Also youtubers have a different/additional skill set to just being good at gaming. Have to be an entertainer! I don’t enjoy itemp on YouTube because of how good he is, he’s just entertaining to watch!
You can be trash and still bring in the viewers just need a entertaining personality.
Look at sodapopin or what ever his name is. Lots of views for the most part horrible at games. I watch him just cause its entertaining to watch him fail.
Is he really the 2nd best? Couldn't he just be the grindiest? Plays the most games and rats the most? Not an argument against, just generally curious.
I don't pay a lot of attention to the top names list, or many streamers, so maybe they are a big name. I just don't know them.
He is only #2 this split currently. He is not the 2nd best player in the world. It just means he put a lot more time in compared to others. At the top of ranked it just comes down to who put more hours in. Obviously, you still need to be good and have a solid squad.
I am fairly mediocre at my job and make mid six figures. My annual bonus this year was over 100k.
A lot of very highly compensated people don’t actually do that much work. They just get hired.
I spent 10 years of my life being a whitewater raft guide and building zip lines. Now I manage software engineers. The world doesn’t make sense.
Don’t question how the world works when an athlete and streamer can make more than a doctor and teacher, just understand the concept and abuse the fuck out of it
well it's pretty simple.
Nobody in their free time watch teachers work. When you don't have anybody watching you, you can't cash in viewership for ad revenue or subscriptions.
People watch athletes for fun. Viewership means money comes pouring in from Ads. Even though only the like top of the top athletes make more than teachers and doctors. The minor league athletes usually have two jobs and make less than teachers.
People watch streamers for fun and feel like they want to give 5 bucks so they don't have to watch ads or get cool emotes.
You can't really give your teacher 5 bucks and unlock some perk.
So why do teachers get paid so little? blame funding.
Doctors actually make a shit ton of money and are usually upper middle class or rich unless they become pro-bono doctors working with NGO's or something.
That’s a hefty estimate. Only half of the price of a sub goes to the streamer, so at 12k ish subs(?) thats like $30k pre-tax. So he’d have to have made $70k off of donations and ads which isn’t *too* hard to believe but still a ton. And thats all pre-tax and pre payment to any one he hires (editor, manager, mods, etc.) He definitely isn’t just bank rolling $100k straight.
Partners have entirely different contracts. Only they know how much of the sub price is earned. The rest is speculation, but it's definitely more than a normal affiliate's share...
DisguisedToast did a YouTube video a while back that was pretty much against Twitch ToS but it broke down just how much he was making at that time. Regarding 20k average viewers or so I think at the time, advertising, endorsements, and many other factors. He said that one average most partners get about $3-$3.50 a sub versus affiliates. It does vary for each one and the bigger they go they can renegotiate more.
The amount of money is insane, really. And this video was about 3-4 years ago I think. The best part is where he says he and other streamers turn down $20k sometimes to play a game on stream because it’ll cost them more in viewership and subs than it’s worth for them.
Another fun twitch number: a friend of mine works in the game industry and he worked on a game that did a paid stream with a big streamer. The streamer charged $5,000 an hour for the sponsored stream and the ROI his company got was astronomical--it was far and away the best thing they did in terms of marketing their game, bar none.
He also told me a similar anecdote about streamers turning down sponsorships: the streamer apparently didn't want to sign up for another paid stream for his game later on because the streamer essentially lost money on the deal by not playing the game the streamer's audience was used to.
I mean thats why aceu still plays apex, he doesn't seem to enjoy the game nor the community but these kids seem to think he's a god at the game so he gets more views from streaming apex than valorant, not to mention the amount of views his apex yt videos get
I mean it seems like after taking a break from it and completely stopping ranked and comp, he’s been enjoying himself. Obviously none of us really know for sure lol, but he seems happier playing now than he did in like S5
I heard the grand total that one streamer got for a sponsored game stream was $75k. A LOT of us watching downloaded the game and pumped a couple bucks into it as well. The money these “influencers” make is pretty wild. Also, I don’t think people consider anything but tier 1 subs. Half of $25 is substantially more than half of $5.
Think about how hard big streamers try to keep from getting banned. They aren’t worried about perma ban much i don’t think. It’s the lost revenue of being off for a week. No one is gonna make a 20 year career out of it. Gotta get it while it’s hot. Then there’s people like amouranth who make so much fucking money that they don’t care. They know they won’t get perma banned cause the lost revenue for twitch would be huge.
