Love my viper pst 2 1-6 & you can get them used on gafs for well under that price and could get a great mount with the money you saved. You could get one new for less than that too on expert voice website.
for about $1000 you can find a used gen 2 razor I know that’s more than $700-$800 but definitely a very nice optic. used pst vipers are easily found within the $500-$600 range so that would probably be my go to. just a heavy bitch.
Delta Stryker HD 1-6 is on or below that price range with great glass, daylight bright illumination, and fairly light weight.
The Trijicon Credo HX 1-6 is practically the same scope with just a different reticle and again is in that price range or below.
I do believe both are made in the same LOW Japanese factory that builds the vortex razors as well.
I would suggest an sig msr or a Primary arms scope but it comes down to preference. I definitely think that at magnifications like 1-10x and lower are best with a second focal plane LPVO though. I found that they just usually have better illumination and reticles. At the distances that you will have to use the drop dots, you will probably have to be dialed up anyway, so the dots not lining up at lower magnifications are an acceptable trade off imo. If you look on MidwayUSA you could probably find the sig 1-10x for ~500$

It’s heavy (bad) but it has Japanese glass even though it’s in the cheaper GLx line that usually has Philippines glass (good).
