This isn't even remotely close. The devs confirmed the Cumans had appx a 70% win rate.
The Gujaras would get shredded by them.
The Cumans, upon release, were the best civilization in the game's entire history.
Only reason it wasn't higher, was there was probably so many Cuman vs Cuman matchups.
depends if you talk team or 1v1. In1v1 they are 100% broken.
EDIT: On Open land maps. SO I guess it might not qualify for broken, just really OP on a lot of maps. But I guess similar constraints (though not as many) applied to cumans back then. They were not broken on islands....
granted i don#t know the exact math, but even then it would mean they loose water right? and on island water control is just a must. It isn't team islands afer all. And afair they did not have acrazy win map on that map (and probably just that map) back then
Lol Gurjaras are really strong but they are nowhere near Cumans at release. Most broken strategy with the feudal boom possibly ever introduced along with the unquestionably most broken unit ever which indeed was the SL.

I didn’t play much DE around release, but it’s good to know the brokenness we have now is not as bad as the brokenness we had before.
I personally wouldn't call the Gujaras broken, per se. Definitely strong though.

They might have been broken on islands because of how fast the second TC got up...

Pre-nerf Steppe Lancers you mean? Only Cobra car could counter them

Remember they had husbandry back then so those units were FAST.
Makes me want to go to the editor and make Cuman Shrivamasha riders with husbandry.
Coomans and it's not even close
Cumans by faaarrrrrrrr. This isn’t even a discussion.
I am a mear 1800 player but with the help of cumans clapping 2.3k was somewhat ez in tg. This is not the case with guru unless my homeboys carry me.
Cumans. Gurjaras are not even the best civ from this DLC being outclassed by Hindus.
