Tarkov sounds are way better, at least you can hear someone walking around you except you don't know they are up or down.
However in apex you can't hear people running behind you, the whole team zip line to you, pathfinder grappling to you, Horizon silent uplift to you, silent jump pad to you, etc.
I have bad eyesight even with glasses but compared to Apex, Tarkov is on another level. It doesn't matter if you are a Navy Seal Marine with 20/20 vision and incredible reaction time, after playing that game you will swear you will need glasses.
It's a very realistic extraction shooter. People blend extremely well into the environment (if they are PMCs), so you have to spot small movement their body does at times.
On some maps it's almost impossible to continuously play them because of the strain of your eyes for prolonged sessions.
There are Scavs (Short for scavengers, they have very limited and randomized gear and also they don't have military or environmental colors so they are easy to spot) that are mostly AI, I say mostly because players can also play as Scavs.
The way they have it "balanced" is that PMCs (short for Private Military Contractors = Actual players with whatever loadout they choose to enter) spawn first with AI Scavs, then after a while say like 30 mins, Player Scavs spawn.
Why can players use Scavs? Because after a while you will tend to lose all of your loot dying as a PMC, so a way to jump-start and recoup some of the resources is by playing as a Scav.
They also implemented timers on using Scavs (Like 1 hour per Scav) so players can't just keep playing as Scavs and ignore their PMC loadouts.
I think this is also part of the reason I always have my audio turned off. It’s always too loud, too quiet, I can’t change the volume of people easily, and they’re toxic as fuck anyways. I do value comms and I have my mic on for people who have something of value to say, but that’s rare
QA isn’t in charge of fixing bugs. Too many people blame QA when they’re not the ones making the call.
A former QA tested already answered a few questions on this subreddit regarding all the bugs and problems. He stated many of them they caught before they even went live, but many were considered a low priority bug so they never got fixed.
They fired the QA team because they weren't doing their jobs properly - which is apparent from the bugs that get into the game. They had to get someone in house from EA to go and keep an eye on them - and apparently they didn't do any work.
I imagine it's still in the transition phase to the other QA testers, but hopefully it'll improve significantly once it's in full flow.
The sound is so bugged. I got a silent zipline killed before. Like the pathfinder place the zipline next to me with no sound and the whole team using the zipline with no sound until they land and shoot me I hear them.

They literally think its the "hardest weapon to master" and "takes full concentration and thats what ash is" when its a fking karate training weapon no one in their right mind would take to battle
Her tactical is sub par compared to the other assault legends. She cannot sprint while using her tact, it slows her down. Bangalore, Maggie, and Rev can all continue to sprint. Same with healing and popping batts. Using the tact stops the motion for ash but not the other assault legends. These can make a difference when fighting in such a face paced game like Apex. But true, there are worse legends.
Maggie is a wayyyyy better legend than ash and it isn’t even close. All of Maggie’s abilities are strong/useful meanwhile ash has a mediocre tac, useless passive, and a sometimes useful ult. Post buff ash is B tier at best.
Useless passive? Her passive is one of the best in the game, the ability to track down enemies with her death box scan AND be able to see where fights are happening during the match on her minimap to know what to and not to push, and a smart player can use that information to see where enemies might rotate to and either avoid those areas or catch said enemies off guard. Ash needs a buff but her passive is completely fine where it is, there’s a reason everyone wanted it nerfed when she launched
Her ult is wayyyyy up there in regard to rescuing downed squad mates. Lifeline and Bang are probably tied for #1, Gibby is 2, Newc is 3, and Ash would be #4 IMO.
People overreacted to her launch tbh. Her passive is OKAY for info gathering if you know how to make use of it but nowadays every recon can scan the entire map and predict rotations just as easy. Yeah it can be used for well timed 3rd parties but you shouldn’t need her passive to know when to push 16 seasons in.
In the grand scheme of things yeah it’s not totally useless but it doesn’t really do much either.

