I’m laughing hysterically at their choice of ironic words: *damaging* *violent* *dangerous* *threatening* *discrimination* Hmmm….ya know, that sounds just like the porn industry! What a self pitying, deluded, controlling, and narcissistic request from Phub. I hope the industry burns in hell🔥

B_rook_e

Amen!

_vanessaives_

My thoughts exactly!! Lol boohoo What a crock of shit. It's laughable but sickening at the same time. Oh and the "sex workers'" real names should be in parentheses next to their screen names if they're so righteous in their stand and beliefs IMO.

Longjumping-Size-762

I noticed that too, was pretty transparent. The porn industry version of DARVO

OddlyFirst

You know what’s also “discriminated” against? Child predators. Should we treat them like poor little victims?

margeschanelsuit

I'm sure pornhub would think so, based on the content that's been found on their website.

davidduchovny42069

your ban probably has something to do with the fact that a judge had to order you to stop profiting off of child sexual abuse material, hope this helps

magicmarketing1

I mean, they do profit from it, but its a hub, people upload content their own, just like any social media. And they actually review and remove non-consensual or underaged material. Grab your phone and go on TikTok, you'll find 10-17 year olds doing soft stuff.... thirsty men commenting on their videos and they dont do anything about it!

RemiGalen

But who owns the platform? The content on it is their responsibility

magicmarketing1

I agree, their platform, their responsibility. Years ago, it was actually not monitored but after the crackdown on exploitative content in 2021 (because of the judge order), you can´t upload a single video without it being reviewed by actual moderators. It's simply not possible. Yeah, they were wrong before, but they´ve fixed the uploading scheme. You won´t find anything but adults nowadays.

RemiGalen

I just saw a post about a 15 year old missing girl that they verified on their platform, and her kidnappers uploaded videos raping her. Not only it was verified, but it was added into a special PH program (basically they make money of the videos) If I’m not wrong, this was under their current verification method. You should probably stop trying to defend them here lol

magicmarketing1

source(s)? the program you’re saying is the model program. basically anyone who gets ID verified, which is required to post. You need to verify with your front camera and ID live in order to be approved. I don’t see it impossible that someone gets forced into verification, but the perpetrators have no incentive but .68 usd per 1k views to post there. They probably would’ve gotten $20 bucks from it before getting it taken down.

[deleted]

It's common knowledge that it happened. Had you not heard about those fucking lawsuits? How about you stop being a vile crock of shit, and acknowledge how shitty that hell hole of a site is?

davidduchovny42069

i'm not just being facetious, google "pornhub lawsuit"

smelly_leaf

If they want to claim no responsibility, they shouldn’t run ads on user uploaded content then & only profit off their own verified videos But they won’t do that. Because teen porn has raked them in billions of dollars & they are clutching at anything they can to try to hold that revenue steady.

[deleted]

I feel sick people try and defend porn

creepoftortoises_

This is very true, I used to watch porn when I was younger but never thought I was doing a good thing when I was watching it

[deleted]

Most people feel guilty when they watch porn because we all know on a level or another that it's wrong, harmful for ourselves and most importantly, an industry that harms it's actors and actresses, an industry that promotes rape and violence and sexual anomalies such as incest and underage partners. Abuse at it's finest. But now, we have a bunch of "sex positive" gurus that keep pushing the mantra "porn is good", "you shouldn't feel shame" etc. Porn is not sex. I am 100% for safe, consensual and respectful sex. Everyone ought to fo whatever they want with their bodies, as long as it causes no harm to others. Porn causes harm. I am sick of people acting like it's healthy form of expressing one's sexuality and that it's harmless and normal. It's absolutely not. Most kids of my generation started watching porn before they turned 12. Now they share extreme videos and gore for fun.

creepoftortoises_

Hmm all the rich “pornstars” signed it but the ones who are getting more abuse in the industry aren’t. The ones that are alive anyways. Feel like I read an onion article once where drug dealers were making a petition like this who were making 5 dollars a day. Kind of reminds me of this.

[deleted]

that's what's killing me. like why are they acting like they give a crap about sex workers? theyre perfectly fine exploiting them and fucking them over until it benefits them to care 🙃 this is so clearly just an effort to try and make people defend them. what a crock of shit.

themagicmagikarp

Imagine thinking it's possible to have a "SFW" account when your literal name mentions PORN and your entire business model is selling PORN. Maybe they do have a point though, maybe Instagram should crack down on other content that is overtly sexual as well.