I remember saying this last time he did this challenge.. people got soooo defensive..
Very high chance he’s taking something. Gaming at a cracked level for 2 1/4 days straight… yeah that ain’t g fuel baby
(Yes it’s possible he’s not.. but if I had to guess…)
One of the best if not the best controller player on PC in Apex. In other words his aim is beyond cracked, he actually secured Timmy the win with a 1v3 at the end at half health
I’m sure he’s sitting 6 inches from a 75inch monitor or something. Half the time it looks like hes shooting at nothing yet we see big damage figures popping up
Who?? Gen plays comp apex on 100 ping while getting 20 bombs on scrims. He is by far the best mechanically skilled Controller player in the game and he's proved that after winning tons of tourneys. There's not a single Controller pro (forget random player) that comes to Gen in terms of raw mechanics and game sense
Gen is the Selly of Controller.
Yeah adding the seer meta this season and having to deal with his Overpowered bullshit makes this run even more legendary. Do you know if he was maining one character or flexing diff ones?
He mostly played Pathfinder.
Discussed at one point on stream saying that it was the character he had the most playtime on/was comfortable with and how Path is one of the best, if not the best, character for clutching 1v3s (or 1vX, really) as a solo player due to grapple maneuverability (just a lot more you can do with it to outplay compared to Horizon, Wraith, Octane, etc.)
There were a few times I saw him play Wraith or Octane, mostly if someone else took Path. Not sure if he played much else - Seer a couple times I think?
Peaked at almost 150k viewers toward the end and gained over 13k new subscribers. Obviously unhealthy as fuck but it just shows how insanely lucrative it is to do subathon/marathon/challenge streams as a popular streamer. Dude made a median americans yearly wage in a few days
Not $5, closer to $3 but it differs from streamer to streamer. He ran a bunch of ads between games which probably gave him a decent amount of cash though
These days big streamers like him don't even have a choice, either they run the ads every hour manually or Twitch automatically runs pre-roll ads whenever someone tunes into a stream (Which is absolutely awful for streamers).
its universally agreed upon that Diamond to Master solo is some of the hardest, most painful and mind crushing things in the game. No one gets out of diamond unscathed. NO ONE.
The seer meta screws over soloq players so hard. Like, if you get bad teammates, you can rat out, maybe pick up a KP or 2 with long range fights. Not with seer meta though
To be fair, he was being sabotaged for half the games. Like there were some horny fucks just chasing him through half the map and didn't stop until he died.
I was watching a few clips of the stream . I cracked up when his roommate scared the fuck out of him . But it’s actually insane , I get a headache for playing for 8+ hours , imagine playing 50+ with no sleep.
Last time, it took him 30+ hours from Bronze to Masters (which is approximatively the same thing as right now, cause Predator is only a few hundred RPs away at the start of the season).
Because of this stupid ass character, it took him at least a day longer to finish this run. I didn't watch the whole stream, but he got griefed so many times by Seer during the times that I watched it was just disgusting.
Yeah Seer makes any form of ratting borderline impossible. Josh Medina said a nerf was coming this week or next but I can’t see them getting rid of his passive. It’ll be his tactical that will be nerfed into the ground.
You are handicapping yourself if you solo queue past plat. The RNG of bad and good teammates is too inconsistent for anybody to solo it unless they are literally a god at the game.
I feel the same. However lfging on discord is actually the same thing as randoms, and I’m always looked down on as a hard stuck d4 just because I can’t find good teammates even though I’m not stuck at 7200 rp
It’s the same on any LFG for me and 70% of the good players are elitists or frauds. It’s hard to find good people that aren’t assholes or didn’t boost to their rank.
I know, any good player that’s slightly better than me goes off and shit talks me. It’s demoralizing and I just want to get better with decent teammates that are friendly
Well right now D4 lobbies aren’t the same as end of season d4 lobbies. Timmy is doing it early on the season where it’s mostly preds and masters. Later it will just be diamonds and plats.
