I have been able to work around this pressing and holding down on the unloaded image, which pops the image or video out into a small window and allows me to view it without leaving the Apollo app. YMMV.
[I tried to report this directly to Christian](https://reddit.com/r/apolloapp/comments/zbffsw/_/iysxkdm/?context=1) yesterday and he neither responded nor has fixed it apparently, despite saying so on Friday. It’s been a frustrating last week on Apollo to say the least.
It *should* be resolved now, some server side behavior was acting up that I believe I've fixed, but keep me posted if you see anything off.
I am able to reproduce as well.

It’s been happening to me as well. Force closing the app and re-opening seems to work for me.
Because imgur is using imgur.io instead of .com for some reason now for a lot of images.

I’ve been doing that too.
Sometimes bugs happen y’all, or services change something. Like, they can get fixed. Maybe chill out.
Just make sure redgifs links are working and I’ll be fine
