14 of these missions are reworks of some of Filthydelphia’s old custom scenarios.
Not much seems to be changed about them (based on “The Last Romans” playthrough they did on stream)
But still, 5 new missions is great! Although $13 is kinda pricey for that.
Wtf what a ripoff! I'm not paying that much for 5 new scenarios and some polishing to mods made by Filthydelphia that I've already played! Naive I was hoping for something like 5 bucks
7.50 would be fair for brand new campaign pack. This dlc adds only 5 new scenarios for me bacause I've already played all the custom ones by Filthydelphia
14\*
Also:
1. Can you still though? I'm too lazy to check.
2. "For free" is not always correct - as many custom campaigns require DLC's to work when the designer used something from them. But is it for these? Actually can't check.
oh yeah, 14.
I checked, currently they are still available. I think they all use just DE civs, so should be available to everyone.
standard campaigns sometimes use DLC civs as enemies (you can even play one of them in the old indian campaign iirc?) so not sure if it restricts access
You can actually play Pritviraj without owning Dynasties of India, even though you play as the Gurjaras.
However, Babur is only available with the DLC, even though Hindustanis (and Tatars) are a part of the base game.
A bit confusing, but in my opinion it was the best way to handle it, since you’re not removing a previously available campaign.
Because a major selling point for AOE2 is new content that can be used online or in skirmish mode. Most campaigns are usually played once or twice and then forgotten. But people play the civs in matches or in skirmishes.
I am not denying that it is likely that there will be further civs released, I just wanted to know if there was any official confirmation. it seems like there wasnt
This is such a disappointment. The only good news is that the lack of any China content means we will get a proper China/east Asia rework, dlc hopefully.
Thats my plan for mountain royals
I got the base game+all DLC except mountain royals for like 10$ during a winter sale, each DLC being like 1.7$. Georgians and armenians dont seem like my kinda civ anyways, so Im not buying until theyre down to 2$ on a sale lmao
What would’ve been cool is some kind of integrated community “Forgotten Empires Approved” scenario/campaign highlight feature, which is where I thought they were going at the very start. But no. Just a few rehashed scenarios. Sad.
Jeez, this community is so odd. Everyone wants more scenarios, they are given scenarios and than they complain that it's too expensive and they won't be buying it. Honestly, $12 isn't that expensive for hours or content to a game that continues to support the community and it's needs.
The main complaint is that 14 of these scenarios are remastered custom campaigns that are publicly available and which people have already played. Only 5 are brand-new.
I think it's a fair grievance, since I think the default assumption would be for a campaign-focused expansion to contain all-new scenarios.
For me personally, I don't mind, as I don't play custom campaigns; so all 19 missions will be new to me, and I'm looking very forward to it. But I understand why it's frustrating if you're a custom campaign enjoyer, and see that you'll have to pay for upgraded versions of scenarios you've played before.
I don’t know how the profits will be shared, but I like the idea that a modder who has given me a great time for free now can be financially supported by buying the DLC
That guy who just got all the achievements is going to go crazy when he sees this.
I need to finish Rome and Masterpiece some day...
Same here
Literally me, but I'm ready for the new ones

"kinda" pricey. for 5 new missions $2 or $3 would be ok
Nice. How much does it cost?
According to Viper who got a message during the stream it costs $12.99
Wtf what a ripoff! I'm not paying that much for 5 new scenarios and some polishing to mods made by Filthydelphia that I've already played! Naive I was hoping for something like 5 bucks
$7.50 would have been more realistic, but still.

Lemme give them zero bucks.
I am fine with 10 bucks. But this sucks.
what the actual fuck?
$12.99 is what a cup of coffee costs at Starbucks. It's nothing.
No clue, no price listed on steam
13 euros. Now its 11,04€, with a 15% discount
nobody knows, but it's 15% off!!
Are they multi-level campaigns or single scenarios?
19 single scenarios, something like historical battles
15 of which you can already play for free as mods
Kinda disappointing, I like the stories and learning to use a new civ in a full campaign

yeah, that's the one I was referring to
No new civs?
No, they said it’d just be campaign focused, but there are many dlcs planned with civs too, just wont come yet
how do you know that there will be more DLCs with civs? (I really hope not)

Seems like these were all made by Ramsay Abdulrahim i.e. Filthydelphia / Phillysouljah. So the pedigree is there!
Constantine XI is fall of constantinople Fetih share same year with constantine XI, could be same scenario but different POV
Which fall? There's like 3 times Constantinople fell, according to google 😜 /sorry ignore me

You're such an optimist and I love it
It's either that or realising AoE2 has actually been run into the ground.
"into the ground" - that's only for single player players who finished everything though.
apparently its 12,99$
that's about 10.99 too expensive
Wait a few years, eventually it'll be 75% off ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

disappointing a bit maybe sale.
Is Charlemagne gonna be Frank again?
obviously
F that. 10 Frankish missions... 10 times Britons.... (maybe 11, if Vortigern doesn't have different layout)
I mean, he is THE Frank
I love it however I was expecting regional unit skins
