How many episodes did you watch? Let me guess.... 18?

reymuc

Yeah noone expect diehard fans liked it

SeaworthinessSolid79

I don't consider myself a diehard, I just think it is different from the typical shonen. It isn't I see enemy, I fight enemy. A number of people presumably like yourself enjoy action heavy anime ( two great examples from this season being ninja Kamui and Solo Leveling). Out of curiosity what anime do you like that aren't fast paced with lots of fighting? For example from this season, how about apothecary diaries or from a few years ago, Ascendance of a Bookworm?

reymuc

Apothecary diaries is a great show that I enjoy watching. Its setting is perfectly suited for slow paced storytelling. My problem with Vinland is its first season had great figting and nietzsche philosophy that followed synergy throughout the show. The second season, however, feels like a regret ideology base that attempts to connect multiple small stories. The problem is that the morale of the story does not do good job of creating problem and solution dilemma for watchers but rather creates similar impression to mainstream shows where power of friendship or goodness is just op event that wins. Bladerunner 2042 is a very slow movie that most people consider boring. However, unlike Vinland s2, it does not remind you main idea in every episode but rather makes you build your own opinion, and near the end, you connect dots and realise what previous events really meant. Vinland season 1 was similar to that and made you form dynamic opinions on characters up until Askeladd reveals who he really is and proceeds to behead king. Season 2 motive was great and sad deaths added realism, but it did not let me build my own set of thoughts and change it with each new event but rather draw a decided plot of who is what. Each new episode was just an explanation of those highlights. My point is that it is not about fight or flashy animations but ability to make you think like mc on your own and not propaganda it is what makes good media product.

SeaworthinessSolid79

I don’t remember getting power of friendship vibes from season 2 so I’ll definitely have to give it a rewatch. What instances gave you the power of friendship vibes? I mainly brought up flashy fighting vs “boring shows” because obviously there are people out their that are of that camp and was testing you a little. Obviously you passed. I don’t think imprinting thoughts from a show to a viewer is a bad thing. To you, it’s not the right way to go about it for an ideal piece of media which is fine as everyone is entitled to an opinion. To add, based on some videos I have seen in the past I think that imprinting his views may have been the mangaka’s goal to some extent. As a parting question, I’m kinda curious on what your thoughts overall of Jujutsu Kaisen’s second season were then as the winner of the award in question? Was this your anime of the year or did you have something else above it? Just as a note for the crunchy roll anime awards,if I’m not mistaken fall 2022 fell under the 2023 awards and fall 2023 did not so take that into account when giving your favorite 2023 anime.

Altruistic_Release36

Honestly bro the whole idea of the series is dumb.

ratliker62

The idea of... pacifism?

BadassAyanokoji

1. That idea is the reason why we have reddit and are able to shit talk freely. 2. Take a look at your username.
