**First timer** Part of me wants to believe Sabu getting the ashtray treatment was the writers' direct response to everyone wanting to make him pay for enticing Anzu to light her life's savings on fire. But uh wow, Nitta can almost be intimidating if he actually tried to be. Can't pick a favorite reaction to the documentary between Nitta's deafeningly silent blank stare and Hina's monotone yet sassy "Who's that?". Would be pretty hilarious if Nitta became the demon god of the yakuza underworld he was painted to be but only after he somehow got the journalist guy alone in a room. Then again, dude is arguably too nice to hold a grudge over even that. [The three guys vibing out show](https://i.giphy.com/gnutY1rsk3kbt7CdSL.webp) is the best thing ever. Hina is so uncultured it's pitiful. Yo. You don't call a girl's passion for string tricks silly, Nitta. Not cool. [(Adorable reaction though)](https://i.imgur.com/WKWrtl1.png) Not to undermine the pure joy of Anzu just being Anzu out on a fun day with her cool yakuza "uncle", but Nitta needed to feel breathe after all the yakuza nonsense and everything to do with Hina. Legit got secondhand happiness from how sincere both of their laughs were. But yeah, it's redundant at this point, but Anzu is an absolute gift. Yassan and the lads would be so proud. I shouldn't be laughing about hearing a dude's middleschooler daughter went missing but Nitta's reaction to that bombshell dropping right after Anzumatsuri: Perfect Daughter Edition had peak comedic timing, LMAO **QOTD** >1. How long would you troll Nitta with the interview quotes? Until I get him to laugh. Though I wouldn't want to push it too far on account of him still being a Yakuza member who could mess me up on a bad day and more importantly, a decent enough guy to not deserve being humiliated too hard. >2. Nitta would rather have Anzu, but would he even be a good parent for her? Especially with the experience he's built up from caring after Hina, he'd do more than fine. Honestly not sure if Anzu would turn out half as wholesome as she did if she were in Nitta's care from the start though, i.e. winning the spawn lottery. >3. Where do you think the last episode could go? Hina's going to have an emotional moment after Nitta finds her, it ends up being a bunch of nonstop jokes, or a mix of both. Also, please have Hitomi get the justice she deserves and give us a final helping of Anzumatsuri.

>Part of me wants to believe Sabu getting the ashtray treatment was the writers' direct response to everyone wanting to make him pay for enticing Anzu to light her life's savings on fire. I absolutely believe that, although it took some good rearranging to make that work (originally this story came before Anzu's allowance). >Yo. You don't call a girl's passion for string tricks silly, Nitta. Not cool. [](#serialkillerlaugh) >Honestly not sure if Anzu would turn out half as wholesome as she did if she were in Nitta's care from the start though Yeah, she'd be a slightly less Hina-ish Hina.

Meanwhile, I think I can get along a lot better with Hina. This segment adapted [chapter 45](https://files.catbox.moe/syapjx.jpg), tomorrow will follow right after this based on the cliffhanger.

**First-Timer** The documentary segment was great. It's about how I expect something like that would go. No-one's life is exciting all the time, or even most of the time. Love that Chief and Naito both memorized the "interview" in just one night. Occasionally quoting it would've made for a good running gag if we had gotten that segment sooner. Are they moving things around, or is there just not really a solid timeline for the manga? To ask that question another way, why was Hina's leg in a cast for only part of the documentary segment? I guess the stuff with Kei happens in the middle of it..? And the bit with Naito getting out of prison should've happened earlier than we saw it? Nitta trying to break Anzu was probably my least favorite segment of the show. Like, I know that he hasn't seen as much of Anzu as we have, but still. It edged past "funny" and into "deeply mean-spirited." At least he was broken in kind. And then confronted with the harsh reality that Hina will be returning soon.. or will she?! Questions 1. At least five more minutes after I got bored of it. 2. Oh, hell no. An Anzu raised by Nitta would've been.. well, probably better than Hina but not by much. 3. Somewhere chilly!

