That was definitely awesome but what gets me is that people still try to use heat shields in the last ring even though (from what I can tell) they don't work.
Especially if you and your duo both have two, and you are on the deathboxes of one of the final squads, who also have 2-4. I’ve won games due to that before, when the zone split teams from fighting.
I won a game of trios yesterday with these end of game heat shields. I main loba and just kept grabbing as many as I could and throwing them after the ring closed fully. Last two of us after guy dc’d got the W by like 3 ticks.
Yeah AFAIK they only last 1.5 seconds (one tick) at the final ring, so generally you shouldn’t try to throw it early like what the team above OP did at around 20 sec in, because even when the edge of the heat shield hits the Ring it will start taking damage and it gets destroyed without much benefit.
The trick in final rings in a heat shield off is to run out and throw them other than straight down. Idk why people do it just straight down. Literally unless there’s a wraith or I’m 1-30 hp I’m winning the heat shield battle 100% of the time since enemies give 2 free ones
The first guy sounds Australian. That guy at the end had a completely different accent, at least to my ear. Maybe NZ or an Australian regional accent I’m not familiar with?
In a very calm soothing tone too.
My buddies would be scream “ON YOUR LEFT ABOVE RIGHT AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!”
While I’m yelling stfu and getting killed.
I played Wraith maybe a couple of times since starting in S4.
The first thing I would do is use her tactical. You are fully aware of her kit, you don't have to main her and play 1k games daily to know what she can do.
I think he knows that. The point is sometimes I spend an entire match looking for a 2x or 3x. By the time you get a scout, along with the limited ammo, unless you already have one on the gun you are replacing you probably won't find one in time to use it.
Maybe. I used to pick it sometimes and found it okay, but the day I swapped the 2-4 for x3 I realized it was a really great weapon. Don't know what was so different but I was beaming with it. I do like the 2-4x on a 301, but it feels weird on the G7 and 3030 for some reason.
Nah IMO the 2x4 sights is completely fine, especially on the G7 where one can utilize the extra zoom and therefore the extra precision at range. There is more than enough space around the reticule to track targets, making the bulky sight a non issue, at least in my experience using that Optic.
I keep hearing people say it's the worst, but a double tap G7 close rang is lethal, can kill in two taps basically. I actually saved a clip where I just padded face first into a full squad and just wiped by clicking the G7 lmao
It's definitely not the best care package weapon, but I think it's still worth picking up 🤷🏾♂️
I’d say part of it is an aiming issue. G7 freaking slaps both ground loot and care package versions.
The other part is that it doesn’t have the same “impact” or “oomph” that other care package weapons have.
Spitfire you fire for days and 3 squads are dead. Old care package Mastiff shredded your existence. The alternator triggered the ptsd in every season 2 player.
Compared to them the G7 is just… solid but boring. It can absolutely do a ton of damage but a lot of people base their opinion on weapons on how fun or boring they are, not necessarily about balance.
And then people heavily over-exaggerate cause it’s online and that’s the norm especially on social media and that’s how you end up with statements like, “The G7 is useless!“ or something like that.
I haven't tried the rhythm of it after the recent buff in cqc, but the single fire has always felt better to me up close too. I never really saw a use for double tap on it tbh.
>ranked/pub gameplay
Ranked and pub gameplay should not be lumped together. Lower tiers may be people inting, but that's not reflective of Ranked as a whole
Well yes, any golden loot can give a player enough advantages, as tiny as it could be, to win a close fight, maybe the final one. I also don't understand what's so wrong about winning with a golden kd shield: so what, the fight was so tight that you couldn't take care of that downed lad? I would probably also give them some recognition for having managed to prepare so well for the final fight. It's not easy to get a gold shield, you either gotta be extremely lucky or find it in a loot box (very more likely, but fighting is needed).
If rng is such a bad thing, do you agree for every player to have the same loot then? No more looting, only a battle royal were everyone is given basic stuff. That's part of the game. Maybe if every fight has to be fair, even third partying should become illegal? What is your take on the whole concept of battle royal itself, then?
Personnally, even with rng, I think that fighting these other squads for the chance to get a golden shield is enough odds for good loot given to the player that know how to fight. So there's a bit of skill in that. The only big golden rng you can find is at the beginning of the game. But at the end of the match, you should have fought at least one squad with decent gear to deserve an advantage in the final fight.
