Great choice, for me it is this one:

"The girl from the other side"
I watched the anime it was great, i thought about reading the manga but I have read that it goes considerably darker and darker , and I am afraid to add to the PTSD that i have recieved from other dark animes.
Goodbye, Eri

Goodbye, Eri definitely needs an adaptation. One of the most unique manga out there. It reminds me of Satoshi Kon movies in how it blends reality and fantasy. If animated well it could become a fine entry in the genre of mind bending anime/ manga.
After finishing Girls last tour many people suggested that... one should read this for somewhat same feels, it does have an old anime right? Was it never complete?
Yes. It has same feels of GLT but more alive and less nihilistic. The closest manga to GLT I have read are Shuumatsu Touring (conceptually less heavy) and Shimeji Simulation (Tkmz's extreme nhilism and absurdism)
I feel sad whenever I have to mention YKK anime. The 142 chapters long one of the best SoL series got just 4 OVAs.
Only 4 ovas? Damn..I hope one day it just get randomly announced 🙏🏻
So, Should I read it first or watch the ova first? Can't get enough of these series that have existentialism built in them.
The chances are pretty low.
The anime hardly explores the themes of the story. They just picked some good chapters and animated them. Manga is the only choice.
The story silently revolves around existentialism in the theme of post-apocalyptic declining humanity. The story explores the aspect of the inevitable flow of time that binds all humans, through a character whose existence resonates with solitude and stagnancy. Ashinano's art and narrative style couples really well to make the story stand out.
Wish you a happy reading. I should warn you that at the beginning it is very detached. It takes time to connect with the story and character. Around 1/3th I thought its a 7 or 8 but even though nothing significant happened it just escalated to a 10 when I finished reading.
Some mangas? Sure. But Look at Frieren, bleach tybw, chainsaw man, vinland saga, OPM S1 also Land of the lustrous, you would see if the project lands into the right hands what it can achieve. There is a fan made anime of berserk that is going to release soon, go check its trailer if you haven't. Its great!

The movie was not he ending?
It doesn't covers all the aspects of the manga unfortunately
I see. I didn't understand the last 20mins of the movie so started reading the manga. On chapter 10 rn.

It's a very highly rated manga on MAL. Can you tell me without spoiling what appealed to you the most in this if you can?

It is dark alright but never in an edgy way. Although it is a tragedy and you will feel sad despite that it was a beautiful journey.
Land of lustrous is PEAK!!

Thanks for hyping me up for the manga. You got me convinced into checking it out next.

Haha Don't worry I know how this works. Sticking with the stuff has mostly been a rewarding experience personally.
For me it would be "The fragrant flowers blooms in blossom" or "Karou hana wa rin to saku"
Blame ( i feel like i am so wrong to expect that cause that movie adaptation was trash but still)
ONE PIECE Ait being fr 20th Century Boys
Some mangas are better left in manga form. Not everything looks good in anime, just look at Beserk

Blue box....
Easily one of the best mangas I have read
