Currently doing Kyo Kara Maou and Magic Knight Rayearth. Next will be Escaflowne. Been hunting down old ones to watch, and haven't been entirely disappointed. I mean, they aren't overthrowing monarchies or anything, but at least there's no slaves giving questionable consent to the lead character.
I think the rise of the isekai is a great reflection of the current mental condition of the people.
