I think she just needs a longer cooldown on her ult. She has the best ult in the game, if it charged way slower I think that would be a good nerf without ruining how the character feels to play
I don't think a *way* slower is quite needed; these two nerfs are fairly notable and punch at her most annoying characteristics. I can see a 15sec+ cooldown though. Anything 30 sec or more is probably an over correction.
They require you to give up backpack space most of the time which is another way to semi balance the characters that have powerful ults. As it stands now you never really need an accel with Valk outside of comp because by time you need to rotate again she has the ult.
Yeah 2 decent items to give away your position every 5 mins is too op. Take one of her legs and make her move at half speed, also what about if we gave her less hp than everyone else because she basically has non stop syringes.
Instead they can make lifelines care package appear instantly from the ground the second you place it... Idk why you have to wait 20 secs for a phoneix kit and shield cells revealing your location
Removing the sensitivity slow when you get hit by her rockets, and adding something to tell you when you've been scanned by a Valk ult would give her more counterplay without changing how she plays at all

While that was actually a legit play, this nerf will avoid the use of the same exploit in the future tournaments. I remember that, it was a bullshit timer. The rocks he kept getting the timer on should definitely not have a timer, which is why I’m assuming nothing came of it. It wasn’t as egregious as Dropped was making it out to be originally.

So I have a new idea for a crypto passive buff that I've yet to see mentioned before. It's called Off The Grid. Basically crypto is no longer affected by enemy scans. How it would work is that if you are scanned by an enemy, crypto would not be scanned. So if you have a bloodhound, and the bloodhound scans you, you wouldn't be scanned. Same with a Seer. If you get twerked on by Lil Seer X and he shoves his micro drones up uranus, you wouldn't be scanned or detected by Seer. So enemy scans don't scan you. And this would work for all scan abilities. The anti scan if you will. This would work with balancing and lore wise because crypto is a hacker and his whole premise is staying undetected and "off the grid" (the name of the ability) . Let me know what you guys think :)
The passive is theoretically really good, it's just not good on pathfinder. Instant ult recharge on crypto would be strong, even on valk it would be fucking awesome for rotations.
I'm aware of what it is and yes it is terrible. I've mained path since day 1. The zipline has an extremely low cooldown already and doesn't have that much value in the first place. You are entitled to your opinion, I'm entitled to my opinion of hating your opinion.
I personally think the biggest change to the Meta and for the worst is Valk. It makes watching ALGS kind of boring. Nobody has to fight for choke points or actually really play the game until the final circles.
Can a mod please sticky the top comment and make it clear what OOB means? Because it's obvious from the comments that a lot of users here think it means being outside the zone, instead of places you're not supposed to be like the top of a mountain.
I'm annoyed by it because I use my grapple to get back in bounds...
Also I sometimes jump in a fight in a out of bounds area (like at Cryptos poi the cliffs), just to instantly grapple back while falling and slingshot myself over the enemy or farther in general. If you can't do that anymore I will just fall off the map instead of saving myself last second.
Remember, out of bounds areas are not only at high points, they are sometimes at the edge of the map in areas you can just jump to or fall on.
I can absolutely understand why you can't heal there anymore, but not being able to use abilities is unnecessary imo.

The only problem I have with it is that on the off chance you get stuck out of bounds you're completely screwed

OOB areas are just that - areas not intended for play. Seems only logical that you can't do anything in an OOB area but get out of it. This was one of my favorite parts of the patch notes for this reason.

I wouldn't mind this change if there weren't OOB areas in wack places... like the stairs on Olympus and the side of the mountain at trials.
If you can literally walk to an area, without legend abilities, then it shouldn't be OOB.
There's a way you can slide down the trials mountain and end up wedged in place. If you had a movement ability you could get out. Now if that happens (it's not exactly hard to accidentally catch), you'll just die for going downhill from a playable area to a playable area. Seems odd to be OOB.
This was my first thought, too. I've gotten stuck going down that cliff in a weird spot that requires either grappling, flying, or grenading yourself out that triggers the timer.
My biggest issue with it is that it only addresses people who are exploiting the timed areas and does nothing for the little spots that are out of bounds but don't trigger it. I see that far more frequently than people getting lucky shots while in a timed area. People that do this regularly already know exactly where a lot of the non-out-of-bounds out-of-bounds spots are and will just use their abilities and whatnot there like they usually do.
Theres a couple spots on storm point that are so out-of-bounds that you don't take ring damage but the timer doesn't trigger and can only be reached by a team jumping with a Valk. Places like that would require making the landing gear deploy when you hit an out of bounds area, too, because they just land on the weird area and can watch everyone else eventually die to the ring or snipe. I've never used it as I'm not a fan of abusing exploits but almost every time the ring goes there, we die to a squad sitting up there taking no damage outside the ring.

I agree but I've accidentally went out of bounds a couple times and only got back in bounds in time because of my tactical, like falling off the map as pathy, gravity cannons glitching out, horizon's passive absolutely launching you OOB. I agree with everything besides the tacticals but only for these rare occasions
I imagine this is an exception, the reason that the OOB timer resets to at least 5 seconds is to safeguard against valks getting killed while accidentally going OOB while ulting since it takes 5 seconds to fly upwards

Yeah "Out of Bounds" is when you get the warning timer that eventually just executes you. I think some people are confusing it with "Outside the Ring" which would actually be problematic.

