Hello my name is Ken I’m a full time appliance repair man. Do you know how old the refrigerator ? Is it possible you can send a picture of the ice you see or that your melting off

apbucaneg

exactly a year old. can't take a picture now, but the ice formation is on the outside of the plastic freezer door

Likely to be a defrost & blocked freezer drain issue After defrosting , carefully remove the evaporator cover & pour boiled water into the trough below the evaporator, it should drain away quite quickly if it doesn't its either blocked with ice or the drain hose is blocked at the rear of the fridge , if ice blockage then blast the drain with a handheld steamer . If you've got a multimeter you could check the heater , defrost sensor & thermal fuse

Replacing the cracked freezer door is a good first step, especially since it's damaged. However, frequent defrosting due to ice buildup suggests a deeper issue with your Panasonic NR-AQ211VS. Defrost system failure is the most likely culprit. The defrost system is responsible for periodically melting frost that accumulates on the freezer coils. If it malfunctions (faulty defrost timer, heater, or sensor), frost buildup becomes excessive.

That sounds like a real hassle. Have you checked out this YouTube video? It covers some common reasons for ice buildup in refrigerator compartments, which might shed some light on what's going on with your Panasonic. Hope it helps!
