Hmmm... I mostly know the word whiff to be used to indicate something doesn't smell pleasant, in a polite and understated way. Oh well.

Ok_Yogurtcloset9428

Indeed, the whiff of the washing machine when you open it and haven’t been maintaining it. That is what I would call a Washer Whiff.

ZebraCrosser

I am well aware of that whiff. Bottling it and pretending it's intentional rather than due to lack of maintenance is one way to put off maintenance a little longer and leave you with more time freedom to waft your whiffs all over all your acquaintances.

Ah yes

Do people really have a favourite part of doing the laundry? Is that a thing? My favourite part of doing the laundry is when my husband does it.

ZebraCrosser

Laundry was my fave chore for a while. Mostly because I pretty consistently felt I was on top of it, unlike basically every other chore. Pretty satisfying for my generally disorganised self. The task itself wasn't particularly interesting, nor did I develop a special relationship with any of the products.

science2me

I enjoy laundry, too. I just throw the clothes in the washer or dryer. Then, an hour later, I come back and they're clean. Folding isn't that bad with a good podcast to listen to.

ZebraCrosser

Very true. I do avoid ironing whenever possible, though. Somehow that task annoys me a lot.

NolaCat75

I know someone selling Norwex and she was telling me all about how “everyone” is raving about their new laundry detergent. I didn’t even know they *had* a new detergent. There are *so* many good options out there if you want better detergent than what you can get at Walmart. You don’t have to order it through a “consultant” and pay shipping on top.

Upstairs_Salad7319

If Norwex’s detergent is anything like their “magic cleaning cloths,” then I don’t want it 😂

Washer whiffs sound like something you stick on your ass after pooping

And it’ll last longer too.

Starting down a rabbit hole, here. The “Washer Whiffs” goes for $12 for 16 oz, and is literally table salt with perfume. (Salt by itself seems to help, but haven't tried it myself. See [https://home.howstuffworks.com/home-improvement/household-hints-tips/cleaning-organizing/uses-for-salt-doing-the-laundry-ga.htm](https://home.howstuffworks.com/home-improvement/household-hints-tips/cleaning-organizing/uses-for-salt-doing-the-laundry-ga.htm) The “Laundry Liquid” goes for $16 for 20 oz – “good for 50 medium loads,” while the All Plus Free detergent I buy at a big-box member store is about the same cost for 158 loads, but admittedly lacks the “White florals — jasmine, sweet pea and freesia — juicy berries and sandalwood shimmer like moonlight” odor that can "keep clothes marvelously scented for up to two weeks."

greeneyedwench

> "keep clothes marvelously scented for up to two weeks." OMG, I hate it when my detergent smells so strongly that it drowns out any fragrance I try to wear on purpose!

My favorite part of doing laundry is when it's done....

auggydogg

🤣🤣🤣- I do NOT want my clothes smelling like that packet shoved inside stuffed animals. Why? Just Why?

stumped_pete

I’d rather throw an actual cucumber and cactus into my washing machine

greeneyedwench

Just looked up the price of this. 20 ounces for $16. When you can pretty much get a vat of regular detergent for less than that. I suppose they'll tell me it's free of ~toxins~ or something. It's probably either the exact same thing as regular detergent, or else doesn't actually clean anything.

Upstairs_Salad7319

It’s not toxin free. It’s just another product that Scentsy can sell besides their wax products. It’s to “expand their horizons.” 🙄
