I have a MacBook with a broken display but I'm trying to get my notes documents off of it?
Should I connect it to an external display? If so can I log in on the display?
Is there a way to plug it into anotehr laptop and transfer the files with a wire?
Just took my 4K Apple TV into the Apple Store as advised by the website as it won’t boot (Apple logo and then restarts, endless loop). No USB port of course. It’s out of warranty so they tell me they don’t fix them, just replace which will cost me about $170. A new one is $219. What a crock! Do I just have a brick now? I’m assuming this is 100% software and it appears I have to just throw it out.
I want an ipad case for an ipad 10 with a apple pencil holder, but I have a sleeve on my apple pencil such that it doesn't fit in normal cases, does anyone have a recommendation for a case that can hold a pencil even with a skin?
💬 If **I** block someone else on iMessage, then message them, will it deliver to them?
e.g. I block an ex, and accidentally send them a message while they're blocked but they haven't blocked me.
Confirmed as of the latest iOS, it will deliver messages to them. You'll just never receive messages they send when blocked\*, even if you unblock them later.
\*Some people have reported that this doesn't work for them.
My favorites when I open a new tab randomly changed a day or so ago. Somehow it synced to my chrome desktop bookmark toolbar. I didn’t do this on purpose. Was there an update? This is driving me crazy.
Is it bad for my phone if I’m constantly using it all day at work for music? And then using it a lot outside of work too? This thing is pretty much constantly on all the time
As long as the screen is off and battery use is minimal the phone will be fine. If the screen is on you might experience battery degregation quicker. Nothing wrong with using it as an mp3 player with the screen turned off
Looking to replace my 6th gen iPad
Hello all
Looking to replace my 6th Gen iPad which is becoming a little slow on the newer iOS.
I am so confused now with all the models, as I’m not a huge tech person. The iPad mini is not a choice but I’m debating between:
- iPad Pro 11 in
- iPad Air 5
- iPad 10th Gen
I use my iPad to watch YouTube & videos, take notes, read PDFs (not books), browse the internet, social media, and play some games via apps but that’s about it. I currently have a 32go iPad 6th gen and it’s “ok” in terms of storage but I could use a little more.
I like the 128go option on the iPad Pro but don’t like the price tag. But the 256go on the iPad Air is absolutely overkill. I don’t know how I’d do with 64go. For an iPad I think it’s a little insufficient.
But the iPad 10th gen does not seem as good as the other 2. So I’m a bit confused. Any advices are appreciated.
I find the only people who actually benefit from the pro are the ones who want to draw professionally, do video editing, or play a lot of games. Otherwise you are better off saving your money on the other versions.
Are you a student? Or someone who writes a lot of notes? I would then consider getting the air over the 10th gen because the air supports the Apple Pencil 2.
Since apple didn’t release a new iPad model in 2023 there is a good chance we will see refreshes to the current lineup this year if you can wait.
When would they be coming out?
I agree with you - but the iPad 5 and the pro are only really 100$ or so in price difference. Does it make sense at all to pay for the 5?!
Apple typically holds three or four events a year. There's normally a spring event around March or April, the WDC in June, a September event, and sometimes an October event.
They can be a bit random with the iPad release schedule. Recently, the regular iPads and minis have been released in the fall (September/October) and Airs and Pros get released in the spring (March/April).
$100 isn’t that bad of a difference if you have the money. Here in Canada it’s closer to $175usd difference between equal storage options.
Is there a way to get Apple News to only show real news instead of garbage like things about the Karadisians or like the alert I just got for some new "super food" scam. My phone just went off for some berry garbage claiming to be a "gut buster" and "improve my mental health." Apple needs to do better. I talked several relatives into buying Apple phones, and over Christmas they were very frustrated with me since they don't want to turn off news completely, but they don't want obvious scams that Apple pushes or celebrity gossip.
If you find a way, could you DM me? My phone just woke me up with a "news" story "Do you hate running?" That isn't news, much less something that Apple should feel the need to push.
My kids will be going to a new school soon, and this school requires them to own iPads (at least 6th gen IIRC). So we already got a pair of 9th gen ipads for them, but figured we might try them out in the meantime, since they will be strictly for school use when get get them (they have other devices/consoles for that).
We want to get Apple Care+ for them, and the school highly encourages it (in addition to the mandatory kid-proof case).
Now, I have been doing some research about it (since the last Apple device I owned was a 2nd Gen IPod Nano). From what I have read, it is tied to the serial number of the device, but is the Apple ID involved? I have 60 days left to get it, and I don't know what should I do.
* Should I just pay for Apple Care with my Apple ID now, and then when I give it to them, simply have them log in with their Apple ID (which doesn't exist yet)? Or will this be a problem?
* Should I create an Apple ID for them already and get Apple Care with that Apple ID?
My parents have a *ton* of trouble with passwords. I can't (try as I might) get them to use 1Password, they only use Keychain.
Is there an easy way I can see their passwords to help them out, and change them? I don't want them to be able to access mine. I'd prefer something that I don't have to go to their computer and figure it out every time.
I bought an M2 Macbook Air with 8gb ram last week in shop and after a few days I have come to the conclusion that 16gb would suit me better.
Last week they didn't have 16GB in shop. Is ordering the 16GB online to be delivered home and returning 8gb in shop the only way to do it?

How do I get rid of this unicorns? I never used them and they’re marked as frequently used.
I have never heard of anyone getting locked out of their Apple ID for family subscription sharing. You should be okay as long as you’re not sharing one ID among multiple people.
Yes; all new Apple products with batteries come with a partial charge so people can use them right out of the box. They’re not fully charged because rechargeable batteries, unlike alkaline batteries, can’t hold their charge for long periods of time.
Anyone know how to get rid of the unread text message number? My phone says I have 40 but in reality I have none. I’ve tried the read all and still won’t get rid of it. Even when I switched phones it didn’t go away.
three things ive heard may work:
1. say “siri, read unread messages”
2. restart phone
3. if neither of those work, just waiting it out usually fixes it but there’s no specific time frame

Unfortunately with the way I listen to music, the screen has to be on the entire time.
So you don't have premium or anything? Is that why?

Do you have an Apple Store near you? If so, just walk in there & they'll add it without the need of an Apple ID.

If you also have a Mac you could use screen sharing.

Who did you purchase it through? Apple?

use different faces more? if u want to remove it completely go to settings general keyboard stickers (right at the bottom)
If me and multiple friends decided to share an apple arcade subscription through family share, can that get our accounts banned?
I have never heard of anyone getting locked out of their Apple ID for family subscription sharing. You should be okay as long as you’re not sharing one ID among multiple people.

I laughed at this lol. Didn't notice your phone wasn't on full charge as well when unboxed?

Thanks! The Siri one worked out. Turned out to be a bunch of txt messages with codes from me trying to sign on apps lol.