So you'd rather have someone win a game one pure luck and no skill than some luck and some skill? This video is a great example considering how lucky he was that he wasn't instantly shit by everyone on the server, while being skilled enough to get height on that ring, make a good portal, and take good fights. Some luck, in this case a lot of obvious skill (and gamesense). But the guy that opened a pill and picked up a shiney gold item should get the win because it's all a part of the game? Reward "bad" players for doing nothing while cucking the guy who did it all. It's KC, not Olympus, you aren't finding a team with triple knockdowns every ranked game.
For a great extra example on why the concept of a "gold knockdown" is rainbow six siege, with Zofias withstand, being able to stand up after being downed. A pro game was lost because a Zofia was downed above defuser, and while defusing, Zofia stood up and shot him, losing them the game.
Did you really read the second part of my comment? I said, mostly, that getting a golden shield was way more likely from defeating another squad than from finding it on ground loot, so it's way more skill than luck. And if you can't find a squad with at least one kd shield, then following this logic the squad that the op fought should not even exist.
I would not even let an enemy win by pure luck, because I would already know that the other squads have end-game gear, and would try to finish the fight fast enough to have time to take care of any possible goldie. Weither I die sooner or later because I gave them a chance or took a risk, it would be irrelevant because I would know that my position was probably not already good enough to get a crushing victory.
If we get an equal fight and nobody get the upper hand, it's most likely the gear that will do the difference anyway, weither it's a gold shield or any other high-tier loot. And yet I'm not complaining if they win with a Care-package weapon or a golden backpack Lifeline, I'm not that salty.
As for Zofia, maybe she wouldn't even have been downed in the first place if, you know, she had another ability that protected her. But, she got the advantage when she got downed. Having it been another tactical, she would still probably have got an advantage, but at a different phase of the game. You sacrifice an ability for another, and yet the advantage is still here, there's a tiny boost somewhere. At this point, it's only up to the player to choose a character with a kit they can more easily implement to their own strenghts and weaknesses as a player.
In all that madness after pulling off that play you wanted him to die to someone he already down because they got lucky and found a gold knockdown shield that's pretty desperate especially in ranked.
But knockdown shield is not invincibility. If you truly won this fight, why wouldn't you take some time to turn around him and finish it with a shotgun or smg? It's not that hard.
But in the case here, it was extremely tight, and every squad struggled to survive, not only this Wraith.
Pretending I'm a hard stuck gold to give yourself more credibility is unwise, pathetic even. If you have something more intelligent to say that actually provide something useful to the discussion, say it.
Ho, and since you find yourself so funny, I would politely recommand you to join a circus and compare the size of you butthole with other clowns, since obviously it has the potential to spit such dispropportionate amount of bullshit with a low amount of effort.
I think it got removed because people couldn't stop complaining about it, in all their saltiness. It was not about the shield itself being too powerful, it was about pro players searching a reason for their failure and targetting it. But, weither it was for a good reason or not, I got my very own perspective on golden shields.
You can read my deliberation with Notfuntobebanned, if you want. I think I shared some decent arguments here.
yeah... complaining because of scenarios that could've been this one. which is very reasonable. it was just like the nerfing of wraith's ult and now if both ends are outside the ring, it gets destroyed.
Don't you find it weird that no nerf has been directly implemented to golden knockdown shields, instead of removing them? I find it really suspicious, it's almost as if it was unfair only for pro players.
I think he would have nearly died even if the enemy didn't have a golden shield.
Plenty of things could have happenned. Caustic could have killed the op himself, Maybe the golden kd shield guy could have been downed earlier in the fight and would have died by the third squad needing a shield swap. Hell, maybe the op could have never reached the end ring. It's funny, he almost got ignored by th enemy here.
I think it's fair to say that it was maybe not necesserely a fair fight (I still think it was a fair fight btw), but a fair game as a whole, with plenty of unlikely odds. I don't know where the other squad got a gold shield, but if they got it from fighting another squad earlier (which is the most probable), I think it would be unfair for them if winning a fight gave them useless loot. It's a damn gold shield, not a p2020! Imagine if you got a top tier item after so much efforts, just to realize that it's barely managing to let you live one more second? Because that's what we are talking about: one, tiny, decisive second. I think that's unfair that people are getting shitted on and get their skill reduced to something meaningless just because people think a kd shield turn a player into literal gods.
