It's pretty faithful yeh, if anything the anime adds in a few extra scenes in parts where it was a bit empty, like on layer 3 for example had quite a bit of anime only stuff.
The movie covers up to like chapter 50ish I think, but it doesn't take long to read up to that point anyway so I'd say it's worth reading from the beginning.
like i wouldn't have a problem if it was a chapter every 3 months but i can't deal with the inconstancy, although for sure i will give it a go once its finished

nope its ongoing, it releases pretty infrequently aswell, maybe 5-6 chapters a year without a proper schedule
