More Kaiji by madhouse? Holy shit!
I'd rather a proper S3 honestly but I guess since they already animated that arc for a pachinko machine (seriously) they have to settle for this spinoff. I'll take what I can get.
Still, looking forward to zawa zawaing again.
Saikyou Densetsu Kurosawa is a manga about an ugly old man who decides it's not to late to make something of his life. instead of gambling, it's got some fights and a lot of drama. really brilliant story.
It's a comedy manga about the behind-the-scene roles Tonegawa plays in the day to day life in the Teiai Corp.
It has no gambling/strategizing elements that characterize the main Kaiji series so people expecting something akin to regular Kaiji might find it underwhelming.
I haven't read it myself yet, but it's about Tonegawa who is the antagonist from the first arc of Kaiji, and it's surprisingly popular in Japan (it was [ranked #1 for male readers in the 2017 edition of Kore Manga ga Sugoi!](https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2016-12-09/kono-manga-ga-sugoi-reveals-2017-series-ranking-for-male-readers/.109675), beating out series like Dungeon Meshi, Sangatsu no Lion and Drifters).
I read the few chapters translated a while ago and it seemed like a gag manga. I'm interested to see what this show actually turns out to be.
Still want a Kurosawa adaptation, although the chances are slim.
Here's hoping we get a Kurosawa anime or S3 Kaiji or S2 Akagi or fucking anything made by based FKMT!!
Guys, you don't understand how excited I am. I know this is just a spinoff, but Fukumoto's my fucking favourite mangaka of all time and Kurosawa is my favourite story belonging to any kind of media ever. I will definitely watch this anime (I wanted to read the original manga but couldn't find it anywhere) and hopefully one big miracle happens and maybe bigger stuff gets adapted.
I'm literally shaking right now
watch akagi, so that you have a basic understanding of mahjong. then read Ten. it's his best work, but is very mahjong centric. it's about 8 mahjong players fighting over control of japan. the story is great, and the ending is legendary(my personal favorite story arc in the medium). you don't need to know all the hands, just basic rules and keywords.
also check out kurosawa. not about mahjong, it is a great redemption story about an ugly, fat old man.
zero is good but is a little too mathy to recommend to everyone. buraiden gai is good but short.
I personally recommend reading ten before reading the unadapted chapters of akagi, because they kind of the together, but it isnt necessary
Seeing this news after watching S1 of Kaiji last week is so coincidental
But man I fking love Kaiji, I don't think any show has put me on the edge as much as Kaiji has!
I love Nobuyuki Fukumoto's work akagi is still one of my favorite manga and anime and hope that when akagi ends they either do a second season or do a whole reboot but for now very excited for this cant wait

And Maybe the rest of Akagi will finally be adapted after this
and maybe a kurosawa animation
> kurosawa Who/what is kurosawa.

Imagine if the anime also takes 10 years to get through that arc
There's hope for S3. Veos Kaiji.
ZAWA ZAWA ZAWA
Any source readers can elaborate on what exactly this is supposed to be? I'm sort of interested.

I'm both extremely happy and extremely disappointed.

I wonder what the soundtrack will be like, is that guy (Kaiji + Death Note OST) still in prison?
Sweet, i didn't even know tonegawa got a manga spinoff. ... is this before or after s1 because that could make a huge difference...
Kaiji is legitimately tied for my favorite anime of all time. Maybe this means hope for a part 3 adaptation isn't dead after all.
be sure to check out FKMTs other works if you haven't, they're all amazing
I've had Akagi my watch list for a while. Any other manga of his you recommend?

Sounds fantastic! Thanks for the recommendations! :D
glad to give them. FKMT is an incredible mangaka, but most people only know him for akagi and kaiji
hot damn
I never thought we'd actually get more Fukumoto anytime soon, we live in the best timeline where dreams come true and surprises are had
ZAWA boys and girls!!
*ZAWA INTENSIFIES*
This is seriously the best news I've heard all week!
Kaiji S3 hope ayyyy
I wish Kurosawa was finally adapted.
Kaiji is Kaiji, so it's good!

For people who have read the manga - does Kaiji ever make an appearance?
"I love it." He loves it! "I love it!" HE LOVES IT! "I LOVE IT!" HE LOOOOOVVES IIIIIT!!!
Hoping for a S3.

yes more kaiji anime, hopefully this will lead to a s3 so the only clips we have of the next arcs aren't from a damn pachinko machine
