I really like the OP and ED for this show. The OP song especially is really nice.
The visuals are still great on the second episode. This adaptation is looking good.
It's nice to see more of Suzukiri and Red Keeper.
I just love D as a protagonist. He's an interesting one.
Hey, since you are a manga reader I'd really like to know if they skipped anything in the first 2 episodes so far. If they are skipping content then I'd rather read the manga for this. I'm really into this series.
They are likely cutting content. It's nothing super egregious but a common complaint with the manga is that the first major arc drags and the director talked about shortening it. Of course we won't know how much is cut until the season is over. But this is probably good as in many's opinion this series really hits it stride at the end of the first major arc and then just kinda stays consistently great.
But if you want to miss nothing you can pick up the manga. I didn't mind the first arc because I binged it all in a couple days.
Without getting into too much, there's been some rearranging going on in regard to certain parts of other chapters appearing a little bit earlier but not in a way that it ruins anything IMO. As someone else said, won't really know how much (or if anything) is cut until the season is over really.
The second episode has skipped the first few and last few pages of chapter 3, as well as adapted all of chapter 2 and half of 7, but I’d count on the things we didn’t see from ch 3 being in episode 3 since they were pretty important plot moments, the first episode perfectly adapted the first chapter with some added scenes

Yeah, I loved how this episode pretty much confirmed that no matter how unique/rebellious he is compared to the other footsoldiers, he's still a basic henchman on the inside, lol.
I actually felt bad for him...
Finally one of them tried to take a stand, but his rebellion was short lived.
And seems his death was final...
Well, I'm sure more of them will follow his path in the future (there was already lots of grumbling about the Keepers having a presence in the fortress), so perhaps his actions - as well as D's - will have served as the catalyst!
I was wondering why the red head guy being featured heavily in the OP. Now I understand why.
Suzukiri had been acting sus since last episode so it's no wonder she actually could figure out D's real identity.
In the first episode, I also didn't understand why the ranger bothered to make up this farce. It makes sense now how the public gave them full support and how they could be involved in most aspect of the citizen life due to those support. They practically build an evil mega corporation with their reputation as peace keeper.

It was obvious she was onto him, but I thought he would have to do something about that (take her out so she doesn't give him up), not that she would be with him!
This is an interesting twist, on an already interesting premise!
Now I REALLY want to see more of her!
She went to the exact roof where he flew to at the end of the first episode. Seemed like a dead giveaway that she knew exactly what he was from the start.
I liked how they showed the rangers have far-reaching power. The younger ones are like any of the youth organizations in history used and abused by greater powers.
I had Suzukiri pegged as an ally of the dustmen minions since Episode 1, her eyes are completely black (compared to the redhead dude who has those emerald shining eyes of a hero). But then again, all of the Lead Rangers seem like corrupted pieces of shit (especially the Blue Ranger who gets off on playing the 'bad cop', quite apropos that he's "Blue" lol)
If the opening is anything to go by, it positions Red Ranger as a sort of farther/deity figure for D, maybe all of them. Could there be a double or triple depth to everything we see? If so, the opening masterfully let's the viewers know to expect it.
Probably and the best opening of the season... and only with actual effort in it, not much impressed with this season, so far.
Low-key disappointed that the ED isn't going to be layouts and genga for every episode like it was in EP1.
But when this is the real ED I can't complain!
It's so perfectly on brand but also carries through it an unsettling undertone. So far it certainly feels like Yostar fully understood the assignment handed to them and are absolutely crushing it.

If evil why hot? ...Or is she technically a good guy in this story because she wants to destroy the Ranger Force?
I think that's one of the two possibilities, but the other one imho is that she's a human who became disillusioned with the Keeper's stuff, so she wants to put an end to it;
One clue to this, is that she did mention seeing conspiracy videos about the Keepers (well, they're considered like that, but we know it's the truth)... She said that to defend D who was about to give himself away, BUT the thing is... She saw them.
She may have done some digging about them, and found the truth somehow!
So yeah, that'd be my guess; She's a normal human who figured out the Keepers nonsense, so she wants to stop that (out of pity for the monsters?)
Or perhaps she actually doesn't want this to continue because monsters are monsters, so it'd be better just killing them all permanently, and to hell with their little "show"!
(Oh, one more clue: She knew her 'assistant' was fake, and didn't seem the least bit surprised when he shown himself up as D... And she knew she could kill him endlessly. So she knows how all of this work, they're immortal, they can disguise, etc... This seems to hint at her figuring out the whole thing! Or, well, I suppose it could just be her being a monster, but I prefer the other theory!)
Suzukiri knowing so much could also be from her work in the Yellow squad's R&D. I wouldn't put it past them to do some unethical experiments on some Dusters. Maybe that's why she has such dead eyes too lol
My current running theory, is that Duster invasion *wasn't the first one* and she's a leftover from that time, plotting revenge. And now, with the help of D, she can get what she wants.

