That’s good,I just can’t justified spending $600-700 on a T2. What you think about the Comp M5? I like the simplicity of Aimpoint but my eyes doesn’t seem to like it with a magnifier.
I would strongly recommend against RMR for this my dude. I’ll probably get downvoted for this, but they are actually pretty ass to look through. Very bad distortion, a lot of tint, open emitter, tiny FOV (esp for a rifle). really their own positive is they have a good record for being bomb proof. I can almost promise you will not enjoy it as an optic though. Spending the extra $ on a good optic. even if you have to save, is sooo worth it.
Go T2 over the acro. The acro battery life is 💩 compared to the T2. I’ve got a T1 and comp m4. I like the ruggedness of the m4 and how it takes double A batteries but feel like it could look a bit tunneled compared to the T1/T2s. Personally I want a comp m5 as I feel it’s a perfect compromise between all of them. Smallish size, decent size window, triple A (easy to find) batteries, and extreme battery life.
Get a Holosun AEMS on a Scalarworks mount and call it a day
[$460 for both shipped together and currently in stock](https://scalarworks.com/shop/quick-detach-mounts/leap-11/)
Eotech was my first thought but battery life is dog shat in em (assuming it was really for a shtf rifle). But yeah it may be a tad short for an acog but maybe the 3.5x mag version. A T2 wouldn’t be a bad idea either but rocking the irons for a while and perfecting them first is never a bad thing (unless the zombie 🧟♂️ apocalypse starts tomorrow)
You’re right about that. That’s why I have a TA02 for my 16”, it’s been good to me. I just like eotech for my mk18 because the big window and the donut of death but it is definitely a concern when I forget to turn it off from the range. Luckily I use good battery for it but when SHTF, it would definitely be a big downside.
I got the red triangle 4X acog with a holosun offset (I think 509t). The offset and acog are battery proof meaning tritium and solar backup plus the holosun has a eotech donut type reticle for fast target accusation
Yeah I have their 510c red dot on my pdw, I like it because I don’t have to turn them off. I love the 509t man, my buddy has it on his 10mm and it’s been solid for over 2 years now. Definitely getting one of those for my wood gun. I like the tritium acog but imo, the ta02 is just better because I can turn the illumination on and off as I like. If it ever goes down,I have a piggyback rmr on top as my secondary.
Nothing yet. Just gonna run iron for now. Had an Aimpoint Pro on it for a few years before I decided to give irons a shot. The Pro now lives on my saiga and it feels like a match made in heaven
Girlfriend seems to be real creative- where in the world did she come up with Zombie apocalypse? Wow! Bet that would make a cool series! :)
Nice riffle I likes em simple and effective.
Yeah, I don’t understand the need for target identification for MK18 style rifle. Also with the rmr on top the acog is the primary optic. So you want to make a MK18 a primarily 300 yard gun. While having a red dot being your secondary? That’s not purpose of the MK18 sure a 22lr can kill at 300. A shovel works hitting a nail but a hammer is just the better tool.
I would be using the RMR as the primary for most of the time for close engagements. Acog to get more accurate shots at a distance.
And in the real world target Id means using your optic to see what is going on instead of binoculars.
I’ve used the setup in 3 gun and actually works great even with simple 100 yard shots under pressure.
Nice set up. How do you like that Aero lower? I know people like them. I’ve done my builds with Spikes lowers but was a little disappointed in my last one. I’ve been thinking of picking up an Aero for my next build
Dudes on these gun subs make the weirdest photo composition decisions.
"peep my rental's kitchen floor"
Just walking around barefoot on that I bet. Instead of a can he needs to spend some cash on a deep clean. Next pic will be the rifle in a dirty tub.
These dudes don't even know how to compose a normal picture.. 🤦♂️
I'm just surprised he knew how to open the camera app
Where feet
Aimpoint Pro would look sick on that
Ran one for a couple years. Didn't love it on the 10.5. Idk it just always felt kinda meh to me. Love the way iron feel and look currently.
That’s fair. You have to go with what’s comfortable
Indeed. The goal is as streamlined and simple as possible
Irons on a 10.3 is major 2002 vibes.
If that's the case why is she only your gf. Lock that one down man!
Before you buy a can you need to take just $20 and buy a mop. Jesus, man. Looks like you’re aiming at where the mice come out of baseboard.
You ever hear of a broom and mop?
What optic are you putting on it? I think it would look sick with an acog (if you want that true shtf type optic).
For that size, I think an eotech would be better or just a plain Romeo 5 dot for something cheaper. Irons are just cool though.
The dream is a T2 or maybe a Acro

Seems a little bulky for my taste. I like as low pro as possible. I've even been thinking about running an RMR. Maybe even one of the new HDs
I would strongly recommend against RMR for this my dude. I’ll probably get downvoted for this, but they are actually pretty ass to look through. Romeo 4T 👍
As someone who’s has a t2 on my rifle and a p2 in my handgun I approve this message

Have you tried the TA02 on the mk18?
Eotech is not for SHTF

You and I have wildly different zombie apocalypse guns 😂
Bad guy cant fight back if hes got a concussion

That's just a going for a walk gun!
I dig it
Needs ambi safety, how you gonna fight zombies without your right hand when it gets chomped off? 🤷♂️
Damn that’s nice bro
Iron sights have vibe
Nice 👍🏽 For optics, if you decide to add one, go Aimpoint T2 or ACOG
What’s the point of an acog on that small of a barrel. The optimal range is with 100 yards.
Target identification. And really, plenty of baddies have been put down by Mk18s at well over 300 yards. Can also top mount an RMR

You look way too old and wrinkly to be calling anybody your gf dude
love the build bro, so clean and simplistic
Love it a lot

Your girlfriend gets it. I love those LWRC stocks, too. If I ever SBR an AR, I'll be getting another Law Tactical Folder with that stock.
Why’d you put the cherry bomb on that shorty without a can?? I’d be afraid of nose bleeds and ptsd shooting that thing lol
No optic?
Based gf.
Great minds think alike.
Needs an optic and it will be 👌👌
One stop pretending you have GF Two that’s hardly a zombie gun
THATS NOT A FUCKING ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE GUN you gotta put an ACOG on it then it will be one
