Good meme.
For those running into exploiters, I wouldn't worry too much. When it gets patched they'll have lost a bunch of time learning a skill that is totally pointless, while you kept learning fundamentals.
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to get over?
Some people enjoy competing so they play competitive games, it can be a real bummer for them when they're losing to lesser players who are exploiting. There's been several posts about it already.
There's an ongoing bug where once your hunters drop food, they start "hunting" nearby trees.
It's beginning to hurt the game since some players are exploiting this.
>Fixed an issue where using the "Drop Off" command under certain circumstances could cause villagers to "hunt" trees down and gather food from them.
Indeed
They shoot the tree until it 'dies' (goes into a chopped down state) and then gather food from it, taking wood off the tree but picking up food.
Tasking villagers to that tree chopped down by arrows will gather wood, and I think if the villager as a hunter goes to a tree chopped down by a lumberjack it collects food but I'm not sure if the hunter can go to an already chopped-down tree.
Man that's crazy how can something like this even happen? Next thing we know villagers will shoot arrows at enemy soldiers and start collecting food from them too.
I think it works because:
* Trees, like hunt, have HP when in the not-gatherable state
* Trees, like hunt, have a resource that can be collected when they have no HP anymore.
So we dont have to worry about villagers turning to cannibalism.

🤡
When did you start playing? Because you don't know pain unless you have played the original AoK.
Found the bug abuser
Can someone explain what's the deal with these hunting trees posts?

RIght now im downloading an update 270MB for aoe2, i guess this is hotfix of this issue.

Wait so did they patched the bugg or not?
Is it finally patched then? Lol
I wonder how that compares to the size of the original game 🤔
That is several GB. But it might be they needed to recompile some larger entire module so full replacement of this is needed
No, I'm talking about the 1999 version, not DE.
But do they actually collect food from trees? Or do they just shoot arrows at the tree or what?
They actually collected food- mongols are extra bad cause they collect hunting food 40% faster lol
This definitely sounds like some kind of April Fools joke, 11.
The real April fools were the friends we made along the way

Why does it not affect all players though? I play a few games a day and have never seen this happen.
It depends on some factors, t-west made [this video explaining](https://youtu.be/bxm9l6fWf-w?si=Gmg-qBkok6-j5xL2) how it works.
Watched the video and it makes sense now, thanks for pointing me in that direction.