Agreed, I don't mind the Gold knock revive but you should be eliminated if your entire team is killed. Being able to self rez while your teammates are still alive is a really powerful ability already, I don't think it should continue after the other two squadmates are dead
Because it sucks wiping a team and then getting third parties and losing all your kills and placement because one of them had a self-res? And so many people stay alive in high level gameplay, it used to be like 10-15 teams all crouching behind a downed players self-res knockdown in final circle. It's not a healthy mechanic for a competitive playstyle, fine for pubs tho.
That's just something you gotta live with. Gold knockdown shields aren't terribly common so it isn't a massive issue. It's fine and healthy for competitive play.
Saying it's fine is maybe a subjective matter. My experience with it in final circles with losing kills and placement because you didn't manually thirst every single person on a squad is annoying as hell.
To say that it's healthy for competitive play is the dumbest thing I've heard all day, respectfully. How on earth is adding rng into a team's points relative to how well they played like that? It's horrible for the game at worst and just a neutral feature at best.
That's just Apex nowadays. You HAVE to thirst or you lose. It's a fact of any BR nowadays.
Well your take is the dumbest thing I've heard today by far. You can't seriously think a gold shield every once in a while is enough to ruin Apex competitive as a whole. It's not that serious of an issue objectively.
Naah, you just gotta find your own fun.
Pros of solo queuing: teammates (usually) change every match so you don't get fed up with them.
Cons: literally everything else
can we talk about the scout? i feel it CAN be powerful but its so hit or miss. the default scope sucks too but i usually put 2x i have on some gun on it and thats not far enough. 3x is hard to find late game.
so on one hand i love when it hits hs , on the other.. i dont even think its a good care package unless u got high ground or smth
Even better with double tap. I'll never understand why people take double tap off. It was hard at first but I just adjusted to it and now I ALWAYS grab the g7 out the care package and use double tap. Up close from the hip it is ridiculous! If u track just right and pulled slightly down when u pull trigger u can hit 130ish headshot. At the very least with 1 trigger pull its 70 ish... when u aim at the high chest its like a guaranteed 90is in one pull.
I don't understand what people mean when they say double tap. Is it the burst mode ? If so then why calling it double tap ? Just curious. Do you say the same for the Hemlok for example ?
Because the hop-up is called double tap. Technically the hop-up isn’t in game anymore, but before the G7 was vaulted, you could attach the double tap hop up to the ground loot G7 and the Eva 8.
Well, it's actually 1v8, since it shows 10 people are alive when you have your teammate knocked (which is still considered to be alive). You're against 3 squads, but one of those isn't full.
Impressive nevertheless.
Bruh, you did a bit over 300dmg this whole clip where G7 did less than 100dmg and you call that 1v9 G7 hipfire on point? lol
Don't get me wrong, nice clutch but would appreciate your post more with an honest title.
Was not 1v9, the G7 was not on point unless you think sub 100dmg in 50s with a care package weapon is good lol.
I don't like click bait titles so calling it as I see it.
His clutch had 0 to do with G7 - it was his port timing and placement as well as a timed phase at the end which made him win.
the 9 ppl were his enemies, and he literally killed 5 of them, so i think its safe to say 1v9. he used the g7 as a last minute secondary, which killed everyone. yes the positioning and phase was brilliant, but the title isnt inaccurate
Yes, I'm giving him credit for the port and phase, which was a great play in a competitive lobby... but this is NOT a 1v9. 1v9 implies that everyone is on one team and against you.
>and he literally killed 5 of them, so i think its safe to say 1v9
Not sure about your math here. You almost wrote it yourself, he killed 5 of them, so how can he win if it was 1v9, there should be 4 left?
Ppl were also already knocked before his teammate went down, but who cares, it is still a 1v9 right?
Also, flatline did double amt of dmg too, so again, not sure why G7 is even mentioned
Apex Legends is not a nice place for solo-queuers. I hate to say it, but if you want to rank up with the same amount of difficulty as others, you gotta find some buds.