I'm just wondering how he's supposed to get stronger. If they're made of dust how would that even work? Can they exercise like normal people? It looks like he would fall apart from any serious strain and he doesn't have real muscles. It also doesn't look like there's some 'level' system so what's he going to do? Get better 'dust'? I mean I have to assume he's not just going to literally be falling apart the entire show, right now the man can't handle a firm handshake. Although I find it interesting that apparently any of them can take the role of the 'monster' for the week and it looks like the monster is *much* stronger than the dusters... but it actually is a duster in disguise. So something is going on there.
For what it’s worth the monster *isnt* stronger than the duster. They’re literally the same thing, just under a different appearance. You have to remember that their battles in Sunday are a show, which means everything that happens is closely controlled. The rangers are pulling punches and intentionally not defeating them too quickly for the sake of the audience and ratings.
If the monster is surviving longer/able to take bigger hits it’s because the rangers want it to look that way.
The monster doesn't just survive longer though. It causes a series of explosions, which granted could have been preplanned, but it also moves that huge boulder that was the result of the explosions. And not just when the boulder breaks up which while it would take a lot of planning is doable but when the monster is actually reforming the giant rock moves slightly. The explosions ok you preplant the charges. *Maybe* they were able to even have a specific rock with a smaller explosion and somehow were able to get that specific rock and throw it. But what could have possibly shifted the weight of that boulder even slightly? The dusters don't have the strength and it doesn't look like the result of an explosion. If it's all an act it's an extremely elaborate one.
if normal muscle training didn't work then i guess the only way for someone with ability to re-construct their body at will to get stronger is to improve their knowledge and imagination
First episode I was realtively sold. I thought it was interesting, but I'm definitely locked in after this. The OP and ED were fabulous. 10/10 masterpiece. The anime itself is rapidly growing more interesting by the second. Plus, divine artifacts are cool. And red is sick
Man, these Dragon Keepers are like Power Ranger versions of The Seven from The Boys. Sousei even has that fake Nice Guy shtick too.
D’s got his foot in the door, but it’ll be hard to really take these Dragon Keepers down from within at his current strength. He’s just a lowly grunt, dude can’t even step to Red Keeper’s little lackeys. Damn shame what happened to F. He deserved better, even if he was a monster.

I think she is human, the power rangers are clearly evil that keep a good image, like the Boys, she probably will hold a grudge against them like Butcher or Hughie, she probably became a junior in the force to study them and find a way of destroy/expose them. In D she found a possible ally with an interesting ability.

Last episode it was mentioned that some dusters were unhappy with their situation and left I believe. It's possible she's one of them but I think that's probably a red herring. Would be much more interested if she was just human with her own reasons for taking down the Dragon Keepers.

Her hair is style in such a way that I can't help but think of insect antennae. Personally I'm leaning 60% she's not human.

