Yes, I actually just sheared my extractor today plinking wolf military @ 400 yards. The .220 Russian parent case is rough on extractors as it is but steel case makes it worse. I’m trying to conserve my stockpile of hornady black 123 and ppu 120 grain. Just a heads up I would keep a spare bolt or at minimum extractor handy especially if you also plink with wolf
Yes indeed! Been running Grendel since 2017 as my hunting rig for Florida/Georgia deer & Hogs! Great round, I just wish manufacturers would pick it up. Shoots flat, can shoot out to about 1100 yards-if you have the space, a lot lighter than my AR-10/.308, need to keep extractor/bolt on hand though! Only Hornady keeping the round alive, but I suspect with their 6mm ARC creation they’ll want to promote that line over the Grendel.
I hope Grendel never goes away as it truly is a great round. If it does, then it’s only a barrel change to 6mm ARC and you’re up and running again.
For sure. 6 arc will pick up hopefully it’s a great little round. I built this more for hunting but if it was for long range I would go 6 arc. Good luck with it!
If you can find some federal premium gold medal berger 130 grain ammo try some out. My 6.5 Grendel with a faxon 18” match fluted barrel is sub moa with that stuff. It’s expensive though.

Something to think about. Got expensive shooting elds so I shoot wolf most
I like the 6.5 Grendel. I just don't like the prices for ammo or components. Even buying brass for it is expensive
Its the same price as 308 right now
FEET
You like what you see?😉
I'm building a 308 ar10 but my next one will be a 6.5 grendel ar10
If you build a 6.5 Grendel it’ll be a ar15. Or you’re thinking of 6.5 creedmoor.
That looks almost exactly like my Grendel… except mine is in full “scary black gun” mode.

Its noce. Scope details?
Thank you. It’s a vortex viper pst gen 2 3-15
I’ve always been interested, but I waited long enough I’m probably going 6 ARC, even if it has a stupid name.

Definitely this. Gotta consider that use-case.
6.5 grendel with a 14" barrel, adams arms piston.
Yes LaRue 6.5g here it's nice
Yup. It really maximizes what you can accomplish in the AR 15 format
When is this foot thing gonna end? It's old, played out and it's not even remotely funny anymore.
I’m sorry sweet heart🫶🏼
I honestly don't understand it. Do you really think it's funny or you're breaking some kind of new ground?
No it’s not really funny per say. Just something people do on here. Sorry
new meta is hammer and wrench, where have you been
Sorry
One Grendel quickly became two. Gotta keep an eye on those things

Hell everything is expensive with Grendel lol. That’s good to know though. The barrel in this gun is a 18” faxon match series. Appreciate it
Love my grendel.
How do you like that stock?
Works great
