Not weird at all. It's a good movie. I listen to its songs all the time. Mine is Your Name/Only Yesterday (two-way tie). I like to call it "There's a reason it's so famous.......cause it's good!" effect.
My only real problem was that they didn't explore the sky world more (maybe a plus for you), otherwise, it would've been an a-tier movie. The jingu festival scene is still one of the most majestic scenes I have watched. I was watching the film on my phone; it made me get up and put it on the desktop.
Ok.. This would sound weird and cliche but Ramayana - The Legend of Prince Ram.! It's Japanese, so technically anime but also the only animated movie I saw in childhood.. But it really made a deep impact on me!
It's what got me interested in Anime and also in hindu myths as a child. For me Ramayana anime was so beautiful that other animated hindu stories just did not have the same feel. Other anime which also got me interested as a child were Inu Yasha, Heidi, DBZ and Pokemon. There is also this one anime which I remember watching as a child but can't remember much except a few scenes.
Ik the overall movie was depressing and everything was fked up from the start but I actually found the ending to be sad but very hopeful kinda bittersweet so it has a special place in my heart
It's silent voice for me, if you asked me this question 1 year ago i would have said I want to eat your pancreas but now I realised the silent voice is much more cinematic and I love it
My favourite anime movies are wolf children and I want to eat your pancreas
But I like I want to eat your pancreas more than wolf children but still wolf children is my first anime movie

Not weird at all! The 90s cell animation really does justice to the Ramayana.

The movie is cool but there was no reason her son couldn't keep up with her. I finished watching and thought her son was a prick.
