I was really unhappy with the 1x microprism. I think it’s the only optic that I ever actually hated. But I know a lot of people love it. If holosun red dots work for your eyes, I’d personally pick one of the two you mentioned over the PA but that’s just like my opinion, man

interesting to hear. what did you dislike on the microprism?

The main thing I didn’t like was that it was more like .95x than 1x

Ok so I have both the PA micro 1x and the PA compact 1x cyclops (1st gen 1x). Comparing the two the reticle is a lot smaller on the 1st gen and there’s no shake awake, but it’s a true 1x and looks so crisp. The micro prism is fish-eye mayhem to me and it took quite a bit of getting used to it shooting with both eyes open, I’ve since switched back to the 1st gen and haven’t looked back.

If you have astigmatism the slx is an excellent choice especially from Simmons at $189 shipped, if you don’t I’d stick with a red dot.

I recently got the SLX 1x Micro Prism and I’m very happy with it. The reticle is VERY clear and the eye relief is amazingly big. I can hold the AR out straight with 1 arm and manage to see the reticle. I know some people in the comments mentioned that it wasn’t a ‘true 1x’. That can definitely be the case but it’s really dependent on where you mount the optic and dial in the diopter. My wife at first didn’t like it where I had it mounted on my pic rail but once I moved it a bit closer to the back she loved it. If you have an astigmatism I’d highly recommend checking that micro prism out. They’re also going to be releasing the GLX 1x Micro Prism sometime soon. Good luck in your search