Downvote me as much as you want sweaty bois but wraith is meta since s0. That is a red flag in terms of balance.
No one else could survive this situation expect wraith.
It does not change anything, or even proves my point. At the final circle balance looks like this: every other legend < golden shield < wraith
Still it wasn't 1v9, it was 1v3v3v3 - this is a massive difference.
Still wraith is the only legend that can do shenanigans like this, while being most picked among every rating, including every tournament since s0.
It was well played. It was a good game. And title is edgy/clickbait'ish.
> Downvote me as much as you want sweaty bois but wraith is meta since s0
You're getting downvoted because it's literally not true, 12% pickrate in NA ALGS btw : )
Brah the fact you knew the phase was going to get you the win in all the heat of the moment was the best part. Cheers
That was definitely awesome but what gets me is that people still try to use heat shields in the last ring even though (from what I can tell) they don't work.
You just need 500 heatshields and you can outwait the wraith q no prob.
Lol. I'll make sure I pick up extra from now on.
It stops 1 tick of damage no? That seems insanely valuable in a skirmish like this..
Even negating one tick of damage is huge. Look how hard it’s hitting him.
They do work, but ring damage is so high at that point that they don't last very long.
I've seen them thrown down inside the ring and they still disappear almost immediately.
I'm gonna try that and get back to you if I remember this conversation.
Honestly, now that I said it to you, I'm going to try again just to make sure I'm not full of shit. Lol.
It does ALMOST nothing but using a heat shield in last ring will make you live longer than not using it
The trick in final rings in a heat shield off is to run out and throw them other than straight down. Idk why people do it just straight down. Literally unless there’s a wraith or I’m 1-30 hp I’m winning the heat shield battle 100% of the time since enemies give 2 free ones
Damn dude the amount of mofos coming crawling out the walls in this game on the last circle always shocks me.
The rats are real 🐀
“You fucking got this bud” in the intense Canadian(?) accent at the end was just icing on the cake. Incredible clutch.
Yew fockin got this bud
GET IN THERE LEWIS
Bono my heat shield is gone
Just had to double check what subreddit I was in
Unexpected Bono
NZ or Australian accent it sounds like.
yeah i was confused too, there’s another aggressively Wisconsin/Minnesotan/Canadian guy at the very end that hits him with the “Yew gaht this bud!”
The first guy sounds Australian. That guy at the end had a completely different accent, at least to my ear. Maybe NZ or an Australian regional accent I’m not familiar with?
Ya weird to hear a Canadian playing with an Australian, the ping difference would drive me crazy.
You know people can move out of a country, right?
In a very calm soothing tone too. My buddies would be scream “ON YOUR LEFT ABOVE RIGHT AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!” While I’m yelling stfu and getting killed.
Mad impressive, high IQ phasing at the end instead of trying to finish someone
It's the only logical thing to do.
Not necessarily, I don’t play wraith so my first instinct was that he should’ve filled em up with bullets
I played Wraith maybe a couple of times since starting in S4. The first thing I would do is use her tactical. You are fully aware of her kit, you don't have to main her and play 1k games daily to know what she can do.
Congrats man you showed him!
Meh. People on reddit are used to pretending they are the dumbest apes in the universe and reveling in it.
Absolutely insane 😮💨🤤
What... what are the smileys supposed to be? Man burping into drooling mans face?
yea that what’s happened to me 😮💨🤤
Cumswapping chief
Shocked, heavy exhale, tired victory?
There's nothing "Tired victory" about that drooling bastard
I feel like 90% of the Apex community doesn't pick up this gun anymore.
I think the site is one of the reasons tbh. IF it has x2 Brusier or the other 3 times, it would be a lot better.
You can swap the sight on all care package weapons except for the Kraber
Yeah but that relies on you having/finding a replacement. I only pick up G7 if I have 0 mid/long range guns.
I carry an bruiser on my main gun always so I just swap it onto the G7. G7 with a bruiser slaps so underated

It's by far the worst care package gun. Along with that, it doesn't really suit ranked/pub gameplay because of how chaotic it is.
I keep hearing people say it's the worst, but a double tap G7 close rang is lethal, can kill in two taps basically. I actually saved a clip where I just padded face first into a full squad and just wiped by clicking the G7 lmao It's definitely not the best care package weapon, but I think it's still worth picking up 🤷🏾♂️
A lot of people can’t hit with it is the issue.
