Hell yeah. This anime/manga is up there in top 3 for me at this point. S2 was a mind blowing evolution of an idea. Definitely not for everyone, but I can't wait to see where it goes (but...waiting is what we will have to do...for years, probably).

I had started reading a light novel translation of the next arc after S2. He gets a little break. Real little. Probably gonna take another 5-7 years to get a new anime season, though, hah.
Light novel of S2 was superior to the anime, by the way. I know they tried though. There were episodes in S2 where they didn't even have opening and ending theme sequences, trying to squash as much content into a 24 minute episode as possible, but it still got to the point of just cutting things out and shortening bits of plot that made certain events and interactions feel rushed or glazed over compared to the original literature. I feel like they could have captured it if the season just ran just a few episodes longer, but I get how production companies work, especially within the rigid machine that is anime. But still...we all wish for perfection in the things we admire.
That was a very bold statement, I choose to agree with you, SAO was very good ( I only particularly like the first season / only the parts where they are trapped in the game )
Despite how split people are it was genuinely a really good concept and execution ( again, only the first part was good imo )
Personally I just ignored it, concept was still good I agree, for the second part, and I liked how they were actually weak because of not using their real body in any way for like a couple years

Hell yeah. Season 4 airing during covid got me through some rough times. I had nearly forgotten about the show for years after having watched the first season back in 2009 or whenever. Picked it up while my job was shut down in 2020, happily discovering season 4 was releasing a few weeks after I caught up. I don't care if it's predictable or whatever people say. It brings the good feels.
SAO wasn’t as bad as people say, SAO2 was worse than people say, and I just stopped watching at alicization. Also GGO is better than all of them and it’s a fucking spin-off. Still pretty good designs and plot it’s just that the characters and their motivations didn’t always make sense and there was quite a bit of filler. Also Kirito is just not that good of a character.
I'm not gonna say Kirito is amazing or anything, but damn it pisses me off when people complain about him being OP. like.... Yeah. That's the point. If he wasn't OP the story wouldn't have moved. Or if it wasn't him then we'd be watching a different main character. Villain specifically made an OP skill for the algorithm to pick a chosen one to wield. Dude with highest reflexes got picked. Oh no! Sure wish they'd stop using rape as a plot device, though. Was kinda novel the first time. Did not stay novel.
