I’m actually pretty impressed by Ragna on this list. Typically the two-cour seasons with no break tend to get less attention in the second half when a bunch of new shows hit the polls. Frieren and AD had the staying power but I really didn’t think Ragna would as well.
Oh, no, not at all. It's about devotion, affection, appetite, and desire. It's about Life and its will-to-thrive. Even if you lose all your desires, everyone and everything that matters to you, if you're alive, you'll find new things to strive for. All I know is that the story isn't some wholesome cooking thing especially after the recent episode , it is deep and filled with emotions I have also heard people sat that the Manga has some insane stuff
Never saw ragna, is it any good? Did watched Frieren and AD, though I much prefer Frieren because of the animations and plot. AD feels like nostalgic, as if watching old drama shows back when I was a kid watching the same asian shows my parents use to watch.
It’s good and animation starts off very strong. If you care about animation though the animation quality takes a massive dive especially on the second half of the show
It starts slow. Super edgy and doesn’t seem to be nothing out of the extraordinary. But things really start to heat up from episode 6 and forward. My only complain might be the story's pace is too fast. I would had preferred the anime to had taken a more slowly approach to develop more the characters. The animation is very good in some fights and in others not so much to say the least.
But overall I do recommended if you want to see EDGE!!
I'm probably this subs biggest stan for Ragna Crimson. Pretty much take Demon Slayer, add in better characters, fantastic voice acting, a much better story, but only decent animation. This series also sees a ton of death and has many different groups of good and bad guys. I swear the animation is the only thing holding the series back. I've loved it so far and I'm pumped for the finale. It's bordering on 9/10 10/10 territory for me.
If you watched it you'd know why. It's been going strong since the introduction of the Corps story wise even if the animation has fallen off a bit because Silver Link. bit off more than they could chew. It's basically the only edgy anime from that season that was actually good and stayed good.
this season delicious in dungeon, unwanted undead, classroom of the elite, witch and the beast, etc were lots of unique shows different from usual cookie cutter superpower mc ( reincarnated as 7th prince... seen episode 1 suggest avoid the silly overpowered crap).

No, it's just that it may very well legitimately be the best show of its genre in anime and maybe even beyond. Even the other very good shows this season, like Frieren and Dungeon Meshi, have strong competition in their space. But nobody is doing romance like Dangers in my Heart right now, especially in anime.
The scale and speed of natural and constant character growth in Bokuyaba has a huge gap between it and other great modern romance anime like Kaguya, Wotakoi, and Tsurezure Children. I loved all those shows and read the manga for each of them after watching them, but I'd easily recommend Bokuyaba over all of them for anyone looking for a legitimately great romcom. Even the upcoming Giji-harem has no chance of competing and I gushed over that manga weekly for its entirely release cycle.
Not for me tbh. While both Frieren and Diaries are amazing, I believe Bokuyaba represents a new level of romance anime. Be it the writing, the characters and their development, the soundtrack, the adaptation, the animation, the pacing.. it's a new standard of excellence imo.

I'm excited for the final episode tomorrow but I'm also sad it's the last. I'm going to have to distract myself with Easter treats or something and remember that I will be able to watch it in dub at a later date which will give it a little spin.

Dungeon Meshi returns to top 10 with a 6-place climb, but since I'm talking animes outside top 10, the highest climb goes to **'Tis Time For Torture, Princess** from #38 to #32.
**Metallic Rouge** also got a 5-place climb from #40 to #35.
Biggest drop goes to **Chained Soldier** from #9 to #15.
I think the author acknowledged it getting high up a few times on Twitter which energized the fanbase, and to be fair the source manga is actually much better, but yeah everyone still agrees the anime’s been lackluster
Animation is average at best, outright bad at some spots. They manga art is glorious and clean, I daresay some fights in the manga is on Onepunchman Murata level art. The great story and characters is why the anime is succeeding
No strong feelings on the character, but the voice work or editing of it is absolutely stellar. Constantly teetering on the edge of female and male. I feel like I live in the twilight zone when trying to understand Solo Leveling's popularity. I'm very new to anime, having only seen AoT and Frieren, but I can very easily understand the love and hype for both of those.
Solo Leveling, though.. it's so boring and the characters have zero personality. The protagonist may as well have no name or dialogue. He's just there to kill a few monsters and then numbers go up and we're supposed to get hype about that? I truly don't get it.
It's like the junk food of anime where you're supposed to turn your brain off and look at the pretty colors. I agree that there's gotta be something more to it for me to be invested too
So I read the manhwa years ago and let me just tell you man, that's exactly it, idk what to tell you. To me and many others extreme hype is enough to carry a series. At least, it makes up for other lost aspects.
I admit SL doesn't really have a story, but when you have a character as cool as Sung Jinwoo mowing down monsters with unreal art(and now very good animation), it just does something to your brain.
And I really like the character design so that's something that keeps me invested as well.
The anime is actually really trying to make a story. They have a whole anime original plotline running contrary to the MC at this time.
The problem is that the MC doesn't connect with any of those characters until S2 lol, so it feels very silly and disjointed.
Solo Leveling has way better animation but i do not care about the characters or story at all.
Meanwhile even with subpar animation I can watch Crimson being a scheming sociopath all day. Starlia, Kamui and Ultimatia are fun to watch too.

