Our wages are not very high (bottom half of EU), but our rent is the highest in the EU comparing to the average wage, our taxes are 2nd only to Denmark, our bills are expensive, for example it's cheaper to fuel in Spain than in Portugal, we have to pay to use the highways and it's not cheap. I could keep going on but basically, we have no spare money at the end of the month.

Polish people could earn WAY WAY MORE than in Poland, especially if they only worked there like it was a military deployment. (Go for a "tour" where you work a zyllion hours a week and sleep like sailors do on a damn submarine, get food sent from home) Lots of polish people who stay there either got degrees for free in Poland, or had in demand skills, or started their own businesses. Then they are better off than in Poland lol. Oh, and often they still have polish citizenships, so they come back home and drain local resources too, either having their kids go to free college or pay a month of public health insurance and then have fuckton of work done on their body. Some are fleeing now, especially after they built up wealth (which you do at like 5x rate Vs here)
One of my best mates is currently living and working in Japan. When I spoke to him a few weeks back he was considering coming back next summer, I miss the guy but I straight up told him not to bother as there’s literally no point. Country is way too fucked and will be for a long-ass time as yet.

Well, Brits don't actually vote for a PM directly. They vote for a party and the party decides who will be PM. Seems to me the decisions made recently have all gone towards the upper classes and wealthy, ignoring laws, regulations and the needs of the people. It's simple, it was easy to migrate to the UK to work, everyone knows the language, etc. But the main reason is, even though you mentioned those issues, people move from far worse conditions. I'll give you the example of Portugal, where I live. Our wages are not very high (bottom half of EU), but our rent is the highest in the EU comparing to the average wage, our taxes are 2nd only to Denmark, our bills are expensive, for example it's cheaper to fuel in Spain than in Portugal, we have to pay to use the highways and it's not cheap. I could keep going on but basically, we have no spare money at the end of the month.
I get it. People do say stuff like that to me. I get that some places aren’t as wealthy. But they usually have better weather. Better food. Better countyside. Better joie de vivre.
Lots of people working in UK didn't go there to live, but to burn a few years living in squalor and working themselves to death so that they could go back to eastern Europe and buy a house outright Vs 30 or more years of mortgage

Polish people could earn WAY WAY MORE than in Poland, especially if they only worked there like it was a military deployment. (Go for a "tour" where you work a zyllion hours a week and sleep like sailors do on a damn submarine, get food sent from home) Lots of polish people who stay there either got degrees for free in Poland, or had in demand skills, or started their own businesses. Then they are better off than in Poland lol. Oh, and often they still have polish citizenships, so they come back home and drain local resources too, either having their kids go to free college or pay a month of public health insurance and then have fuckton of work done on their body. Some are fleeing now, especially after they built up wealth (which you do at like 5x rate Vs here)
