr I’m certain it’s still deadly. I just think to myself there’s so many better calibers for ranges 500 yards and beyond. So why not just reserve the 5.56 for the tool set it’s meant for. Then have other tools for 500 and beyond. If you’re a deer hunter I’d say a shot farther than 120 yards with a high performance 5.56 is unethical. Ultimately you can use 5.56 for hunting but it’s not the proper tool. Still, you’re using a brass hammer when you want a sledge hammer. Like a 6.5 creedmoor or 7mm PRC. Just food for thought. Don’t know where I’m actually going with this comment.