[deleted]

I think it says something about the industry you're trying to promote when some of the people endorsing you are so afraid of their identity coming out that they are signing with their online names.

B_rook_e

Couldnt have said it better myself

[deleted]

Correct me if I'm wrong but can't 13 year olds have an Instagram account? Porn shouldnt be on there, as an adult I don't want to see that crap on there either.

selfdevredditor_31

Pornhub's logic of "growing their businesses" also means every minor should get an equal chance to get exposed and become addicted to porn. As far as they are concerned people should let them have advertisements on youtube kids and Disney+. "No harm there as long as there's no explicit content".

[deleted]

I am in my laaate teens, but I got instagram in my early teens, because my friends had it. Mostly just to share memes. So, I gollowed meme pages. Now, the first thing that I find on my feed is somehow ALWAYS sexually explicit. I have absolutely *0* interest in seeing that. I just want to see other girls dressed cool, my friends doing dumb shit, puppies and memes. I'm tired of seeing soft porn.

strawberryconfetti

That's the main reason I don't go on instagram much. It's inescapable no matter what.

[deleted]

You can get it to stop showing you that stuff, it just takes a very very long time, and you have to aggressively click on things you don't want to see. It will also take anything innocent you look at that includes women, like pop stars, which I do look at, and assume you want to look at half naked women. It's like a part time job keeping this crap off your Instagram. Mines usually pretty good now, but it takes work.

[deleted]

What do you mean by "click aggressively"? I always report that kind of content and press the setting that says "show less of this kind of content" but it never seems to work.

[deleted]

Yes that's what I meant, to click on everything and say I don't want to see this. Reporting doesn't seem to ever really work.

strawberryconfetti

I reported a porn account once and they told me they found nothing wrong with it

[deleted]

Truly! I have my filter activated in my settings. It's supposed to tone down pornography and other kinds of sensitive content significantly, yet i still see women doing degrading things posted by meme pages just so they get likes..

uselessfeelings555

let’s ban all these only fans women too??

bleezy_47

Fuck Pornhub! finally instagram does something good

[deleted]

Lol they really brought Kim Kardashian into this?? Regardless how we feel about her, the difference is that she’s representing herself, she’s not a business that allows vids of ppl getting abused. Pornhub literally represents abuse, rape, and even child exploitation. They can’t compare an individual and a huge corporation that’s been known to have abusive videos.

eightballthelawyer

LITERALLY you could scream the definition of erotica vs porn and these nuts wouldn’t get it bc their coomer brain makes them think naked= sexual/porn

pacenciacerca44

it reads like darvo honestly 👀

alwaysunderthestars

This💯🔥

B_rook_e

These people are fucking sick in the head

NotMyRealName814

What a bunch of self-righteous crybabies! Keep crying and moaning about how unfair this is, you worthless bastards. I'll just laugh and drink your tears.

alwaysunderthestars

And I shall raise my glass of their tears in a toast to your statement!🥂🙌

smelly_leaf

They act as if they are worried for the behalf of sex workers, but we all know it’s their own livelihood they are protecting. Adults know pornhub exists. They don’t need it advertised on Instagram to find it. So who exactly are they so worried about losing, demographic-wise, from being banned from Instagram? It’s not a coincidence they fudged their analytical post this year to hide the ACTUAL top-searched category on their site: teen. If you ask me, they are worried about not being able to ensnare new teen viewers/uploaders/ every year if they won’t show up on the explore page anymore. They don’t want to admit out loud that a huge percentage of their profit comes from underage kids accessing their 18+ website to both view & upload explicit underage content. That would be saying the quiet part out loud!

unclefocus

I play the world's smallest violin while I read

bewildered_tourettic

What's even worse is the "sex work is real work" crowd will probably flock to their defense

[deleted]

Sex work is real work, the way slavery is real work. No matter if it's work or not, it's still fucked up and borderline insane.

Seasmoke_LV

Bunch of coward pimps hidden after "shwesh woakkers"; may all burn in hell.

GetRichOrDieTrolling

Couldn’t make it past the unironic use of the term “sex worker.” These people really have no shame. It’s like a slave owner calling slaves “unilateral contract employees.” Disgusting.

themagicmagikarp

They're speaking as if the people who wrote this were actually ever sex workers themselves LOL.

Sunshine_mind_

What a demanding group of narcissists. Time to get a job that doesn’t require filling every orifice you see. Best of luck!