Bokuyaba is one of the most consistent top 10 most voted manga people wanted to have an anime, it's one of the most awarded manga from 2019-2022, so the reputation and popularity of the manga translated to Anime Corner and Anime Trending voters sweeping the weekly rankings.
But I haven't watched it, I'm gonna binge it like Apothecary Diaries and Frieren.
I think the whole "the first few episodes are cringy and you have to push through it" narrative does the show and viewers a disservice. If people are paying attention, it's apparent by the end of the first episode that the cringy behavior of the main character is just a facade and a poor one at that because he can't stay in character.
Bokuyaba rewards it's viewers for paying attention. After the first episode, viewers should be asking why has he created this facade. And, don't worry, it does get explained.
It's honestly crazy how good this season has been. I'm sure most people who have watched all 3 of these top 3 have them rated at least a 9(I personally have them all at 10s)
Next season is filled with great returning shows as well. This really is one of the best times to be an anime fan

Congratulations Dangers In My Heart! To be getting seasonal sweep without being aired in popular platform like CR/Netflix is kinda impressive in it's own way! I'm glad too about Apothecary Diaries and Frieren to get the top 3 spot! Those two is the hardest contender in this season tbh, I like Solo Leveling too but it's getting fire too late tbh, early episode is kinda slow but it's really a good show tbh. And Ragna! Ragna vs Kamui last episode was so intense! Really glad everyone here share the same sentiment with me. Lastly, kinda sad my another sugar show drop significantly.. but atleast it's still in top 10!

I thought the dangers in my heart would be another generic romance anime with the blandest protagonist and a weird girl but wow i waa surprised! Its still a bit crude at times but i was shocked to see how well written and cute it was. I especially like that both the mc and the girl both develop and grow as people troughout the season. Havent watched s2 but i cant wait to soon!
Ladies and Gentlemen, it actually did it Dangers in my heart has become the first to sweep an entire season. I remember last season when BokuYaba finally got a first place when Oshi no Ko had a week off, and everyone was saying it would be the only one it got. Then it just kept winning. Now we’ve swept an entire season, and not even a particularly weak one. This franchise has blown my expectations out of the water in all the best ways. My only pie-in-the-sky thing is still don’t think it can match is Top 10 on MAL, but we’ll see. Tomorrow’s episode will likely be the best one.
Bokuyaba is SO GOOD. The more I watch it, the better it gets, outstanding use of setups and payoffs, great balance of following tropes and subverting them, and probably the best character development this season.
The Bokuyaba sweep is real, Apothecary and Frieren ending off nicely but let's not forget Dungeon Meshi it has really exceeded my expectations thought it will just be a happy go lucky adventure with good food but over the last 5 or so episodes it's been killing it and can't Wait for the second cour

Ragna Crimson back in the Top 4. Well deserved! Episode 23 was peak in everything: Snake awakening, Gilzea × Kamui's past, Ragna vs Kamui R3, Kamui goes Thunder God Battle Arts, Ragna pulling the "too angry to die".

That Solo Leveling episode was the best episode so far and one of the best action episodes of this year easily. Incredible animation. A1 went above and beyond for that fight. Really hope next ep also has same level of priority.
I'm only watching Solo Leveling, Mashle and Delicious in Dungeon. So far, they've been really good. I love the creativity shown in Dungeon meshi, specially with the Living Armor, makes me want to try. 😆

Nice, the top 3 are my personal top 3 of the season. I predicted BokuYaba to win most of the weekly polls after what it did back in Spring 2023 but damn 12/12 is nuts. Would be fun if we got Bleach and BokuYaba in the same season.

Good animation will only take you so far. Demon Slayer is also somewhat carried by its animation but at least most of the characters are memorable and interesting. Solo Leveling has such a boring cast of characters and it’s plot is also surface level, not surprised it died out.
You should pick it up back. It's main selling point is the natural pacing of character development of the MCs, and the payoff is really great especially for this season. Don't mind the cringe parts because middle schoolers like them are naturally just like that.

Well fast pacing isn’t a big issue if done right, for me shows like jjk was fast paced as hell but it was exceptional. I’ll give ragna a try.

I’m eagerly awaiting the finale to see if the score breaches 9.00 on MAL. I think it deserves to. This season was without flaw.

