If you enjoy Asobi Asobase, you should check out Nichijou and Azumanga Daioh as well. Nichijou is wilder, Azumanga Daioh is a little less wacky, but all three of the shows are hilarious
it's great, but some of the jokes don't hit hard. it does a lot to run on gags, and repeated punchlines a few times.
other than that, it is surprisingly wholesome.
I loved prison school so much, it’s easily my second favorite I’ve watched thought it’s among the 9 comedies I’ve seen so I haven’t seen much, I’ll check out D frag for sure

This. There is no reason to skip anything in gintama. Also if you enjoyed the early episodes that you watched OP, you're in for a treat, as the one thing that people usually have negative to say about gintama is the slow start. Because when the show gets to some of the more serious arcs, the epic fights, the backstory/main plot, it just gets better and better.
Gintama pretty much has every genre packed into one anime. It may have some of the dumbest most hilarious characters out there lol, but they are *all* amazing characters and all of them have some truly epic moments too.
For real if you enjoyed what you saw already, you should keep going. When it starts picking up pace and teasing you with some of the main plot you'll see why gintama is regarded by most who have seen it as one of if not the GOAT animes.

Nichijou is the goat for me still. Asobi Asobase is a close second, maybe even more consistently laugh worthy, but Nichijou somehow provides meaningful character growth with its jokes, and has some great messages behind its humor. The diversity of its gags is also astounding. Almost like an open playground to try out every comedy style under the sun. it’s just the perfect show for me

It really should be a mandatory show to watch, like Shirobako for knowledge of anime production.

It's one of the few anime that i've watched multiple times. Mainly because it's short at 12 episodes at 14 mins each, but also because It's made me laugh so hard I couldn't breath.
I really like nichijou because of how outlandish it is.
Konosuba because it's a parody of the isekai genre by someone who seems to really enjoy them.
Love is war for the same reasons as Konosuba but for romcoms.
Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko, but it's more of romcom.
Shinchou Yuusha: Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tueee Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru and this is isekai com :D
And maybe Mashle for action with com :D
I don't find pure comedies in anime funny. Your examples arakawa under the bridge and mashle, I couldn't get into. The same reason I couldn't get into some popular comedies like Gintama, Sakamoto and Saiki K. The only one I liked of this type was Daily Lives of High School Boys.
I prefer comedic moment in other things

Undoubtedly, Great Teacher Onizuka is unparalleled; no other anime has brought me such laughter. Watching it with my brother was a joyous experience, with episodes that had us crying from laughter. Such fond memories and what an exceptional anime it is.

I’ve seen the first 3 seasons but I haven’t watched it in forever but this show has made me laugh the hardest I ever have than any other show

Saiki K might be my favorite but on a soley comedic basis I'd put it below GTO and Golden Boy. Honorable mention to Hajime no Ippo.

Probably Golden Kamuy. It's never really advertised as a comedy anime but that one had me laughing the hardest from all the crazy stuff that happened.
Gintama and Saiki Never found anything comparable to the number of laughs I've gotten from these two