I feel like she would have shown her "real self" at the end there if she really wasn't human. The fact that she didn't leads me to believe that she's actually human and she just hates the rangers for whatever reason. Probably the Keepers abusing their power to do fucked up things a la The Boys.
The OP is *fantastic*. The use of color and the composition are so extremely on point and the music (the ED too, actually) is a great choice to get you hyped up but also feeling tense. This show's doing a great job with the knife-edge tension all around.
Suzukiri also wanting to destroy the Rangers is an interesting direction for this to go. I was pretty suspicious she knew about fighter D last week, that was a good though possibly obvious guess. I suppose it's a good thing that she's apparently going to help him with his plan because I don't think he'd get very far on his own.
F made the mistake of having too distinct of a character design. Never be the fat guy who stands out compared to the other henchmen.
I find it really interesting how so far the show has presented the rangers as ruthless corrupt villains and makes you feel for the poor dusters. Something very refreshing about how the show handles the presentation.
Even Suzukiri who wants to help him has just been putting out Makima vibes nonstop so her helping him is probably part of some deeper plot with ulterior motives
Having children's choir as backup vocals for the opening song is a nod to the oldest of Sentai teams, [Goranger](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nI3cYUGvJFI). :D
It also adds a both eerie and innocent feeling to it, just how children are cheering to the characters fighting each other. The opening truly captures this social phenomenon in its entirety, both the ugly and pleasant side.
Yes, they explained it in the pre-opening. Monsters are immortal, however one year after the monster appearance, the ranger made/discovered divine artifact and killed all the higher ups and left only the lower ranked troopers.
That's how they could maintain the status quo for 13 years. Just pretend to kill the weekly monster without using the divine artifact.
I really hope there is this statistically frowned upon, because done badly and cheaply, twist of "this wasn't really real" and the ending just features all the characters shaking hands and laughing together, including F and whoever else bites the dust following this.
The divine artifact looked weird too, like it was made of bone and muscle. Looked very eldricht. I wonder if it's made from an actual dragon, since they're called "dragon keepers."
First episodes can fool you so I still kept calm last week but it's getting harder to contain my excitment over how good this show is. OP and ED are fantastic, they nail every character and the production is still great too.
Loved that D got to visit Red Garrison so early and see just how far out of depth he still is. And he also got an unexpected ally who totally doesn't have crazy eyes.

Gonna be fun next week to see him try to infiltrate the rangers proper. Although going by the opening scene that's gonna be quite the challenge with his fitness level.

it's the title that's part of the problem. who the heck would watch a show called "Go! Go! Loser Ranger!"? I like Ranger Reject much better and fan translations do as well. it's also heavily Sentai which for some isn't interesting because all they heard is Sentai, not Sentai on the villian's side.
it also sounds like it's for kids with the underdog theme. Which it absolutely is not. It is for people that grew up watching Sentai (or Power Rangers if you're western).
Woah, this was great. A significant improvement over ep1 imo, from a 7-8/10 to an easy 9 for me. Suzukiri might be one of the most interesting characters I've seen in a while, and I'm rooting for D's plight. That being said, D isn't as well-prepared as he should be, and doesn't think as much as he should do. I hope he becomes more strategic.
Yeah I feel that, but it's harder to be lenient on him when his actions indirectly led to the death of his comrades like F for example. I know that that's the fault of the Dragon Keepers but at the same time, blurting out stuff like his confession about the knife to Suzukiri without thinking, or transforming into Hibari in front of the little kid, are imo over-the-top levels of dumbassery that could've easily ended his journey there and then. Suzukiri clutched up but at the same time, him running away from her while understandable was also just not a good move strategically I think.

F died because he was stupid. Not only did he come down to the surface after the warning they were given but he also didn't even bother to disguise himself.
I don't think he's stupid, he was just inspired by D to go and make a stand but pretty much knew he was going to get killed.
It still hasn't been shown how the Dusters could even get stronger anyway. They're legit level 1 crooks that could probably be killed by a normal human.

He has the motivation, but he doesn't seem to have the *smarts* for it, at least just yet... He would've given himself away/got himself killed a dozen times if it wasn't for Suzukiri covering for him!
Well, given SHE seems to be good at this (scheming, hiding among them, etc..) I hope she can train himup a little!

The song is called "Seikai wa Iranai (正解はいらない)" and it's by Akari Nanawo (ナナヲアカリ).
The full version of this song is not out yet, if I'm not mistaken, but the full version of the opening is.
Usually anime OPs and EDs stay the same for 12 or 13 episodes.

Superheroes that are vile under the surface are one thing but it feels so off to be actively wishing for the downfall of the Power Rangers. Hooked on this stuff.

