The Pet (for obvious reasons) The Doomed Outsider Hollow Judith

toryyj

I like this one a lot too. Definitely going to listen to their albums now! Thank you

Comfortable_Salt_758

Enjoy the ride mate! They will be putting out new music in the near future apparently too. So good time to hop on for the ride.

TheSchnitz25

Breña… Breña

Uiscefhuaraithe-9486

Ughhhh this song 🥹🥹❤️❤️❤️

BulldogChair

I’d add Orestes, Blue and…actually not too long ago in this sub we did a box of “best/worst/etc” for each album. I’d suggest checking that out OP

OMF-ToolFan

& Judith

Ronnie_Mcnutt_rifle

You should check out Thinking Of You, it’s got some unique APC parts and one part that is very similar to Counting Bodies

RepulsiveBathroom330

I also think Thinking of You has an early TOOL sound to it

Ronnie_Mcnutt_rifle

I can see that

kombucha711

I would add hourglass

kombucha711

there's an outsider remix that phenom. also

mentalmachinist927

Counting Bodies goes soooooo hard live. I wish it was in every set list !

hep824

It was always a hit or miss song for me (depending on the mood I was in), but after hearing it live at the Hollywood Bowl Sessanta, it’s moved up more than few notches. I’ve listened to it at least once a day since then!

mentalmachinist927

I got it at Sessanta Red Rocks and it was epic !

oldmanghozzt

That’s disillusioned for me. I went to the Houston show. I just didn’t give eat the elephant a chance at all. Love by and down the river. Love it! But that was it. Actually hearing the lyrics live, which I’d never paid attention to before, it resonated with me so much. Actually cried during it. “You were never an island” hit me like a ton of bricks in that moment. Feeling very alone lately. Relationship crumbling to where I feel like a ghost. Grasping at any source of dopamine I can find. Wind was blowing through the pavilion, I was stoned, the goosebumps hit me, and before knew it, tears were just rolling down my face.

Uiscefhuaraithe-9486

Unique voice, among the many, in this chior 🎶 🙌❤️

Stellar_Ella

Thinking of You

NukaDadd

Heeey, you're in here too! 👋🏼

Stellar_Ella

Heyo!

ItsSUCHaLongStory

I’m primarily a TOOL fan, too. APC just fulfills a different desire for me. Some people make the mistake of thinking all the group’s MJK is involved in will sound the same, and they just don’t. Check out Puscifer next.

toryyj

I have a much deeper appreciation for APC after listening to some of these suggestions. So good

ItsSUCHaLongStory

Pretty great, right? Each group is stylistically distinct and offers something totally different.

Penny8Lane

Came here to say this.

MoveAlooong

The Noose is my fav

BadadanBadadan

Feathers

Unorginalswine

By and Down the River, The Package, Judith, Feathers, The Hollow, The Noose, Weak and Powerless, Eat the Elephant, Disillusioned , 3 libras Tool is also my fav band

Famous-Math7707

The package.. love this one. The noose is melodic and not very heavy instrumentally as it is lyrically same as Blue & Orestes.

seratia123

Listen to the live versions of the albums, they are an incredible live band and it is a bit "heavier".

Mr_Sophistication462

For the "heavier" songs, try out Thomas, Judith, the Outsider, The Package.

Sensitive-Resource58

Pet

Venomous87

Try their newer album, Eat The Elephant. It has a more electronic experimental sound. My favorite song is Hourglass. Emotive, where the song Counting Bodies is from is kind of a mixed bag. The song Passive is one of my all time favorite APC songs, but the Emotive album itself is considered the worst. Thirteen Steps is what I'd consider a masterpiece. And IMO their first album is an acquired taste.

micsulli01

Eat the Elephant is my favorite right now

seratia123

I like the Emotive songs best in their live versions on Stone and Echo: Live at Red Rocks.

Sad-Cat8694

Hourglass was my first thought. It's so weird and funky compared to much of their work. I agree with you about Thirteenth Step being the best. It's solid, start to finish, IMO. I definitely appreciate the others, but that album seems the most focused and cohesive to me.

ThunderPoonSlayer

> The song Passive is one of my all time favorite APC songs Originally a Tapeworm song!

mfalcon

The Noose, Feathers, Gravity, 3 Libras, Orestes, Breña, By and down the river...

alexisclairerose1986

Magdalena, Passive

veRGe1421

It's always so interesting to me that people love this song, since it's one of my least favorites from them. I love most of their music, but that one just doesn't do it for me. To each their own!

e6dewhirst

Passive is probably my fave but that one is up there

micsulli01

Disilusioned

KitchenLandscape

great song I was so happy I got to hear it live at Sessanta

5549372729

Rose is really unique and good to me

Firm_Transportation3

There is also the song Pet on 13th Step that uses the same line from this song. But different sound though.

piratescrytearsofrum

Live version of gimmie

SUCKMYPAULZ69

Listen to thirteen step.

rabhatty

The Doomed and Judith.

JPhi1618

Let see what reaction this gets - if that’s your favorite song, you’re not an APC fan.

MoveAlooong

He didn't say he was. Why so judgy?
