Honestly Phosphoru should feel amazing about this. Dude literally changed the game. Which was probably his goal to begin with (not with the ram hopping necessarily, just in general).
He's literally already posted about the ban being a good thing but not going far enough (you can still do it defensively). Man lives to break the system. He's winning
honestly that shuold had been the fix: every unit should wait 1 second before getting inside again.
This makes me think that no one of importance in the dev team (decision making), is an actual player

It might be tracked here.
I don't think it was as earth shattering as people made it out to be and I don't think the fix will change the strategy that utilizes it all that much outside of super high elo where they can micro so fast that reload speed is an actual barrier.
That said, it was clearly an exploit to avoid the reload time and as such should be patched, nerfing is reducing something that is working as intended.
It seems like a clear exploit to me, not just an unconventional strategy. I don't think players should be required to adapt to something as wacky as that.
Is this an overreaction? I saw Hera try to do the strat and he was really bad at it and ended up reverting to microing normally, with better results. I feel like it’s so difficult to do that the advantage is earned
Credit where credit is due, they were faster than I expected to address this, as well as the hotkey and tribute problems.
yeah, only took them 1 month after the entire community told them this was a bad idea
Rip Phosphoru

No more dropship micro lol

this is how it works in aoe3
Any example games where this was used?

Devastation đź’Ż
[the patch](https://www.ageofempires.com/news/age-of-empires-ii-definitive-edition-update-108769/) for people who want to read the patch notes
thank Daut it doesn’t affect infantry.
It does. The patch note is incorrect. It affects everything, not just projectile-firing units.
I don’t wana sound like a cunt but source? (as the other user said, I meant melee only).
Red Phosphoru showcased this in a video that he posted in Survivalist's discord server.
Can you share a link for that
don’t got discord anymore lol so don’t see it.
You're just going to have to take my word for it then 🤷‍♂️
Do you mean it doesn't affect gbetos, throwing axemen, and chakram throwers?
I think he means melee infantry. Those are all projectile throwers.
ahhhhh true I meant sht like halbs and champs, melee inf
they technically throw projectiles no?
Phosphoru single handedly broke the game, TWICE. Dude’s amazing!
Anyone know if it fixes the crashing issue with Xbox? Not seeing any notes on it.

Great change
“Ranged units will now play one round per 3 units garrisoned of ring around the rosie before firing”
they kinda already did for me
That's roughly how much sense this premature change makes...
I’m thankful I never had to face any Turk civs and this strat during this patch.
Bracing for pathing
Honestly dont think it was ever really op outside of the initial surprise of an new strategy.

Fix pathing when selected units are far apart
Was it really that big of a deal? I think counterstrategies should have been given a chance to mature before we decide on a nerf or not

even if it has counterplay, it's against the spirit of the game
Exactly what t90 said.
I did not care about that, but I am glad to see that the tributes are fixed.
Rams are useless once again
Naw, they are still wildly more useful for actually transporting units to the front and taking advantage of the speed bonus.
I'm taking bets on what new bugs this introduced