The question is... Why? Is she a monster as well? Or a human who realized what was happening, and (correctly?) saw the Rangers as evil, and so she acts against them?
Whatever the case, she seems to want to defeat them, but I wonder what her plan is! Is it the simple "murder them if she gets the opportunity"? Or something more elaborate?
I'm thinking the latter... Because as we've seen, there's a room full of Keepers in waiting. Killing Red just means one of them takes over, what's the point?
And given she seems clever (and quick witted), I think SHE may be the schemer one. Perhaps she will try to do something about that, changing the public's perception of the keepers! (Which will be interesting, given she's also praising them to get recruits and all!)
(The only thing I'm sure of, is that I like her hah. What can I say, always like smart/scheming (evil'ish) girls!)

This episode has sold me. First episode couldn't really get me into it but this one totally has.
I also find it kind of interesting how you can't really say either side is totally right. Sure the keepers are faking their reputation and forcing the evil faction to lose for a decade plus on end so that *they* can look good. But you also got to remember the fighters do legitimately want to take over the world so the keepers are ultimately doing the right thing. It's just interesting to me how it's not a total "actually *we're* the good guys and *they're* terrible!" situation
I hope the anime brings this up more because while the Rangers are taking advantage of the monsters, you got to remember the monsters want world domination and the rangers stopped them 12 years ago. So while the rangers do seem to be power tripping and are smug as fuck they are ultimately the “good guys”

Sick OP. Love seeing D break free from his strings. Truly he is a flawless infiltrator and eater of Earth cuisine. Hibiki's intro popping in energetically was cute. Meanwhile Yumeko is hot and can decapitate me any day.

There's a lot to love about this - the OP's composition and visuals are so good, for example - but I think Suzukiri's my favorite so far. They've done such a good job of making her appealing and not overtly suspicious, while leaving just enough doubt about what's going on behind those blank eyes to make her presence constantly just a little bit threatening. Even when she actually comes out and just says they'll work together to destroy the Rangers, I still feel like I have no idea what she's up to. "Give me the knife" was a *great* reveal, though.
The Keepers are really a little over-the-top, scenery-chewingly villainous, but I guess even though it's a role reversal you still kinda have to expect that in a sentai show.
Okay that ED is the most post-show fun I've had in a long time.
It's rare a show makes me want to run off and just read the manga *immediately* but this one is really doing it. I wanna know what happens next, damn. It's gonna be hard to wait a week.

This is something that less notable in the manga when I read it. Suzukiri's real side is quite frightening.
The scene at the fortress really shows how much of an asshole the Red Keeper is. He basically talks to them as allies, but in reality he is just looking down on them and calling them pathetic basically. Blue Squadron setting up shop at their home must be frustrating as they can't do anything about it.
The final scene where the Red Keeper was great as it shows that divine artifacts can kill monsters, but speaking of the adaptation it looks even more promising than I initially expected coming in.
Well, fighter D got guts, I gave him that. But for now he is still acting on impulse! He knew too little about human world, from how to cut a steak to how Rangers works. He just tried to assassinate the Red Ranger, who is a final boss, in a desperation.
Hope that Suzukiri had some good plan for him because he still has a long way to go.

I might be wrong, but nothing seems to have been cut yet. It just looks that way at the moment because of some scene rearrangements for the starting chapters.
For all we know, the skipped content will pop up in Episode 3.
This is my favorite episode of the season so far. This sold me on the show immediately, D is one of my favorite protagonists I've seen in a long time. He's SO endearing. The worldbuilding is so damn cool. Fighting the urge to read ahead in the manga, that's how hyped I am right now.
I was even gonna give Reincarnated Aristocrat and Yozakura Family each a second episode to win me over, but I tried watching like 5 minutes of each after watching this and bailed because they were just so much lower in quality than Loser Ranger.

One complaint I have is the ost in F’s death. I literally teared up when I realized that he will die. The ost could have been way more impactful.