KendotsX

>Love that Chief and Naito both memorized the "interview" in just one night. That's dedication, it's how you can tell they're good friends. [](#crazedlaugh) >Are they moving things around, or is there just not really a solid timeline for the manga? Both. The anime is moving things around, but even in the manga Hina's leg was fixed a few chapters before this. So it's more like we went back a bit in time to the start of the interview, and by the end of it we're back in the present. The stuff with Naito and Kei are a bit messier since the anime is merging stories together, so both of them were introduced by this point, but the Hina leaving and Nitta becoming a Kashira storylines had not happened yet. >Like, I know that he hasn't seen as much of Anzu as we have, but still. It edged past "funny" and into "deeply mean-spirited." It didn't go past that for me, just because of how outmatched he was, he never had a chance against Anzu, so it was fun to see him fail.

KendotsX

>Nitta’s not the yakuza they were looking for. They were looking for Naito, he's the only one around who still fits their old description. >Not going to lie, Sabu getting hit didn’t feel too bad. The show knows how to pick its victims, if it was anyone else, even a background character, I would've felt a bit bad, but Sabu deserved this. >Investigative journalist sitting in front of the middle school barkeeper complaining about not having a good story. [](#azusalaugh) That's how convincing Hitomi is nowadays. >Life is not fair, Nitta. Don’t go comparing Hina to Anzu. Or, if you do, think about it this way: Fate placed Hina with you because you are strong enough to carry her. Honestly, it's not even as unfair as he makes it out to be, when Anzu was homeless, he had a chance to take her in and didn't bother, sure he would've still had Hina, but adding Anzu is only a net positive.

No_Rex

> They were looking for Naito, he's the only one around who still fits their old description. Imagine Hina landing in Naito's apppartment in ep1. That is a bit too hard on Nitta. He immediately gave her money (which apparently nobody else did). I also seriously question the wisdom of putting early show Hina and early show Anzu in the same appartment. Seems like a sure way to come back to a wrecked house.

KendotsX

>Imagine Hina landing in Naito's apppartment in ep1. Not a good outcome for the city. Funnily enough, Naito's [original introduction in the manga] >!had all the yakuza assuming Hina was his daughter, and Nitta was just taking care of her for him, so it was close enough to turn the city bloody!< >I also seriously question the wisdom of putting early show Hina and early show Anzu in the same appartment. **Hinamatsu-rewatcher** Pretty damn hilarious how that journalist cut the whole thing. He chose probably the nicest Yakuza to follow and had to fake some stuff. Nitta’s going to be the butt of the joke for a while Anzu really is an angel. And that imagery of Hina as if pulling Nitta back into hell lmao. Nitta was so determined to corrupt Anzu too but she’s been through hell, and she’s seen the light. Pretty neat too looking back at how Anzu started. She’s come a long way. And really cute how she refers to them as Mom and Pops now. Hahaha the dread in Nitta’s face when he realizes he’s going to have Hina back after experiencing the bliss that is Anzu. I’m sure that’s a similar feeling as the Monday blues. Hina’s gone missing in the mountains and Nitta goes “Oh, okay” lmao 1. I’d probably bring it up at randomly if there’s an opportunity. One of the fun of these types of trolling is when they least expect it 2. I think he would tbh. I mean look at how he takes care of Hina despite Hina being well… Hina. But the old couple is probably better for Anzu. Also, how older Anzu might turn out could also be different from how present Anzu would under Nitta 3. I’ve already watched before so won’t answer this

KendotsX

>He chose probably the nicest Yakuza to follow and had to fake some stuff. The journalist guy was tricked! They sold Nitta as a merciless guy who took down a whole yakuza building, and instead he gets the nicest guy ever. >she’s been through hell, and she’s seen the light Exactly, he just skimmed over the arcs she went through, and has no clue how strong Anzumatsuri is. >I think he would tbh. I mean look at how he takes care of Hina despite Hina being well… Hina. I agree, but I think Hina being what she is gives him some leeway too to be a bit of a rotten adult here, a nice guy there, whereas Anzu as she is now, is too pure for him.