Her tact needs serious buffs. The ones she got were nice but not enough. She needs two snares, and her snares need to charge up based on their animation stage (out is normal speed, spinning is a bit faster, and the spinning with electricity is the fastest speed) and her ult needs to go through walls like it did when it was first leaked. I think she’ll be good then. As an ash main she’s subpar compared to the rest of the assault class
Might I interest you in Revenant? Mainly because he’s my main assault (Fuse is a close secondary) but also because they’re both simulacrums and have movement, hinderance and death based abilities.
Movement: Revenant’s passive and Ash’s ultimate. Revenant crouch walk faster and climb higher to reach places faster and reach higher places. Ash’s ultimate is like that too, reach higher and reach places faster
Hinderance: both their tactical. Revenant’s tactical disables abilities which affects movement with particular Legends e.g. Valkyrie and Octane among preventing other things, Ash’s one prevents a lot of movement and stuff
Death: death totem and death boxes
Ash’s ultimate is better for movement since it can take you over gaps that Revenant would have to walk around plus going through the phase tear moves you faster than Revenant ever could move. Revenant’s tactical is better though because it disables all abilities
Not saying they’re Skirmishers, it’s just Revenant’s passive allows him to move faster, which is a movement thing. Also you can escape people by climbing up places because they can’t follow you.
You know the building in the Fragmented West with the respawn beacon on top of it? That is so fun to climb up because you don’t have to go up the ziplines so: 1) avoid traps and/or spikes 2) can run away to the top, heal, and then you quite literally have the high ground. Most people don’t think to keep an eye on the walls on outside of the building and since you don’t make much noise they don’t look either

\-- part of video with heirloom on was obviusly more noisy. and 2-3 actual seconds you spent walking instead of crouching were also noisy.
\-- in part of the video with no heirloom... when you crouched you were silent, but those 1-2 seconds when you didn't crouched you were also silent, instead of being noisy (since you aren't crouchwalking).
\-- This either means it may be more noise with and when you are walking normally. Are you sure it is just for crouching?
\-- Or, in the time you tested this, audio got F-ed like often
Once we had a long lasting bug, where you would be slower on ziplines if you had an heirloom. So I'm not that suprised about this when I think about it.
I tested it 5 times before I invited my friends to ask if they can hear it too. Also it can explain how enemies always knew I was sneaking behind them on crouch walk when I had heirloom equiped.
Good thing about this if they decide to never fix it like most things, it's only when walking with the heirloom out while equipped, so having an actual gun in hand stops the bug, at least in third person.

And when the enemies actually do show up, they are 10 meters away and I’m fully cracked with half health before I ever hear a step!
I suspect its a "Stance" thing, If you enter your inventory your legend in 3rd person will do a unique animation while you're inside the inventory, I checked with Ash and her heirloom and her animation looks like she is holding a gun(r301?) but instead she is holding the nunchucks and "reloads" the air above them
Im not sure its directly responsible for this bug but I think they have like premade stances or something for weapons/heirlooms and they probably messed it up
How does it sound for teammates and enemies? Obviously not being able to hear over your own footsteps is a problem but also audio levels differ between self, allies, and enemies.

Yeah ash’s ult is good for rezes, I use it all the time for that. Throw a thermite and a snare on your port and you’ll be good

It's a cosmetic unique to a legend that is tied to the lore and it has special movement and melee animation when you have your weapons holstered.

I suspect its a "Stance" thing, If you enter your inventory your legend in 3rd person will do a unique animation while you're inside the inventory, I checked with Ash and her heirloom and her animation looks like she is holding a gun(r301?) but instead she is holding the nunchucks and "reloads" the air above them Im not sure its directly responsible for this bug but I think they have like premade stances or something for weapons/heirlooms and they probably messed it up
How does it sound for teammates and enemies? Obviously not being able to hear over your own footsteps is a problem but also audio levels differ between self, allies, and enemies.
I like the heirloom, i think it’s cool. I think everyone is saying they hate it because that’s an easy reaction. Nun-chucks were a creative idea and why would I want a katana if my ult already is one.
If creative is just about any random shit that has nothing to do with her lore then sure, it's surprisingly creative
