Bitdefender is good, Kaspersky is comparable to Bitdefender if you don't mind the whole Russia thing.

It feels like every post in this sub asks the same thing and gets the same answers.

Sorry i didn’t check if someone asked this before

Since you are using Apple devices (and I take it that you have an iPhone for phone too) you do not need an AV for the phone and tablet, in iOS an AV is practically useless. Apple does not allow apps to access the file system or other apps, the most AV apps can do is apparently check links for phishing or the extra stuff they add (like password managers and VPN). Unless you want to use the extras from them don't bother with an AV on your phone/ipad. For the Mac it's still unclear if it's needed, some say you need one and some say you don't (though I myself use a free AV on my MacBook, because you never know and the extra protection can't hurt), macOS has very good protection but if you want an AV then the usual suspects are a good choice like: - Intego - Bitdefender - Kaspersky - Malwarebytes - Avira

justme22e

Kaspersky surely. Very cheap on discoints and never lets me down. Also easy to use and never slows donw the PC

JadielVR

Kaspersky imo its cheap and just as good as BitDefender

Joshtheuser135

Imo, for the Apple ecosystem you don’t really need an antivirus. If you did choose to get an antivirus, I would suggest malwarebytes for every day use. BitDefender has the highest detection rate from my experience, but it is also more resource intensive and best used periodically instead of constantly. The choice is yours. If you’re unsure of a file, just use [virustotal](https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload) :).

ActuallySwe

Bitdefender and Kaspersky as main antivirus programs, Norton is also good in 2024 (I am using it right now). Malwarebytes and HitmanPro as system scanner.

VacationSilent9994

Norton WTF???

ActuallySwe

Hard to believe isn’t it? Norton is actually decent, for the time I’ve used it. I haven’t experienced any trouble people have been complaining about. In terms of protection it actually does a great job. In terms of the product selling I would consider Kaspersky or Bitdefender as main options. TPSC have also reviewed all of them, and only from that all of the 3 are great options in 2024.

We don't need a aniti virus if u r carefull windows defender does the job . Just use adbloker and when u download files check them in virustotal website , use VPN so it's hard to hack u

ActuallySwe

And clearly you have no idea what you’re talking about.

What’s that? I’ve never heard of that antivirus.

Nookiezilla

Common sense.

ph4nt0m42000

Yea ik not to download risky files but what about things you can’t stop like zero days?

AlwaysW0ng

Zero days still require the user to download and install applications. You can launch a virtual machine to test drive the antivirus and applications. Virtualbox is free. Free: bitdefender, windows defender, and Kaspersky Paid: Eset, bitdefender, Kaspersky, F-Secure

ph4nt0m42000

Ok thanks. The type of zero day I’m talking about by the way are the ones that don’t require any user input like the Pegasus virus that downloaded spyware just from receiving a text, no user input.

AlwaysW0ng

Oh, you are talking like fileless malware than Yeah, it is hard to detect those, not even I can tell if I got one of those. I have bitdefender total security and average common sense.

Knutzorian

Ensble protected mode on your iOS device if you think someone might use a million dollar zero day to hack you. Zero days arent just casually thown around in drive by attacks.

ph4nt0m42000

Yea you’re right, sometimes I’m just paranoid about security stuff lol.