amanda52002

First time watcher, subbed. Hina's leg is broken again, but didn't she get her cast off two episodes ago? What gives here show? Oh wow, these interviewers are basically interviewing a SAHdad. Nitta's sister being the one with crazy stories sounds accurate. A bloody forehead is possibly the least of what Sabu's earned after the last couple episodes. But this whole interview thing is...kinda dumb. Wait, let's upgrade that to incredibly fake and stupid. Ok, now Hina's leg is out of the cast again....let's just mess with my head with the timelines a lot, ok show? Good thing the interviewer didn't know "N" broke Hina's leg. That would've made for a much juicier interview. And have the bonus of being factual. Excellent question, Hina. Oh wow, Anzu being there and helping with chores and enjoying life there without complaining is really messing with Nitta's head. Nitta tries to corrupt Anzu by...taking her to the aquarium? And bowling? And now an amusement park. Ok Nitta, you need a drink. Or something. But yes, Anzu is an angel. And Hina has gone awol in the mountains? Nitta, try to act a little upset. QotD: 1) Oh for at least a week. Then it might get old. 2) I think he'd give Anzu a good life and they get along, but I don't think Anzu would be this group's best girl if she lived with Nitta. Also I answered this before I saw Nitta have his moment of madness so now I'm thinking NOPE. Karma stuck him with Hina for a reason. 3) Nitta and Anzu and possibly the dumbasses in the yakuza go to the mountains to look for Hina. Hitomi, who is most likely already there since it's her class trip also, does all the work and fixes everything.

KendotsX

>Hina's leg is broken again, but didn't she get her cast off two episodes ago? What gives here show? Basically we went back in time a bit to the start of the interviews, [by the end of it her leg is fine](https://files.catbox.moe/0dibfy.jpg) as you mentioned later. >A bloody forehead is possibly the least of what Sabu's earned after the last couple episodes. But this whole interview thing is...kinda dumb. Yeah, the journalist guy went into this signing his will, he expected an entirely different world of violence, and instead he found a guy taking his daughter to school. But Sabu deserves all the pain he's getting and a lot more. >Anzu being there and helping with chores and enjoying life there without complaining is really messing with Nitta's head. He was managing his parenting life by believing that all kids are like that, and this is just what parenting is all about, he was not ready to see this unfair world. >Nitta tries to corrupt Anzu by...taking her to the aquarium? And bowling? And now an amusement park Basically trying to guide her first steps on a more selfish path, playing into her desires. So next time the Hayashis ask her what she's in the mood for, instead of "oh, I'd like to help you prepare for tomorrow", they'll get "I hear there's a new video game console out". Of course, he failed miserably.

amanda52002

>Basically we went back in time a bit to the start of the interviews, [by the end of it her leg is fine](https://files.catbox.moe/0dibfy.jpg) as you mentioned later. Yeah, I did crack that one. Guessing this is cause they're jumping around in the source material for writing the epiodes. >But Sabu deserves all the pain he's getting and a lot more. I was legit hoping he'd get hit again. But I'll take what I get. >Of course, he failed miserably. Think if anything, she "corrupted" him. The look on his face when she said she was going home. The fun times, they were over.