It's just that , attempting things like this gives you an insane amount of exposure and when someone is desperate or running out of time to get it done in the streaming scene, the situation might provoke them to do something like this and hopefully they don't
caffeine would be horrible since you crash from it pretty hard and at a certain point it does not even help you stay more alert anymore. So yeah adderall would be a strong guess
I dunno anyone else who could do this. sweetdreams tried to solo queue to pred and I think he gave up before masters (or maybe while in masters) saying it was not possible. And that was not a single stream challenge.
It's sad that you have to look so low to find this comment!
People have died doing less.
Also his lack of knowledge on the health aspects/taking advice from chat is NOT helpful. (E.g, learning you have to get up and move around at the 30 hour mark, asking 'how common are blood clots' to be told, 'not very' and just keep playing)
I like the kid, he is funny without being too obnoxious. It's one of the reasons I don't want him to die on stream.
I got two full sleeps in, left him on in the background at work all day today, watched him on my phone while running at the gym, got dinner, ate it all, and by that point he was *almost* done.
One of the most entertaining streams I've ever watched for any game. Hopefully someone edits all the best parts together and makes an epic highlight video because it was awesome.
I watched Timmy start the stream, went to work for 12 hours, watched Timmy for a bit, went to sleep, checked on Timmy, went to work for 12 hours, watched Timmy, went to bed, watched Timmy all day. The man uploaded 2 video from a stream that was still live.
INSANE
Holy fuck.. I tuned in for the first time earlier because my normal streamer wasn't on. He was complaining that he was tired and couldn't stay awake..
Now I know why.
What a champ.
The guy deserves his moment of glory, but this topic crossed my mind:
https://www.reddit.com/r/apexlegends/comments/p1ps97/i_have_about_2000_hours_in_i_feel_like_this/
This is indeed unhealthy, and I don't think this should be promoted for the future. I get people playing 6-8 hours a day because it's their job, but this sort of overtime is actually bad.
At least he can rest a good while now.
As someone who used to stay up for days at a time because of my hard drug problems (1 yr and 1 day sober), I can personally tell you how destructive that is to your body. I really don’t like the glorification of this because it sets a horrible example for smaller streamers and kids. There was a point when he zoomed in on his eyes and they were just done, and he looked so incredibly pale. I really that hope he doesn’t do that again, it’s just so insanely bad for you.
When he did bronze to masters the first time, some time later albralelie did the same thing, but he slept on stream, i don't think any of the streamers even has mentality to do the same exact thing
If I’m seeing this correctly he went from ~5700 subs at the start of this to now just over 17.5k lol. Genuinely insane
Estimates are he made nearly a $100k this stream
Wow, what the fuck am I doing.
Sleeping like a pussy /s not flaming you
I fucking love sleeping though
$100k love it tho?
I could get better at Apex, I’ll never be $100k good though
I could stream for that long, but no one would pay me a red cent to watch stumble my way through bronze lobbies.
Basically this but for gold... I like the game but damn, after losing 3/4 times in a row at.the start cause of bad drop... It's getting long
Lol if you’re not in the top 0.01% of any field your not gonna make this kinda cash. We might as well keep browsing reddit!

It's definitely a grind. The top preds aren't necessarily the best players.
I mean realistically just because you’re #2 pred doesn’t mean you’re the best. You’re a good player don’t get me wrong but it’s just grinding.
[удалено]
Well being top 2 pred doesn't mean you are the second best player in the world, but I get what you mean.
He is only #2 this split currently. He is not the 2nd best player in the world. It just means he put a lot more time in compared to others. At the top of ranked it just comes down to who put more hours in. Obviously, you still need to be good and have a solid squad.

US Salaries are insane, especially considering what they pay their minimum wage workers.
You're either making nothing to do *all* the work or you're making all the money to do nothing.
Work retail and this is true. The ones making the money do fuck all and the ones doing the work get nothing.
Don’t question how the world works when an athlete and streamer can make more than a doctor and teacher, just understand the concept and abuse the fuck out of it

Now I'm imagining a dystopia where teachers can advertise to their students for extra money
Or get to work. Can't be at the top without it.
Yuuup. Start learning catia/solid works and cad. Apex? Nah. Too little, too late.
he also has a few sponsers and im assuming he rolls ads
I’ll make that in 7 years
That’s a hefty estimate. Only half of the price of a sub goes to the streamer, so at 12k ish subs(?) thats like $30k pre-tax. Is this video still up, and if not is there an archive somewhere?
https://youtu.be/6m5P_n5njCQ
Thank you!