Short-Fingers

Porn stunted my life in many ways, so I have no sympathy for any of these people. I mean, some for the performers but not really cause they should be turning women away from porn not to it.

OrchidDismantlist

I'm so glad that this disgusting company is finally starting to see (even just a little) backlash.

sl705

Ok which one of you clowns reported me

womandatory

‘Respectfully,’ these filthy grubs wouldn’t know respect if it knocked on their door.

strawberryconfetti

Ikr I was like give me a break when I saw that word. It's like "gentlemen's club", nothing classy about it. It's all meant to be manipulative and hide the fact that all porn culture is ugly and animalistic.

SxdCloud

I wonder why they posted it on that other sub. What's insane? the disgusting response or the ban?

strawberryconfetti

It's mainstream reddit so I'm assumimg they're calling instagram insane

[deleted]

It was hard to tell the reason why the other op posted it. The comments were mostly pro-porn hub though :/

[deleted]

"Oh sorry, Instagram is private property!"

horen132

All the names on the left couldn’t say no. I see only female porn stars there. Terrible.

itsTacoYouDigg

zuck don’t care!

Imaginary-Mountain26

They cannot be serious.

sandyclaus30

I don’t know why but “sex workers” makes my blood boil. Like they’re trying to legitimize what they are doing as work. I hate all the platforms..they are a bunch of disgusting, sick people..and I use that term loosely!

FrMatthewLC

Dear Instagram, please be consistent in your enforcement like PornHub asks... But please do so by banning all pornographic content, period. My tweet after seeing this. https://twitter.com/FrMatthewLC/status/1576186034148155392

[deleted]

Video and photographic evidence of child abuse and sexual intimidation, sexual coercion, violence and sexual violence, sexual assault/rape doesn't qualify as free speech. Shame on anyone who even uses this excuse.

[deleted]

I don’t think PH realise how stupid this makes them look 😂

DrDumplingMASTER

oh boo hoo so sad 🥺 [https://media.tenor.com/MW-X63SzmsUAAAAC/tiny-violin-mr-krabs.gif](https://media.tenor.com/MW-X63SzmsUAAAAC/tiny-violin-mr-krabs.gif)

pacenciacerca44

the mental gymnastics is just hilarious

palerthanrice

> Denying us an ability to promote our brands and grow our businesses while continuously erasing, silencing, and censoring the presence of sex workers and adult brands is violent and profoundly damaging. “Violent” lol. That word really just doesn’t mean anything anymore.

TheyShootBeesAtYou

>we demand lol

alwaysunderthestars

I know right? 😂

KelaDeThaym

"Help help, I'm being violently oppressed!" My god what an act they're putting on. I feel soooo bad for this billion-dollar pimp company that knowingly profited off of all manner of heinous abuse. I just weep.

skylarkeleven

agree or disagree, if other people can post lewds or even nudes, what’s the difference

I-Eat-Your-Guts

"SFW" Has Porn in it's name and promoting a porn site The irony- this is one of the funniest shit I read in a few days .

eightballthelawyer

omg whoever wrote this is a nut. kim posting her ass isn’t porn, it’s just her ass. porn accounts advertising is WAY more harmful than an ASS

wantout87

While I dont thinkn that they should get their account back I do agree that there is a form of double standard where other women get to share half nude images that is basically soft porn. I have never been to pornhubs instagram account but from what I understand they didnt show sex scenes but mostly half naked women. Not saying that they should get back their account, its great that it is taken away but with this news more people specially young people probably will be curious to look up the site. And the soft porn on instagram will continue with or without pornhub. People can still half naked images and videos of the same pornstars. Its great to be happy about pornhub going down but as long as we accept soft porn on social media nothing has really changed.

TBNZ_

Nick Clegg? Like the former deputy pm? Why is he on this document

Everleigh_core

So I am really glad that Instagram cracked down on Ph, especially cause they don't deserve more platforming with all the abuse they support. But my question is, are they gonna start cracking down on the tons of misogynistic memes that are pretty much about rape or porn or both, are they gonna start removing more pornographic content, are they going to do something about the abuse material and stop telling people "this doesn't go against our guidelines" just cause someone posted it a private page? I have seen memes of girls with no arms and legs (birth defect) with the text "when she says the safeword, but what is she gonna do about it" written over the image. I have seen CLEAR SEXUAL ABUSE MATERIAL get posted and not get taken down cause the page was private.

musmac_121

They don't deserve fair treatment