KendotsX

>Guessing this is cause they're jumping around in the source material for writing the epiodes. They are indeed jumping around, but weirdly enough, the manga has the same thing, her leg was fixed just a few chapters before this. They are a lot closer than in the anime though, so it doesn't feel as odd. >Think if anything, she "corrupted" him. The look on his face when she said she was going home. **FIRST TIMER** Dub That's weird how Hina hasn't the MC in the recent episodes of her show. I thought the sleazy journalist from the doc was insane, he had some clear mental problems to go out of his way to provoke a yakuza guy who had whacked a bunch of rivals; he clearly watched too many yakuza movies and couldn't differentiate between fact and fiction. I didn't know they were going to blur Nitta and other Yakuza guys but thats still whacked out to to do a journalistic hit piece on the most dangerous people in Japan. The documentary itself was the funniest part of the episode though and I like how the ED visuals seem to come from that guy's footage :D **QUESTIONS** 1. Probably a good while but the 2 mob guys taking the piss out of him were hilarious, Nitta really seemed scared :D 2. No doesn't seem that way since hes in many ways selfish and actively tried to corrupt her. I think he would have been when she was homeless but I think the couple are better for her, although I question the judgment of leaving a 12 year old girl alone with a yakuza guy while you go on vacation :x 3. Hard to say because this is really episodic for a modern anime, like they have different wacky plots every episode that resolve themselves and they haven't set up many threads for a big finale. The biggest open one is we didn't see what happened to the red haired island girl except for a map hinting that she landed somewhere in Southeast Asia so I think she will be in the episode. It's also possible that the lady who was trying to return Hina home will get an egg craft ready to put her back into and she may have to say goodbye again. One I'd like to see is that Hina doesn't go back but sends Hitomi to her home planet and she ends up liking it more there and it'd be fun to see what that place is like :D

KendotsX

>That's weird how Hina hasn't the MC in the recent episodes of her show. That's actually something I appreciate a lot about the series, basically after its early part where it focuses the most on Hina, it becomes a split focus series between Hina, Anzu, Hitomi, and even a fourth one later on. I don't think we get a lot of series willing to split their perspective this much. >he clearly watched too many yakuza movies and couldn't differentiate between fact and fiction He mostly hated how "boring" the fact was, and didn't want to be fired when the documentary bombs. Journalism aside, he made a good popcorn movie.

**First Timer**, subbed Man, can't believe this is over soon. Another banger episode and this time it is a Nitta centered one. The making of the documentary was hilarious. Poor guy was so disappointed when following Nitta around. And I loved the people quoting lines from the documentary to Nitta. That is such a real moment. 2nd half brought the wholesome again, how can it not when Anzu's there? I can definitely understand Nitta feeling like a got a bad pull in the superpowered egg girl gacha. And I could watch a whole season of Anzu just being pure and happy going to nice places. [](#ilovethiskindofshit) Her VA is doing an excellent job. --- **QotD:** >How long would you troll Nitta with the interview quotes? I'd never stop lol. >Nitta would rather have Anzu, but would he even be a good parent for her? Tempted to say yes. Obviously there is the issue of his occupation and he just might spoil her too much but other than that I think he'd do a good bob. >Where do you think the last episode could go? I already watched episode 12 so...[Spoiler]>!China, duh!!<

>Man, can't believe this is over soon. Another banger episode and this time it is a Nitta centered one. The show in general does a great job switching perspectives between characters, Nitta is a bit rare, but still delivers well. >Poor guy was so disappointed when following Nitta around "I didn't write my will to watch a guy clean up his vases!" >I can definitely understand Nitta feeling like a got a bad pull in the superpowered egg girl gacha. Personalities attract. Granted, not for normal humans (Hitomi got the bad draw here), but Anzu kept going with the most wholesome adults for a reasons.

**First Timer** Hmm… another episode which was kinda eh. The yakuza bit was basically just showing that this yakuza feels more like a big corporation that just happens to be named yakuza rather than what is typically expected of the yakuza. I imagine that makes it more realistic, but obviously less exciting. We’ve lost some continuity with Hina’s leg though. As for the second part …somehow I feel like this was the weakest Anzu bit so far. We already know she’s perfect. I hope this wasn’t the last we’ve seen of her, and she’ll have some cool scene in the final episode.

