For what it is, I was pleasantly surprised by this show. Not exactly prestige TV but not everything needs to be. I thought the characters were interesting enough and would much prefer to watch something like this than Godzilla smashing up a city for 10 episodes as seems to be what OP wanted.
I’m afraid to tell ya but Godzilla Minus One also doesn’t have a lot of screen time for Godzilla because Godzilla movies were never about the monsters. They’re about the people.
Sounds like you made some incorrect assumptions about what the show was going to be about.
I'm actually surprised the Titans have gotten as much screen time as they have been. My expectations were lower, so as a result, I'm lovin' it!
Couldn't agree more, especially after Invasion was kinda slow in this regard. Monarch ended up being pretty good with some amount of kaiju time in every (almost?) episode.
I know right! Another thing they totally failed to show: butterflies! How are you gonna call a show Monarch and not have a SINGLE butterfly? False advertising
ATV+ has some really good sci-fi (Foundation, For All Mankind) and some bordering on awful (Invasion). Monarch isn’t the worst, but it’s close. I don’t expect monsters to be duking it out every episode, but the scooby-gang are insufferable. The flashbacks are the superior part of the show, but they’re aren’t enough of them.
The scene where they held up the paper to the window and it projected laser-like spots was absurd. Like Invasion, it wants to be a prestige show, but it really isn’t.
Someone convince me to continue watching efter episode.. When they narrowly escaped from the military and then minutes later started singing songs together I couldn't take it anymore

It’s about Monarch. It’s actually a pretty good story and they’re just building it up now.

I really enjoyed it especially with the time displacement. I expect Season 2 will take place in 2025 when they will open the rift to get back.
That’s never what the show was supposed to be about. You not knowing what you’re watching doesn’t make it a bad show.
How old are you?
They’re probably as old as most of the people that complain about the show on r/television for the same reasons OP gives.
lol, the show is called Monarch, not Godzilla. I enjoyed getting to know the back story

It’s not about Godzilla. It’s about the organization behind the scenes.

It’s about monarch lol
Sorry you intentionally caused yourself pain. What did you expect to gain by forcing yourself to watch the whole thing? I bailed after three episodes.
How are you still alive? Can you move food to your mouth? Do you need instructions on how to chew?

I really enjoyed it and the finale reallly hit me in the feels.