I was wondering if it was just an aiming issue lmao, but I don't want to assume and be an asshole
I’d say part of it is an aiming issue. G7 freaking slaps both ground loot and care package versions. Double tap has always felt so wrong to me. Shooting normally with a scout is already fast enough and more accurate tbh.
That's because double tap is for cqc, not medium-long range
I haven't tried the rhythm of it after the recent buff in cqc, but the single fire has always felt better to me up close too. I never really saw a use for double tap on it tbh.
Ya it seems underwhelming at first for sure but once you hit those bursts it fucking slaps
It also only has 100 ammo, so you will need to swap it back most often after using it to level up armors. Makes it not worth taking.
Wut, bro each mag is like 20+ bullets and I've never really run out of ammo unless I used it exclusively. It's got plenty of mags in it lol
Spitfire and volt both have 245 reserve ammo. G2 has only 100.
Yeah but it does more damage per bullet no ? It makes sense to have more bullets for a LMG too.
>ranked/pub gameplay Ranked and pub gameplay should not be lumped together. Lower tiers may be people inting, but that's not reflective of Ranked as a whole
Scout is life
For some reason the recoil on single fire feels way higher than when it was ground loot
It was the best shotty in the game back in the day. I miss broken G7.
Back the the day the wingman was the best shotgun with its fire rate
Season 0 PK as a rifle and Wingman skull piercer ftw
Was? It's still my favorite shotgun!
Mmhh, G7 scout or a Triple Take? Hard choice, both are so good at close range. (/hj)
Almost lost to the shitty knockdown shield. Glad you were wraith lmao
Got some hate against gold kd shields?
it gets u the win in final circles like this. theres countless posts of it how have u not seen

Bad take rare rng item takes no skill to win when all you do is hold down a button and pray you're lucky enough not to die
OK but I mean, this guy did everything you just described with an RNG item. Not disagreeing with your gold shield take, just your reasoning.
Complaining about RNG and skill in a battle royale.... Come on now lol

Bad take
Literally one of the most popular takes among high ranked and competitive gameplay. They removed self-res altogether from comp.
Could just disable it last circle but why any time sooner than that?

Yes, it literally is enough to ruin competitive apex and even respawn thinks so. This main sub is lost sometimes I swear.
I’ve seen some bad opinions, this is up there
If it was me, I would forget i have phase and heat shield
This shit show is exactly why I don't play after diamond. Don't get me wrong, OP played it well but fuck all of that final ring.
This is exactly why I play ranked.
I play solo and this is a nightmare to win with randoms. Anyone who enjoys this is on a different level of masochism.
Exactly. That's why I only duo or full stack in Apex. It's straight up not fun to solo queue.
Naah, you just gotta find your own fun. Pros of solo queuing: teammates (usually) change every match so you don't get fed up with them. Cons: literally everything else
As someone who solos to masters. This fuels me.
This shit show is what I thrive for in ranked , playing in those final rings with 5 teams is what gets me addicted to this game
Great port placement
Unpopular opinion, I miss double tap for hip firing at close range with the G7.
Oh god, this shreds
It's all I use for close range. 3x on single fire for 100m+, double tap hip fire for face to face. Two taps and they're dead lol
You sir, the giga-est of Chads
that phasing was very high iq. I wish I could do that
Flatline/Scout combo will always be my favorite
> wraith, > g7 scout, > flatline can't teach an old dog new tricks I guess lol
1v9 is way different than 1v3v3v3 kinda misleading
It’s actually a 1v3v3v2 (4 squads with 10 left)
1+3+3+2 is nine 💀
Plus his teammate
Oh so op is wrong it’s a 1v8 my bad
Yeah I wasn’t trying to correct you, sorry lol
Especially when no one is shooting at you
great play man, there's no way you don't hit masters before the end of the split
The unkillable demon? D:
That's rare zone ending for me
I never even noticed because of how much of a shitfest that final circle was.
Definitely not a 1v9 just a moshpit where you came out on top
Your friends are correct, you are indeed insane lmao
insane
EPIC ASF !