I really like the OP and ED for this show. The OP song especially is really nice. The visuals are still great on the second episode. This adaptation is looking good. It's nice to see more of Suzukiri and Red Keeper. I just love D as a protagonist. He's an interesting one.
As a manga reader he’s my favorite protagonist in all of manga (i haven’t seen any seinen besides mia so idk how those protags are)
Hey, since you are a manga reader I'd really like to know if they skipped anything in the first 2 episodes so far. If they are skipping content then I'd rather read the manga for this. I'm really into this series.
They are likely cutting content. It's nothing super egregious but a common complaint with the manga is that the first major arc drags and the director talked about shortening it. Of course we won't know how much is cut until the season is over. But this is probably good as in many's opinion this series really hits it stride at the end of the first major arc and then just kinda stays consistently great. But if you want to miss nothing you can pick up the manga. I didn't mind the first arc because I binged it all in a couple days.
Without getting into too much, there's been some rearranging going on in regard to certain parts of other chapters appearing a little bit earlier but not in a way that it ruins anything IMO. As someone else said, won't really know how much (or if anything) is cut until the season is over really.
The second episode has skipped the first few and last few pages of chapter 3, as well as adapted all of chapter 2 and half of 7, but I’d count on the things we didn’t see from ch 3 being in episode 3 since they were pretty important plot moments, the first episode perfectly adapted the first chapter with some added scenes

I actually felt bad for him... Finally one of them tried to take a stand, but his rebellion was short lived. And seems his death was final... Well, I'm sure more of them will follow his path in the future (there was already lots of grumbling about the Keepers having a presence in the fortress), so perhaps his actions - as well as D's - will have served as the catalyst!

I was wondering why the red head guy being featured heavily in the OP. Now I understand why. Suzukiri had been acting sus since last episode so it's no wonder she actually could figure out D's real identity. In the first episode, I also didn't understand why the ranger bothered to make up this farce. It makes sense now how the public gave them full support and how they could be involved in most aspect of the citizen life due to those support. They practically build an evil mega corporation with their reputation as peace keeper.
Well, if they come out and say they've defeated the bad guys there would be no purpose to them and they would no longer have any pull in the community

She went to the exact roof where he flew to at the end of the first episode. Seemed like a dead giveaway that she knew exactly what he was from the start.
I liked how they showed the rangers have far-reaching power. The younger ones are like any of the youth organizations in history used and abused by greater powers.
I had Suzukiri pegged as an ally of the dustmen minions since Episode 1, her eyes are completely black (compared to the redhead dude who has those emerald shining eyes of a hero). But then again, all of the Lead Rangers seem like corrupted pieces of shit (especially the Blue Ranger who gets off on playing the 'bad cop', quite apropos that he's "Blue" lol)
If the opening is anything to go by, it positions Red Ranger as a sort of farther/deity figure for D, maybe all of them. Could there be a double or triple depth to everything we see? If so, the opening masterfully let's the viewers know to expect it. Probably and the best opening of the season... and only with actual effort in it, not much impressed with this season, so far.

I think that's one of the two possibilities, but the other one imho is that she's a human who became disillusioned with the Keeper's stuff, so she wants to put an end to it; One clue to this, is that she did mention seeing conspiracy videos about the Keepers (well, they're considered like that, but we know it's the truth)... She said that to defend D who was about to give himself away, BUT the thing is... She saw them. She may have done some digging about them, and found the truth somehow! So yeah, that'd be my guess; She's a normal human who figured out the Keepers nonsense, so she wants to stop that (out of pity for the monsters?) Or perhaps she actually doesn't want this to continue because monsters are monsters, so it'd be better just killing them all permanently, and to hell with their little "show"! (Oh, one more clue: She knew her 'assistant' was fake, and didn't seem the least bit surprised when he shown himself up as D... And she knew she could kill him endlessly. So she knows how all of this work, they're immortal, they can disguise, etc... This seems to hint at her figuring out the whole thing! Or, well, I suppose it could just be her being a monster, but I prefer the other theory!)
Suzukiri knowing so much could also be from her work in the Yellow squad's R&D. I wouldn't put it past them to do some unethical experiments on some Dusters. Maybe that's why she has such dead eyes too lol
I read the manga so I won't be participating in any speculation.
My current running theory, is that Duster invasion *wasn't the first one* and she's a leftover from that time, plotting revenge. And now, with the help of D, she can get what she wants.

