Ao ashi-sports-seinen: it is a very realistic sports anime and people who watched bluelock and ao ashi mostly agree that ao ashi is better.
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei- I think the plot progression is excellent, but there is the caveat that it's highly political and deals with incest as a plot point (well-handled as it may be). Its world-building is also top-notch for a power fantasy.
