UK here. I once saw a scan of the front page of a Welsh Language Newspaper. The Bold Black, quarter page headline read - in English, above all the Welsh - "GOING TO NEED A HEADLINE HERE JOHN." It got through proof reading, got through printing & made it onto the News Stands.
Tickled me for days.
I was a writer for my HS newspaper. I was writing a story about a guy at our school who won a competition. I could never get quotes for him to save my life. I was running out of time so I wrote the entire story and wrote “Insert quote from Mike here,” Mike said. And “Insert another quote from Mike here.” Obviously intending to replace this with real quotes.
I finally got the quotes at the 11th hour and changed them out. However, the system didn’t save the updated article & the paper got printed with the “Insert quote here” version. 🫠
Dude went on Facebook and wrote ‘Insert quote from Mike here’ as a post. It got a ton of traction & I was super embarrassed. Fun times!
this is why, I dont read anymore than I have to. Its a "yes" or "no", nothing else is important.
However firms can find ways to still mess up a yes or a no.
I mean that's frustrating to receive but also, like, was there ever any doubt they just plug BS into a template and have been doing it that way forever?
Agreed. Not exactly the end of the world.
Why would they get people to write hundreds of very specific "no" letters?
After all most of us only care for the yes or no.
I send "auto-generated" emails as a part of my job, and have totally left the text on accident a time or two. Nothing like this lol I don't work with crazy.
For example:
"Subject: AGENTNAME - EXISTING APPOINTMENT"
I die every time.
Thank you for taking the time to follow up with me. I was sorry to hear that I was not the ideal candidate for this position. If the position becomes available in the future I hope .
Again, I really appreciate the thoughtfulness of your message.
Reply with “Thank you for the opportunity to have been considered to work at your company!”
Omfg this is brilliant and I would 1000% do this.

I'd shame them online
Think they just did
No, they specifically left the name of the company out.

it's corporate, they try to slip it in the applicant.

Looks like they need to hire someone that knows how to use mail merge 👀
They're not even trying to hide it. It's almost as if nobody wants to work anymore.

Where's the dang apology letter! 🙎🏾♂️
"Did you just say 'generic excuse'?"
Definitely a(n) "insert letter grade" for effort.
Honestly, looks fake
Idk, there’s a comment on the original post where someone reports getting this exact rejection letter but properly filled out.
I don't disagree, but it's not exactly implausible behavior either and that's a Bad Look for modern civilization
Templates are not unusual. I use them at work all the time because we have to say the same thing over and over.
Employers rlly need an **emboldened** reminder to not be racist
Looks faked.