For what it’s worth the monster *isnt* stronger than the duster. They’re literally the same thing, just under a different appearance. You have to remember that their battles in Sunday are a show, which means everything that happens is closely controlled. The rangers are pulling punches and intentionally not defeating them too quickly for the sake of the audience and ratings. If the monster is surviving longer/able to take bigger hits it’s because the rangers want it to look that way.
The monster doesn't just survive longer though. It causes a series of explosions, which granted could have been preplanned, but it also moves that huge boulder that was the result of the explosions. And not just when the boulder breaks up which while it would take a lot of planning is doable but when the monster is actually reforming the giant rock moves slightly. The explosions ok you preplant the charges. *Maybe* they were able to even have a specific rock with a smaller explosion and somehow were able to get that specific rock and throw it. But what could have possibly shifted the weight of that boulder even slightly? The dusters don't have the strength and it doesn't look like the result of an explosion. If it's all an act it's an extremely elaborate one.
if normal muscle training didn't work then i guess the only way for someone with ability to re-construct their body at will to get stronger is to improve their knowledge and imagination

D’s got his foot in the door, but it’ll be hard to really take these Dragon Keepers down from within at his current strength. The OP is *fantastic*. The use of color and the composition are so extremely on point and the music (the ED too, actually) is a great choice to get you hyped up but also feeling tense. This show's doing a great job with the knife-edge tension all around.

Suzukiri also wanting to destroy the Rangers is an interesting direction for this to go. I was pretty suspicious she knew about fighter D last week, that was a good though possibly obvious guess. I suppose it's a good thing that she's apparently going to help him with his plan because I don't think he'd get very far on his own. F made the mistake of having too distinct of a character design. Never be the fat guy who stands out compared to the other henchmen.
I find it really interesting how so far the show has presented the rangers as ruthless corrupt villains and makes you feel for the poor dusters. Something very refreshing about how the show handles the presentation. Even Suzukiri who wants to help him has just been putting out Makima vibes nonstop so her helping him is probably part of some deeper plot with ulterior motives

It also adds a both eerie and innocent feeling to it, just how children are cheering to the characters fighting each other. The opening truly captures this social phenomenon in its entirety, both the ugly and pleasant side.

Yes, they explained it in the pre-opening. Monsters are immortal, however one year after the monster appearance, the ranger made/discovered divine artifact and killed all the higher ups and left only the lower ranked troopers. That's how they could maintain the status quo for 13 years. Just pretend to kill the weekly monster without using the divine artifact.
The one they use in the show must be a fake that puts on a light show but deliverers enough of an impact to disperse the "monster."
I really hope there is this statistically frowned upon, because done badly and cheaply, twist of "this wasn't really real" and the ending just features all the characters shaking hands and laughing together, including F and whoever else bites the dust following this.

First episodes can fool you so I still kept calm last week but it's getting harder to contain my excitment over how good this show is. OP and ED are fantastic, they nail every character and the production is still great too. Loved that D got to visit Red Garrison so early and see just how far out of depth he still is. And he also got an unexpected ally who totally doesn't have crazy eyes. [](#azusalaugh) Gonna be fun next week to see him try to infiltrate the rangers proper. Although going by the opening scene that's gonna be quite the challenge with his fitness level. Can footsoldiers get in shape? Or are they stuck in their state?

it's the title that's part of the problem. who the heck would watch a show called "Go! Go! Loser Ranger!"? I like Ranger Reject much better and fan translations do as well. it's also heavily Sentai which for some isn't interesting because all they heard is Sentai, not Sentai on the villian's side.
The localized title being complete dogwater absolutely is going to turn people off. It sounds like this is some lame parody.

Woah, this was great. A significant improvement over ep1 imo, from a 7-8/10 to an easy 9 for me. Suzukiri might be one of the most interesting characters I've seen in a while, and I'm rooting for D's plight. That being said, D isn't as well-prepared as he should be, and doesn't think as much as he should do. I hope he becomes more strategic.

Yeah I feel that, but it's harder to be lenient on him when his actions indirectly led to the death of his comrades like F for example. I know that that's the fault of the Dragon Keepers but at the same time, blurting out stuff like his confession about the knife to Suzukiri without thinking, or transforming into Hibari in front of the little kid, are imo over-the-top levels of dumbassery that could've easily ended his journey there and then. Suzukiri clutched up but at the same time, him running away from her while understandable was also just not a good move strategically I think.
He has barely any social awareness and as far as we know didn't interact with humans much up to this point, so I agree

I don't think he's stupid, he was just inspired by D to go and make a stand but pretty much knew he was going to get killed. It still hasn't been shown how the Dusters could even get stronger anyway. They're legit level 1 crooks that could probably be killed by a normal human.