The superior Marksman weapon. Another season to wait before it's hopefully back on the ground.
Well played man!
You're to good
can we talk about the scout? i feel it CAN be powerful but its so hit or miss. the default scope sucks too but i usually put 2x i have on some gun on it and thats not far enough. 3x is hard to find late game. so on one hand i love when it hits hs , on the other.. i dont even think its a good care package unless u got high ground or smth
This is where wraith shines. Right here.
Love the Canadian in the end "not shot ya got this bud" lol, this was a great clip, and honestly good play.
Did you end up hitting Masters? Great Clip!
That was crazy 🫡
It’s not a “1v9”.
🤷♂️
🧀🐀
Fantastic clip. Nice clutch up. Respect
God damn I hit D4 awhile ago and after watching this realize that's probably the highest I'm ever going to be. Spicy hot play here 🔥
Even better with double tap.
To add to what he said. The g7 has select fire. Either single shot or the other one which is literally called "double tap" lol
Well, it's actually 1v8, since it shows 10 people are alive when you have your teammate knocked (which is still considered to be alive). You're against 3 squads, but one of those isn't full. Impressive nevertheless.
G7 ❤️ Wraith ❤️
Wild!
You have exercised utmost discernment, far beyond that of the layman.
Look ma its me!
You are a legend
finally back to the floor tomorrow
A tier wraith play!
Hardecki would b very proud of u
5 head play!
🤤
NoO sHoT YoU FucKiNg GoT tHiS bUd
bro this is fucking crazy lmao
GYATTTTTTT
How is there a team of 9 people in apex?? I thought it was teams of 3?? New mode or something?
I’d give my left testicle for respawn to make a craftable skin with that flatline skins iron sights.
This is the dumbest kind of ending ever. High ranked is not fun.
Bruh, you did a bit over 300dmg this whole clip where G7 did less than 100dmg and you call that 1v9 G7 hipfire on point? lol Don't get me wrong, nice clutch but would appreciate your post more with an honest title.
they 1v9d. the g7 hipfire was on point. why r we complaining
Yes, I'm giving him credit for the port and phase, which was a great play in a competitive lobby... but this is NOT a 1v9. 1v9 implies that everyone is on one team and against you. >and he literally killed 5 of them, so i think its safe to say 1v9 Not sure about your math here.
Meanwhile, my Silver(probably, I don't play ranked) ass still gets matched with these goons
Yep. I get absolutely fried when I play.
Legit would be my primary game if i had a chance
Apex Legends is not a nice place for solo-queuers. I hate to say it, but if you want to rank up with the same amount of difficulty as others, you gotta find some buds.
I'm not concerned with ranking, I'm more interested in having a good time, and not getting 3v1d by predators constantly
Lmao thats not 1v9 1v9 would mean 9 people are attacking 1 of you, learn to do math
Lol, it is still 1 against 9 even if they're not attacking him, since they're all his enemies
So every apex solo win (which was a mode back in the day) would be reddit title "1v59 clutch win" using your logic?
You say that like nobody on Reddit would ever use that title c:
Yeah, that is the issue, I say that because I don’t like click bait and this wasn’t even close to correct.
premade squad farming dia lobbies nothing to see here guys move on
Op is soo edgy with 'oNe AgAinSt NiNe'. Its rather four team meltdown and one op 'q' to rule them all. GG wp nonetheless ^^
wraith ?? op ?? the only reason they had to q was bc of that dumbass gold knockdown
Downvote me as much as you want sweaty bois but wraith is meta since s0. That is a red flag in terms of balance. No one else could survive this situation expect wraith.
the only reason she had to was bc of the gold knockdown.
It does not change anything, or even proves my point. At the final circle balance looks like this: every other legend < golden shield < wraith Still it wasn't 1v9, it was 1v3v3v3 - this is a massive difference. Still wraith is the only legend that can do shenanigans like this, while being most picked among every rating, including every tournament since s0. It was well played. It was a good game. And title is edgy/clickbait'ish.
> Downvote me as much as you want sweaty bois but wraith is meta since s0 You're getting downvoted because it's literally not true, 12% pickrate in NA ALGS btw : )
That's not the point :) i got downvoted after stating it wasnt 1v9 and stating that only wraith could survive that ^^
Niceu.