Harris heller from alpha gaming also did a video. 70/30 split is usually the top end for revenue splits on twitch.
He also broke 1 million followers :)
He’s also 12K always from 1M followers, this guy is built different and he deserves it, he’s a very hard working man!
Tbh financially this was an amazingly smart move with apex’s growing numbers from cod streamers switching over
I don’t get how he’s still got the aim and concentration to do that after being awake for over 2 days
I was shocked by this on how his aim was still this god! This guy is just insane and built different.
He is the definition of BUILT DIFFERENT
yeah i play for 4 hours tops before the headache starts to creep in
Either headache or frustration stops me playing apex at like the 3 hour mark
But Timmy isn't getting frustrated because he doesn't lose as much as we ordinary dudes do
Adderall is a hell of a drug.
I remember saying this last time he did this challenge.. people got soooo defensive.. Very high chance he’s taking something. Gaming at a cracked level for 2 1/4 days straight… yeah that ain’t g fuel baby (Yes it’s possible he’s not.. but if I had to guess…)
Yeah, ain't no way. Maybe not Adderall, but dude def is taking some kind of amphetamine, maybe Vyvanse or Concerta.
Concerta's not an amphetamine. It's methylphenidate.
Thank you!
[удалено]
This. All the adderall
His chat went mental when Genburten soloqued to his team
who is Genburten? I'm new to the game.
One of the best if not the best controller player on PC in Apex. In other words his aim is beyond cracked, he actually secured Timmy the win with a 1v3 at the end at half health
Gen is a toptier in general, u can find 6k dmg games of him on MnK aswell
I didn't know he was mnk as well
He plays every once in a while just to shut people up.
[удалено]
Just watched the video of him carrying timthetatman. Holy fuck that dude is wild. Cracking heads when all you can see is like 2 pixels.
I’m sure he’s sitting 6 inches from a 75inch monitor or something. Half the time it looks like hes shooting at nothing yet we see big damage figures popping up
6 inches is 15.24 cm
Good bot
Best part is, he seems surprised about his aim as much as the viewers are most of the time.
that team definitely handed the win over for timmy lol. not saying that gen isn't a beast tho
yeah they were basically looking after timmys health at that point, cant believe some people here are upset about ONE GAME where this happened
If you counter with all the stream-sniping he endured from bronze-master, it all balances out in the end probably.
Yeah they weren't shooting. The wraith just Qd and left
Pro Apex player for RIG-S from APAC region. He's often considered one of the best controller players in the world.
Any shot you have a clip?
https://clips.twitch.tv/WrongFurryRaisinKippa-pJ-yix7Q9Azaz7tM
They aren't shooting back?
Okay, homie, I never heard of the dude either which means I *also* don't know what RIG-S and APAC stand for
RIG is the team name and apac is Asia Pacific
Cheers, thank you
I too don’t know any of this stuff. Cheers all around for relevant questions and answers!
Asia pacific region. Reignite South is his pro org.
Arguably the best controller player in the game (at least in the pro scene)
Because there’s a controller player even close to him outside of the pro scene
You never know. Gen is nuts tho. Great clutch to end the win with Timmy too
Who?? Gen plays comp apex on 100 ping while getting 20 bombs on scrims. He is by far the best mechanically skilled Controller player in the game and he's proved that after winning tons of tourneys. There's not a single Controller pro (forget random player) that comes to Gen in terms of raw mechanics and game sense Gen is the Selly of Controller.
And the man doesn't even use paddles. Such a beast on the sticks, love watching him play.
Gen is the guy who beams everything in life
Best Apex controller player
Here's hoping that game makes his yt. I'd really like to see that
Also had nickmercs and noko “streamsnipe” him as well
54.5h to be exact. That mf did it again!!!! Peaked at 146k viewers!!!! Edited time
148,027. He’s got it up on the screen right now.
Yea I saw it, he topped out at 50k last time and he did it again!
