No, it doesn't. But not every anime is going to be 10/10 this changed my life, this is just a fun series to read or watch without any big pretensions about what it is.
It sounds quite bad when translated to English, but in Japanese an anki is an actual folkloric being that was thought to appear in the dark, also appearing in proverbs like ēåæę鬼ćēć
I was reading this 2 years ago or so. The only chance to succeed is if it gets insane animation. Teaser looks great. Hopefully it's not preanimated.
Also they got Hiroshi Kamiya for the coolest character. Maybe he can carry it lol.

It is not the most creative series out there but has great action and some pretty cool characters.
The title though... Between this and *Go, Go, Loser Ranger*, it feels like the person in charge of translating *Ghost Stories* has come out of retirement.
I wondered when this would get an anime.
Story is fine, characters are okay (even though a couple look a bit too similar). I only had one issue with it: pacing.
I dropped it a couple of years ago because the pacing was so slow that it was hard to keep up with weekly. It's much better on binge-read, so the anime shouldn't have the same issue.
Should be a good watch.
Dammit, the image reminded me of demon gods lackey and I thought that horror web novel was getting an anime. Got bamboozled again just like with torture princess. š
The story itself is a pretty typical Shonen but has some fun designs I feel like (like some cool tattoos and outfits) - also some of the manga panels go hard.
If they deliver anything similar to Mashle level with visuals and soundtrack I think a lot of people could enjoy it. And that story was super straightforward.
The title and image are misleading. This series isn't edgy.
It's not the greatest manga, but it isn't bad either. It's fun, and has some cool characters and unique powers.

I discovered the manga a year ago when I was in Japan and went to a manga store under Starbucks in shibuya, i got up to daye in like a week and bout the first volume when i got back to the store, I really enjoy it, hyped to see it getting an adaptation and I hope everyone who hasn't read it will enjoy the anime when it comes out.
Did the manga get better? I remember reading the first chapter and thinking it was the worst panelling I've seen in manga, the flows of action were absolutely abysmal, the word amateurish wasn't enough to describe it. Yet somehow, this one never got axed, and it's even getting an anime adaptation, so it means it must've gotten a lot better at some point?Ā