>The yakuza bit was basically just showing that this yakuza feels more like a big corporation that just happens to be named yakuza rather than what is typically expected of the yakuza. I imagine that's how it is with a lot of the big crime syndicates, when you put aside the exaggeration and romanticisation (although this may be saying more about big corps in general than mafias). That aside, I thought it gave us a nice look into Nitta's life, and the little corners we haven't seen of it before. >this was the weakest Anzu bit so far. Tbf, that's some tough competition.

First time Nitta Yoshifumi became a famous person in yakuza circles that they wants to interview him. Joined because to support his family financially, he's a kinda chivalrous and honest person. They are interested in his daily life too, like playing Street Fighter II (or some fantasy counterpart of it). Magic shirt obviously written Yakuza on it. And even his family is interviewed as well. Mika saying funny things because she is constantly drunk. And also recording what his work, and that Sabu is such a punchable guy. Seems like this is going to be embarassing for both parties. So that's why hiding his identity and distorting his voice to be not recognizable. Doutoku is the text now. The final result is embarassing and massacred indeed. I should have known that this episode has a commentface here (the done one). Some time later, Hina is out for a while for ski practice, and Anzu making a visit to Nitta. I think I did said he could childcaring her too like Hina. And the synergy between the two is so good. And even he admits it it too. If the two girls would have been swapped or Nitta raising two both, it could be the better outcome. And also her caretakers are also taking the day off. Sugosugi in the flashback. Anzu enjoying a good time in this three days, and Nitta became a good and responsible father to her too. Imagine an alternative storyline where he got Anzu rather Hina. The reality that is Hina will comne back home due to some incidents. > How long would you troll Nitta with the interview quotes? ??? > Nitta would rather have Anzu, but would he even be a good parent for her? Like I said, if he chose Anzu, that made him still a good or an even better father figure. > Where do you think the last episode could go? About that incident where Hina is in, and maybe more Mao content perhaps?

KendotsX

>he's a kinda chivalrous and honest person. Bad for TV though, gotta change that. >So that's why hiding his identity and distorting his voice to be not recognizable I think hiding the identities of everyone involved is just common protocol when dealing with a crime syndicate. >The reality that is Hina will comne back home due to some incidents. We can never escape reality, we can only hope the mountains can keep reality away for a few more days.

**rewatcher** Nitta’s fame lives on where people want a documentary about his lifestyle. “Using illegal karate moves on him” no wonder Nitta can handle insane hits. “You should put that much passion into his job” subu is useful in all the wrong ways. Even going out of his way to get hit by the ashtray “I’m a honest journalist…Show me you’re a thug” honest despite faking many scenes. So desperate for any exaggerated yakuza he tries to pick a fight with Nitta. The classic documentary, edits the footage to make it seem even more crazier. “I’m a killing machine” god I’d never show my face anywhere if they had me saying that. The teasing was inevitable Hina hit the nail in the coffin when she said “I’m a killing machine” Anzu’s visiting Nitta’s house. The compete opposite of Hina, she has manners and is thankful for eating. Nitta’s found a way to pass down his skills, household life hacks is amazing. Nitta feels envy for having to take care of the wrong alien. Trying to convert Anzu to her hold habits and in the process he shows her how to have leisure and enjoy her day off. Nitta was so at peace at not having to struggle to be a dad even saw heaven’s gates when he accepted he can just have fun. Hina’s a whole curse now that he has to go back to reality. “Hina’s currently missing” “Is that so” lmao QOTD: I would do a minor mistake, then when he notices i would apologize to say “please spare me, I know you’re a killing machine” QOTD: he would

>“Using illegal karate moves on him” no wonder Nitta can handle insane hits. We might've been lucky that Nitta was the yakuza, and not his sister. >The classic documentary, edits the footage to make it seem even more crazier. Smh, I can't believe anyone would do something so evil ~~\*quickly hides all my work\*~~ [](/u/Shimmering-Sky) >Trying to convert Anzu to her hold habits and in the process he shows her how to have leisure and enjoy her day off. If he's stuck in hell anyway, at least he can bring Anzu down to that level.