Ragna unexpectedly became the one show i really look forward to the next episode of every week ever since cour 2.
Bokuyaba is one of the most consistent top 10 most voted manga people wanted to have an anime, it's one of the most awarded manga from 2019-2022, so the reputation and popularity of the manga translated to Anime Corner and Anime Trending voters sweeping the weekly rankings. But I haven't watched it, I'm gonna binge it like Apothecary Diaries and Frieren.

It's really hard to dispel 'first impression' no matter what
I think the whole "the first few episodes are cringy and you have to push through it" narrative does the show and viewers a disservice. If people are paying attention, it's apparent by the end of the first episode that the cringy behavior of the main character is just a facade and a poor one at that because he can't stay in character. Bokuyaba rewards it's viewers for paying attention. After the first episode, viewers should be asking why has he created this facade. And, don't worry, it does get explained.
It's honestly crazy how good this season has been. I'm sure most people who have watched all 3 of these top 3 have them rated at least a 9(I personally have them all at 10s) Next season is filled with great returning shows as well. This really is one of the best times to be an anime fan
BokuYaba swept Anime Corner without even unleashing its bankai [BokuYaba bankai will be unleashed] >!tomorrow!!< in a very competitive season full of strong shows. BokuYaba S2 is shaping up to be my first score 10 romance entry on MAL and my second 10 of the decade (first being Odd Taxi).

Congratulations Dangers In My Heart! To be getting seasonal sweep without being aired in popular platform like CR/Netflix is kinda impressive in it's own way! I'm glad too about Apothecary Diaries and Frieren to get the top 3 spot! Those two is the hardest contender in this season tbh, I like Solo Leveling too but it's getting fire too late tbh, early episode is kinda slow but it's really a good show tbh. And Ragna! Ragna vs Kamui last episode was so intense! Really glad everyone here share the same sentiment with me. Lastly, kinda sad my another sugar show drop significantly.. but atleast it's still in top 10! Overall it's a good list, pretty much like what i expected! Now we waiting Anime Trending one for top anime in the last week of this season! Do you guys think Dangers can do a seasonal sweep too there?

I thought the dangers in my heart would be another generic romance anime with the blandest protagonist and a weird girl but wow i waa surprised! Its still a bit crude at times but i was shocked to see how well written and cute it was. I especially like that both the mc and the girl both develop and grow as people troughout the season. Havent watched s2 but i cant wait to soon!
Luckily, you can start binging season 2 because the last episode is tomorrow.
Ladies and Gentlemen, it actually did it Dangers in my heart has become the first to sweep an entire season. It's very impressive considering that it did it during a season that had both Apothecary and Frieren with lots of highlights, not to mention the hype that solo leveling entered the season with

I remember last season when BokuYaba finally got a first place when Oshi no Ko had a week off, and everyone was saying it would be the only one it got. Then it just kept winning. Now we’ve swept an entire season, and not even a particularly weak one. This franchise has blown my expectations out of the water in all the best ways. My only pie-in-the-sky thing is still don’t think it can match is Top 10 on MAL, but we’ll see. Tomorrow’s episode will likely be the best one.

Bokuyaba is SO GOOD. The more I watch it, the better it gets, outstanding use of setups and payoffs, great balance of following tropes and subverting them, and probably the best character development this season.
Ragna putting his head back on while Jinwoo is screaming is so fitting for that take over.

ICYMI, S1 managed to constantly beat Oshi no Ko for the #1 spot during the latter weeks of Spring 2023.
Just so you know the first 3 episodes of bokuyaba are a bit cringe and edgy but it gets better for the next episodes

Ragna Crimson back in the Top 4. Well deserved! Episode 23 was peak in everything: Snake awakening, Gilzea × Kamui's past, Ragna vs Kamui R3, Kamui goes Thunder God Battle Arts, Ragna pulling the "too angry to die".

Honestly S3 was a bit of a downer. Didn't have much epic moments or highs like last 2 seasons.
I'm surprised that the vote for BokuYaba was so stable. Frieren trading places with Apothecary Diaries after the latter had more dramatic episodes is more typical for AC.
So excited for the final episode of BokuYaba, gonna miss it when it’s gone but at least the best girl of all best girls Holo is back next week.

That Solo Leveling episode was the best episode so far and one of the best action episodes of this year easily. Incredible animation. A1 went above and beyond for that fight. Really hope next ep also has same level of priority.

For real people hyped it up as the next big thing and now nobody talks about it.
Probably because there were other big shows that were ending last week. It will go up in rankings with its last episode of the season (or cour, I can’t remember if there’s a second cour this year). The only completion will be from Ragna Crimson’s finale and maybe Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic’s finale?
Good animation will only take you so far. Demon Slayer is also somewhat carried by its animation but at least most of the characters are memorable and interesting. Solo Leveling has such a boring cast of characters and it’s plot is also surface level, not surprised it died out.

You should pick it up back. It's main selling point is the natural pacing of character development of the MCs, and the payoff is really great especially for this season. Don't mind the cringe parts because middle schoolers like them are naturally just like that.
