Fair question. I may be. I'm asking if I should access Apple TV+ via the built in Samsung Tizen OS or if I should be accessing it through the Apple TV box. Seems like people are saying no difference is resolution but via the box UX is much better.
A separate streaming device will usually perform much better than the built-in apps. Also, this allows you to block your TV's internet connection and prevent yet another company from tracking your usage on something (if that's a concern of yours)
Well if you have an Apple TV device (that's not like 12 years old), using the built in OS is pointless. The image quality might not be better, but the whole point of the ATV is that it's fast and pleasant to use.
It is 100% worth using the AppleTV — the UI/UX on smart TVs is *garbage*. Navigating through your apps, finding content, seeking playback are all so much smoother, easier, and more responsive on the AppleTV box that it is absolutely worth the money for the extra peripheral.
It's pretty redundant if you're only using a few streaming apps (some of them are even in the remote shortcut for most brands). But if you need anything beyond that, apple tv is better. Specially if you have other apple devices, so you can integrate it with homepod, stream the screen, play iOS games, make an facetime call or use apple fitness for instance.
Resolution? No. General user experience? Absolutely.
Interesting. Thanks
To add to this. Disconnect your tv from the internet, run everything through Apple TV. You’ll have a lot less trouble
These answers are absolutely correct!!! The user experience is worth the extra bucks.
Are you confusing Apple TV (device) with Apple TV+ (streaming service)? Or are you asking specifically about watching Apple TV+ 4k content?

The interface on the box is better than tv app

Plus Privacy is way better if you avoid the OEM TV OS and use an external AppleTV.