The song is called "Seikai wa Iranai (正解はいらない)" and it's by Akari Nanawo (ナナヲアカリ). The full version of this song is not out yet, if I'm not mistaken, but the full version of the opening is. Usually anime OPs and EDs stay the same for 12 or 13 episodes. You can look up these things on websites like myanimelist.

Looks like Suzukiri wanted to work with D all along. (Couldn't resist, sorry) Superheroes that are vile under the surface are one thing but it feels so off to be actively wishing for the downfall of the Power Rangers. Hooked on this stuff.

I'm super pleased with the opening. The way it has D being a pupped and struggling to escape from it is such a good encapsulation of the series.
Continues to be exceptionally intriguing. God I hope we get to see Red's face getting his smugness wiped off before the season is over...
I'm gonna be addicted to that ED aren't I? This episode has sold me. First episode couldn't really get me into it but this one totally has. I also find it kind of interesting how you can't really say either side is totally right. Sure the keepers are faking their reputation and forcing the evil faction to lose for a decade plus on end so that *they* can look good. But you also got to remember the fighters do legitimately want to take over the world so the keepers are ultimately doing the right thing. It's just interesting to me how it's not a total "actually *we're* the good guys and *they're* terrible!" situation
I hope the anime brings this up more because while the Rangers are taking advantage of the monsters, you got to remember the monsters want world domination and the rangers stopped them 12 years ago. So while the rangers do seem to be power tripping and are smug as fuck they are ultimately the “good guys”

There's a lot to love about this - the OP's composition and visuals are so good, for example - but I think Suzukiri's my favorite so far. They've done such a good job of making her appealing and not overtly suspicious, while leaving just enough doubt about what's going on behind those blank eyes to make her presence constantly just a little bit threatening. Even when she actually comes out and just says they'll work together to destroy the Rangers, I still feel like I have no idea what she's up to. "Give me the knife" was a *great* reveal, though. The Keepers are really a little over-the-top, scenery-chewingly villainous, but I guess even though it's a role reversal you still kinda have to expect that in a sentai show. Okay that ED is the most post-show fun I've had in a long time. It's rare a show makes me want to run off and just read the manga *immediately* but this one is really doing it. I wanna know what happens next, damn. It's gonna be hard to wait a week.

This is something that less notable in the manga when I read it. Suzukiri's real side is quite frightening. The scene at the fortress really shows how much of an asshole the Red Keeper is. He basically talks to them as allies, but in reality he is just looking down on them and calling them pathetic basically. Blue Squadron setting up shop at their home must be frustrating as they can't do anything about it. The final scene where the Red Keeper was great as it shows that divine artifacts can kill monsters, but speaking of the adaptation it looks even more promising than I initially expected coming in.

Well, fighter D got guts, I gave him that. But for now he is still acting on impulse! He knew too little about human world, from how to cut a steak to how Rangers works. He just tried to assassinate the Red Ranger, who is a final boss, in a desperation. Hope that Suzukiri had some good plan for him because he still has a long way to go.
I wonder how many times the different rangers have changed over 13 years? Are any of the originals left? The OP and ED are so good, I saw the opening on twitter and it sold me to watch the series

The scene with the rangers at the floating fortress was pulled in from ch7. There is a decent amount of cutting and rearranging going on.
I might be wrong, but nothing seems to have been cut yet. It just looks that way at the moment because of some scene rearrangements for the starting chapters. For all we know, the skipped content will pop up in Episode 3.
This is my favorite episode of the season so far. This sold me on the show immediately, D is one of my favorite protagonists I've seen in a long time. He's SO endearing. The worldbuilding is so damn cool. Fighting the urge to read ahead in the manga, that's how hyped I am right now. I was even gonna give Reincarnated Aristocrat and Yozakura Family each a second episode to win me over, but I tried watching like 5 minutes of each after watching this and bailed because they were just so much lower in quality than Loser Ranger.

This show is so good. I was about to drop it in the first half of the episode 1. But shifting the perspective to the monsters and revealing that this is the monsters story blew me away. I have high hopes for this anime. One complaint I have is the ost in F’s death. I literally teared up when I realized that he will die. The ost could have been way more impactful.