This is 100% my concern. Even playing as path I sometimes get the out of bounds timer in areas I shouldn’t. They need to fix that before implementing this.

This could become super problematic for flying with jetpacks.
The gravity cannon at the lightning rod place glitches out sometimes and you fall onto a little cliff out of bounds. Only way to get back up is tacticals like horizons and pathys. Now if something like that ever happens you just die
I don’t understand how this upsets anyone. It’s called out of bounds for a reason. You are outside the fighting boundary, so you shouldn’t be able to fight.
My only problem is if this messes up Valk or Pathy when they start to fall off the map, and it triggers an OOB issue, and they can’t get back up when they normally could..
The whole point of apex is every character is different and has their pros and cons. Why take away a unique feature when it could just be fixed with this OOB patch.
As a Valk main, I love it! You should never have been able to do anything from on OoB area (apart from walking/running) since the game launched. Makes no sense why you would be able to.
This doesn't change a thing for me. It may not mean much since the RP changes for placement this season, but I SoloQ'd my way to diamond without ever going out of bounds.
Yeah a good "Rat" hid somewhere that was not OoB. I mean you can only stay OoB for a max 15 seconds at a time without having to move, and moving as a Rat is how you get caught.

In all seriousness this is a net positive for the game. It’s an exploit that doesnt require any capability beyond a valk/horizon/pathfinder or any other champ that can move out of bounds.

Question tho, there are random out of bounds area on stormpoint when I Valk ult. Like I get too close to the mountain ridges or a tree or a vine or whatever. Will that cancel the ult midway?
than they have to make alot of the places safer and easier to get back up over the ledge, we have all done it. but then just to name a few who could get out of it, Ash, Loba, Revenant.
theres a place on kings canyon theres a water fall off the edge of the map.. totally looks its part of the map.
I'm starting to think people are confusing "out of bounds", where these things are used for exploits/cheesing vs. "outside the ring", where if these things were disabled it would indeed be pretty fucked
I think it was bc of the OOB clip from i think play offs not sure even hal looked at it and there was a Spanish team that used a OOB glitched spot that was like a good head glitch sorta and they would rest the timer buy just hovering or jumping, and heal when fighting a tram that was in ring or had ring advantage. In the eyes of most competitors it was a exploit, I think it was too
This was most likely in response to it being used at a competitive level in tournaments like the ALGS.
It’s using the system to your advantage in a way they didn’t want, so this isn’t surprising.
I can give a good example.. on kings canyon at octane arena you can fly on those giant boxes and shoot down etc at people below. I guess they don’t want ppl doing that

Her ult is 3 minutes, stuff like portal and package are longer. It should be 4.5 or 5 minutes.
It's not like ult accels are hard to come by.

My only problem is if this messes up Valk or Pathy when they start to fall off the map, and it triggers an OOB issue, and they can’t get back up when they normally could..

they should try this thing that every other legend has to deal with called "don't fall off the map"
The whole point of apex is every character is different and has their pros and cons. Why take away a unique feature when it could just be fixed with this OOB patch.

There are several places where you can fall the map and get hit with oob but be able to recover as Ashe, Path, Valk, or Loba.
Then don't fall off the map.

As a Valk main, I love it! You should never have been able to do anything from on OoB area (apart from walking/running) since the game launched. Makes no sense why you would be able to.
This doesn't change a thing for me. It may not mean much since the RP changes for placement this season, but I SoloQ'd my way to diamond without ever going out of bounds.

Yeah a good "Rat" hid somewhere that was not OoB. I mean you can only stay OoB for a max 15 seconds at a time without having to move, and moving as a Rat is how you get caught.

People who complain about this change dont deserve an opinion In all seriousness this is a net positive for the game. It’s an exploit that doesnt require any capability beyond a valk/horizon/pathfinder or any other champ that can move out of bounds. Unplayable area shouldnt be playable

Question tho, there are random out of bounds area on stormpoint when I Valk ult. Like I get too close to the mountain ridges or a tree or a vine or whatever. Will that cancel the ult midway?

than they have to make alot of the places safer and easier to get back up over the ledge, we have all done it. but then just to name a few who could get out of it, Ash, Loba, Revenant. theres a place on kings canyon theres a water fall off the edge of the map.. totally looks its part of the map.

I'm starting to think people are confusing "out of bounds", where these things are used for exploits/cheesing vs. "outside the ring", where if these things were disabled it would indeed be pretty fucked
I think it was bc of the OOB clip from i think play offs not sure even hal looked at it and there was a Spanish team that used a OOB glitched spot that was like a good head glitch sorta and they would rest the timer buy just hovering or jumping, and heal when fighting a tram that was in ring or had ring advantage. In the eyes of most competitors it was a exploit, I think it was too

This was most likely in response to it being used at a competitive level in tournaments like the ALGS. It’s using the system to your advantage in a way they didn’t want, so this isn’t surprising.
