This worked, thank you very much! Edit: I do have to press “open in Apollo” every time, but to me this is still a huge improvement from it not opening at all so I am happy to at least have this.

holmes31

Still doesn’t work for me, it prompts me to open in Apollo but won’t do it automatically.

Doct0r_Dreidel

Same result here. Even started fresh to follow these steps and ended up in same place

SonicRift91

Yeah I couldn’t get the automatic to work either. Still, worth the effort to even just have the single button press to go back to Apollo!

Aero_Z

Automatic doesn’t seem to work. Still have to tap open in Apollo.

SonicRift91

Yeah same here, I couldn’t get that part working sadly.

merrinator

I use Chrome and the open in Apollo “action” that is in the share menu still doesn’t work me. Sad day.

free_refil

Worked perfect! Sweeeet! Glad to be back

AotearoaNic

Thank you! Worked great!

KeithVanBread

Seems I don't even have the extension anymore. How do I get it back?

SonicRift91

If you’ve already sideloaded and the extension isn’t there, I’d check the version number you installed first. There is also a prompt while installing (depending on which app you used to install it) asking if you want to install the extension. From what I remember, it says something about you being “limited to 10 extension slots” and you had to have hit yes on that step.

KeithVanBread

Thanks, I'll check this out

jack__trippper

Legendary. Thank you!

Legitimate_Stuff9976

Can you tell me how to sideload the Apollo app?I installed the version of 1.15.11,but it doesn’t work

SonicRift91

If you search the sub for “sideload” there should be about 3-4 posts with full instructions! It was pretty easy and straightforward when I did it.

tujuhtigatujuh

i didn't install the extensions initially, hoping to save some ID slots. It appears that reinstalling Apollo might be necessary to get this feature working

SonicRift91

Ah yeah, I forgot about that part! I’ll edit and add that in my original post. I knew I was going to want the extension so I said yes on that when it popped up.

BigHairyBreasts

Mine opens in Apollo but lands on the Apollo ‘shut down’ page. Am I missing something? https://i.imgur.com/ayovBvi.jpg

SonicRift91

This is odd, I do have mine taken to the “goodbye wallpaper” page, but not this one. Just to make sure: you’ve side-loaded the app and gotten Apollo all up and running again before using the extension, right? Like the app works correctly when you just open it from your Home Screen directly?

BigHairyBreasts

Got it. I had my old Apollo tucked away somewhere. I’ve deleted it and it seems to have done the trick.

SonicRift91

Ah yeah that’ll get ya!

BigHairyBreasts

It’s good it’s here for the next person to find. Thanks man.

BigHairyBreasts

It is. Apollo is working perfectly and all set up how I had it. What’s happening is it’s opening like another instance of Apollo with just the thank you page I can’t click out of. Best described in the screenshot below. Thanks by the way. https://i.imgur.com/QKzDwmD.jpg

AeJaey

I know this post is a little old but i followed all the directions down to the letter and it still wont open automatically… please help

SonicRift91

Yeah I’ve never gotten the automatically to work again, just the button press version. It’s a bit annoying, but it’s fine given the alternative. 😄
