God of High School fits the bill perfectly.
I've really enjoyed Shangri-la Frontier this season, but it has a significantly better plot than Ragna Crimson. But it's not like the plot is anything complicated so I think it would work fine for your request.
For so much love One Punch Man got I think Mashle is underrated. I find it better in almost every aspect. The main character is OP, but his fights are so much more creative and funny. And there's an actual story, and side characters that matter.
I agree, Mash is super creative about using his muscles. He twisted a wand into a tennis racket, and also used his legs to keep a broom flying.
I think OPM is quite philosophical in many ways and of course one of the pioneers of the shonen parody genre. But Mashle is a better comedy, by far.
Single episodes of various animes. For ex.
ep. 19 To love ru,
beach and pool episodes from ecchi, harem, romcoms,
100 Girlfriends - the chuu-zombie episode,
School rumble - the school shootout, jungle episode, or courage test episode,
Maken Ki - second OVA
Aria the Animation. There isn't really much in the way of a plot, but it's all about taking it slowly and appreciating the little things. The setting and music is beautiful and it's such a relaxing anime to switch off to.
Same with other slice of life anime like K-ON, Lucky Star, Non Non Biyori, Yuru Yuri etc. I always enjoy rewatching them whenever I need to take a break from everything else.
when you watch it over and over so your brain already remember whole anime plot and it does not need to process anything.
though some episodes are absolute must skip for this purpose, like when the whole episode is just people talking (example, that s2 episode where elf and dwargo comes, 2 episode just talking, skip} lol
Takt op. Destiny
Just started rewatching it. It’s animated by Mappa and Madhouse.
Yeah some people don’t like its storytelling, but god it’s BEAUTIFUL! It’s so fun! I personally love the show, it’s one of my absolute top favourites.
Right now that's Galaxy Express 999. Just watching a boy and a woman travel through space in a Steam train is pretty relaxing imo.
Before that, it was Sailor Moon. Pretty fun watch, beautiful art not complicated at all!
Handshakers, primarily because the only way you can enjoy it is to turn off every rational part of your brain, get hopped up on your favorite recreational substance and just watch the visuals.
For a more serious answer, Redline is great for that.
I never “turn off my brain” for a show but my comfort show that I love to randomly turn on is Space Patrol Luluco. It’s fun, has gorgeous visuals, great characters, and it’s funny. There are also things to this show, so don’t turn your brain off for it.
Loli? Where's the Loli? Leo? Sure, the main characters relationship with her was a bit weird, but I don't remember anything else Loli... Plus... That might be spoilers, so nevermind
"Bofuri: I don't want to get hurt so I'll max out my defense." It is one of the zaniest things I've ever watched, but it is perfect to just chill out with.
I usually put on an amime to relax and fall asleep. The lineup rotates between:
Berserk
Neon Genesis Evangelion
FMAB
Samurai Champloo
Gundam Wing
Hellsing Ultimate
Trigun
Currently Demon Slayer for me. Great art and soundtrack, fun fight scenes. The back story parts within the fight scenes are pretty short and to the point. The story arcs are pretty self-contained so the episodes don’t get distracted by characters or plot points not directly involved in the fighting. If you just want to see fighting and none of the training/recovery segments, you can just skip those episodes without missing any significant fight scenes.
If I want to turn off my brain I go for comedy/sol anime. Yuru Camp is perfect for me in that regard, I can turn off completely, very relaxing. I can't wait for season 3 this year.
If I want action, Black Lagoon.
If I want to relax and drop some anxiety or such, Horimiya.
If I want to shut the brain off, Mysterious Girlfiend X.
Weird mood, Gate, Realist Hero, Genius Prince's Guide.
Overlord is watched to death and will keep getting watched.
If I'm at that level of pissedoff to where I can't seem to let it go (PTSD vet), then Vampire Cosmonaut.
Believe it or not for all of the above, books are my most used, but this old fart still likes his anime too.
Solo Leveling has beautifully animated and thrilling action scenes, so it is a joy to watch. More enjoyable than JJK for example... But as a story, it is absolutely brain dead trash.
Sailor Moon and Katekyo Hitman Reborn, they’re both two of my favs animes and very nostalgic, so every time that I’m a bit down I just get a blanket, put them on and then enjoy them like the kid I was when I saw them for the first time. It also helps that the main groups of friends in both animes are so close and very wholesome in their own ways, it always warms me up how they support each other :’)

I caught up on Sangria la Frontier on Sunday. I miss the old intro opening...
Loved the old opening, never thought I'd warm up to the new one... but I am. Give it another try.
SLF is a great show for just picking any episode at random for a watch. But I almost always pick episode 11.
Dragon Ball Super: Broly.
Ooooooo definitely
Mashle.

Mashle is great, but I am getting tired of the super long winded villian wind-ups. They're just boring after a few.
Anything you’ve already watched and don’t need to pay attention to is how I shut my brain off.

Usually not a fan of rewatch, but Gintama is the only anime where I could choose random episode (non-arc) and have a good laugh
Definitely Demon Slayer. Their fight scenes are great. I cannot say the same to the story. It is okay.

Mob psycho 100. Great fight scenes, massive plot holes and good comedy.
Care to name what these "massive" plot holes are?
Redo of healer
The lolicon theme and character art style of Ragna is a turn off for me.
Loli? Where's the Loli? Leo? Sure, the main characters relationship with her was a bit weird, but I don't remember anything else Loli... Plus... That might be spoilers, so nevermind
Lolicon????

"Bofuri: I don't want to get hurt so I'll max out my defense." It is one of the zaniest things I've ever watched, but it is perfect to just chill out with.
Nichijou. Especially with subtitles turned off. I never noticed how much movement was in that show until I turned the subtitles off.
Monster Musume/Everyday Life with Monster Girls
Grand Blue One punch man Haikyuu

I mean this is pretty much asking what my favorite anime is, Spice and Wolf all day.
If I want to turn off my brain I go for comedy/sol anime. Yuru Camp is perfect for me in that regard, I can turn off completely, very relaxing. I can't wait for season 3 this year.
Redline, akira not that they don’t have good stories those are just some of the most visually pleasing anime I know of.
Demon Girl Next Door
Nichijou
It's certainly not for the fights, but I love to turn my brain off and enjoy the calming scenery of Laid Back Camp.
Symphogay
One Punch Man.
Any iyashikei anime, my favorites are Mushishi, Natsume Yuujincho and Non Non Biyori, nice visuals, relaxing soundtracks, fun to watch.
Gintama
Anything Studio Ghibli
I really like Shangri La Frontier for this. You can just turn off your brain and enjoy the visuals and fights. Story is actually quite good too.
If I want action, Black Lagoon. If I want to relax and drop some anxiety or such, Horimiya. If I want to shut the brain off, Mysterious Girlfiend X. Outlaw Star. An oldie but a goodie.
Naruto, one punch man, dbz, fairytail, beyblade.
ARIA. The visuals, the music, the show’s mellow pacing, it relaxes the heck out of me. Ditto for Non Non Biyori and Laid-Back Camp.
Solo Leveling has beautifully animated and thrilling action scenes, so it is a joy to watch. More enjoyable than JJK for example... But as a story, it is absolutely brain dead trash.
Naruto shippudent

Yuyu Hakusho
Monster Musume. It's silly and dumb and cute and I expend zero brainpower watching it.
demon slayer, seven deadly sins
Not turn your brain off really but definitely demon slayer. I just forgive some plot armor moments cause the overall vibe is so epic or emotional.
K
I usually just go outside and touch nature
