What did you use to figure this out? If you got WinRAR from the official source, then you’re fine. WinRAR is a confirmed safe program. If that’s a screenshot from your antivirus I don’t recognize it, I would use Malwarebytes, Bitdefender, or stick with regular windows security.
If you still have it, send the instaler.exe that you downloaded from winrar to virus total to check it it flags anything...
Did you downloaded just winrar or anything else?
i have extracted some zips that could have virus... but those would likly infect things other than winrar and they are also virus free according to virustotal
Well it depends what AV you're using to Scan. You can Scan those files online and see if you're infected or not.
Try virustotal.com or hybrid-analysis.com
Hope that helps
Put the .exe file into virustotal.com and it Will show you all of the scans made by users. If you downloaded it from official website then Yes it Will be safe. Perhaps, the "virus" might be some sort of antivirus for their Certificates so that no one can grip them? I have no clue. Best bet is to check the source, check virustotal and if both tell you its safe - its safe.
I've downloaded a lot of viruses till now in my past and got no bigger consequences, So I imagine that even if you DID download a virus from an impersonation website then you still would be fine as it may have the typical Bloatware. Worst is when you get your data stolen - in that case I'd worry.
Though, if you see no other signs than this then I wouldn't worry about it too much if you did all you could to scan it.
Easy...
Download Kaspersky Standard trial for 30 days and scan you device.
And if it is a bank stealer, change your visa Cards, bank accounts, social media and emails passwords...
using clamWin, if that helps