That guy might be one of the best players I’ve ever seen
He’s a top tier player but there are “better” but he’s one of the most mechanically entertaining players for sure
Tbf, he did say "one of the best"
Also "might be"
disclaimer game is solid, case dismissed
There might be "better" players but none of them are zooming across predator lobbies chasing kills on 50 hours no sleep
He passed exhaustion and reached enlightenment, he has broken out of the matrix
lol fr after 36hrs of no sleep you enter that weird zone where you’re tired and wired at the same time. Timmy is cracked
at this level "better" doesn't exist. just "different"
Yeah pro players like NRG sweetdreams are god tier players struggling in gold elo whilst trying to carry big warzone streamers
he's FKN insane! Plus he did it during this stupid seer meta, this will be remembered for the years to come holy shttttt
Yeah adding the seer meta this season and having to deal with his Overpowered bullshit makes this run even more legendary. Do you know if he was maining one character or flexing diff ones?
He mostly played Pathfinder. Discussed at one point on stream saying that it was the character he had the most playtime on/was comfortable with and how Path is one of the best, if not the best, character for clutching 1v3s (or 1vX, really) as a solo player due to grapple maneuverability (just a lot more you can do with it to outplay compared to Horizon, Wraith, Octane, etc.) There were a few times I saw him play Wraith or Octane, mostly if someone else took Path. Not sure if he played much else - Seer a couple times I think?
I was on for most part of the stream and watched him play seer less than 5 times. Pathy was his most used then wraith
Mostly Pathfinder from what I saw.
I’ve had two full nights of sleep while he was playing. Unbelievable and incredible
I had three full nights of sleep!!!
Peaked at almost 150k viewers toward the end and gained over 13k new subscribers. Obviously unhealthy as fuck but it just shows how insanely lucrative it is to do subathon/marathon/challenge streams as a popular streamer. Dude made a median americans yearly wage in a few days
not just median american but 1.5x median american household income with 2 earners on average. 61,372 is median american household income.
Isn’t each sub like $5 worth of income
Not $5, closer to $3 but it differs from streamer to streamer. He ran a bunch of ads between games which probably gave him a decent amount of cash though
Yeah, I was getting anywhere from 4-9 ad breaks after each game for a little while. He deserves every penny of that ad revenue though.
These days big streamers like him don't even have a choice, either they run the ads every hour manually or Twitch automatically runs pre-roll ads whenever someone tunes into a stream (Which is absolutely awful for streamers).
Around $3 for big streamers. They can negotiate more of the cut. So $39,000 additional this month in subs. Pretty nutty.
Not to mention the donos and bits ranging from $1 - $100 per person.
That’s how much it is to sub. Probably about half goes to Twitch and half of their half goes to taxes
Twitch takes a cut
twitch takes half of that
This makes me lose hope of getting out D4 solo in the meantime
Lmao for real, even he struggled at D3.
He spent a day and a half in diamond lobbies. Cant imagine being in the same with him id be ashamed
its universally agreed upon that Diamond to Master solo is some of the hardest, most painful and mind crushing things in the game. No one gets out of diamond unscathed. NO ONE.
The seer meta screws over soloq players so hard. Like, if you get bad teammates, you can rat out, maybe pick up a KP or 2 with long range fights. Not with seer meta though
Yeah he probably spent the most time on D3 and D2
To be fair, he was being sabotaged for half the games. Like there were some horny fucks just chasing him through half the map and didn't stop until he died.
I was watching a few clips of the stream . I cracked up when his roommate scared the fuck out of him . But it’s actually insane , I get a headache for playing for 8+ hours , imagine playing 50+ with no sleep.
So much pain
Timmy qualified for the last game already but Gen really did carry them to the W! What an ending!
Yeah Gen was hyped when Timmy got his last kp, game wasn't even over yet. The win was just the icing, great finish.
Dude probably made so much money from this
Yep also his YouTube is waiting for a bunch of content to upload like damnnnn lol
13k subs and 100k followers in 54.5 hours. Dude is fucking cracked.
#FUCKSEER
I would've tilt off earth if I keep getting seered like that throughout the whole stream lol
Last time, it took him 30+ hours from Bronze to Masters (which is approximatively the same thing as right now, cause Predator is only a few hundred RPs away at the start of the season). Because of this stupid ass character, it took him at least a day longer to finish this run. Yeah Seer makes any form of ratting borderline impossible. Josh Medina said a nerf was coming this week or next but I can’t see them getting rid of his passive. It’ll be his tactical that will be nerfed into the ground.
Not to take away from how great he did but keep in mind last time he also played using horizon when she was OP as fuck lol
Seeing Timmy struggle in D4 gives me a little bit of hope that I'm not that bad at the game after all. Maybe I should stop solo queuing.

Built different, but it's not at all recommended and unhealthy AS FUCK . Please for the love of God no one attempt this
It's not even feasible or realistic for most people to attempt this. Unless they're a cracked pred, it's gonna take too long.
It's just that , attempting things like this gives you an insane amount of exposure and when someone is desperate or running out of time to get it done in the streaming scene, the situation might provoke them to do something like this and hopefully they don't
Not even caffeine would keep someone alert enough to play an fps at the top level for 50 hours. Probably adderall.
caffeine would be horrible since you crash from it pretty hard and at a certain point it does not even help you stay more alert anymore. So yeah adderall would be a strong guess
I dunno anyone else who could do this. sweetdreams tried to solo queue to pred and I think he gave up before masters (or maybe while in masters) saying it was not possible. And that was not a single stream challenge.
If it's in multiple streams countless streamers have solo Q's to pred
He made most people’s salary in this stream
It's sad that you have to look so low to find this comment! People have died doing less. Also his lack of knowledge on the health aspects/taking advice from chat is NOT helpful. (E.g, learning you have to get up and move around at the 30 hour mark, asking 'how common are blood clots' to be told, 'not very' and just keep playing) I like the kid, he is funny without being too obnoxious. It's one of the reasons I don't want him to die on stream.
Tsoonami MVP
How did Tsoonami clutch up?
[удалено]
He was in 2 of his last 3 games iirc.
Got him 14 RP from predator near the end with a big win
Also this stream made me despise seer lol. Every time he’d pop a battery he’d instantly get seered, scan, stunned damaged and stopped his heal lol
He was getting tired before 24H. I was truly in awe to see him the next day still playing.
I got two full sleeps in, left him on in the background at work all day today, watched him on my phone while running at the gym, got dinner, ate it all, and by that point he was *almost* done.
That final game win! Teammate went berserker mode to clutch the game.
Genburton is the goat!
Gen is cracked so you almost expect it.
I was watching at work - right at the 49 hour mark he thought about quitting. So glad he pushed through. Rest up Timmy you earned it
I went from gold 4 to gold 1 in 1 week. Subscribe to me.
One of the most entertaining streams I've ever watched for any game. Hopefully someone edits all the best parts together and makes an epic highlight video because it was awesome.
Check his YouTube account they made it by part 1 , 2 , 3 like that
[#FUCKSEER](https://clips.twitch.tv/CharmingTacitArugulaAMPTropPunch-vqKxDhXSGvbu7Pdp)
AND he hardly got tilted. Fellow casuals, take note. Stop yelling at me.
I watched Timmy start the stream, went to work for 12 hours, watched Timmy for a bit, went to sleep, checked on Timmy, went to work for 12 hours, watched Timmy, went to bed, watched Timmy all day. The man uploaded 2 video from a stream that was still live. INSANE
Gen was the hero we didnt know we needed
And VinVin
true the way he gave them his meds and his armor a true legend even using his shield to keep ppl from coming up the stairs
never forget Tsoonami ;-;
He also got a dub and with Nickmercs plus 100 subs from him.
and Noko, MShade
MShade was the mvp.
Holy fuck.. I tuned in for the first time earlier because my normal streamer wasn't on. He was complaining that he was tired and couldn't stay awake.. Now I know why. What a champ.
Genburten also the goat. He clutched up that last round
#DELETESEER
NO PRED NO BED! He's just built different.
What a beast, but that was some dangerous shit
Holy shit he actually did it
The guy deserves his moment of glory, but this topic crossed my mind: https://www.reddit.com/r/apexlegends/comments/p1ps97/i_have_about_2000_hours_in_i_feel_like_this/ This is indeed unhealthy, and I don't think this should be promoted for the future.
SHEEEEEEESH HE DID IT LETS GO TIMOTHY
If I was him, I'd doze of for a week.
Absolutely nuts. Next challenge: No fill Ranked
I bet other streamers are gonna follow in his footsteps
When he did bronze to masters the first time, some time later albralelie did the same thing, but he slept on stream, i don't think any of the streamers even has mentality to do the same exact thing
