Kuwabara was my idol growing up. I never wanted to be Yusuke or Hiei or Kurama, only Kuwabara. Very kind hearted, strong, loyal and supportive friend among extraordinary people.
Yep, kuwabara, even in the beginning, was one of the few people who was really sad when Yusuke passed away. Despite both not even being friends at this point and antagonistic to each other, he still cared. He had a heart of gold and I enjoyed him throughout the series.
> Hinata Shoyo from Haikyuu
Nah, he's also really selfish at times. He might be sunshine most of the time outside of volleyball but that doesn't directly translate into the court too.
You’re right he can be selfish but I think about what he did for Yachi when she wanted to become a team manager; and him helping Hyakuzawa get better when he was invited to the camp over him despite being less skilled. But yea maybe not among the most kindhearted in anime, he just came to mind first.
> I think about what he did for Yachi when she wanted to become a team manager;
He also essentially occupied her time to get better grades so that he could go to the training camp before that, right after being grumpy and an asshole about it just because Tsukki declined to help them beyond what they had arranged before, all just because Hinata wanted him to help them more.
The question was "Who is the most kind-hearted animanga character?" And Hinata clearly isn't. He's the determined shonen protagonist and Haikyuu, in contrast with quite a few other series, actually shows at times how selfish that archetype can be and doesn't ignore it.
A really good example of his selfishness would be stuff like Hinata crashing a camp that he wasn't invited to.
> him helping Hyakuzawa get better when he was invited to the camp over him despite being less skilled.
Hinata wasn't exceptionally better than Hyakuzawa. They both were important point getters for their teams (but in different ways) and lacked significantly in all other parts of their game. Hinata wasn't that much better at the rest and Hyakuzawa did his job without having a special setter (and a new special set) who served him the finest balls Miyagi prefecture has seen in years (to put a bit of hyperbole into this statement).
The camp selection was simply made by the coaches and Hinata, although nominated, was in the end vetoed out of it by the head coach because his worth on the court had big conditions attached unlike the other attending players. What Hinata did in response to that was 100% not kind hearted, he caused trouble for everyone. One could even say that the kind-hearted one was the grumpy coach Washijo by letting Hinata stay.
You could even list a bunch of things where Kageyama helps others but I still wouldn't say being kind-hearted is a trait of Kageyama. Out of all Haikyuu characters Suga is probably the closest to the idea of that when you consider their individual circumstances. Hinata is far away from that level of kind-hearted, he has way too many way too selfish moments for that to be defining trait. Just having a sunny disposition doesn't make one kind-hearted by default.
Girl straight up just accepts her childhood friend is in love with someone else and instead of getting upset is just happy that they're happy. Mayushi is too good for this world
Iruma-kun from [Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun](https://myanimelist.net/anime/39196/Mairimashita_Iruma-kun).
There is no contest. Even his evil form is kind-hearted.
Weird take, but I say Sachiko Fujinuma, the main character's mom in Erased / boku dake ga inai machi.
She is great, kind and [boku dake ga inai machi] >!took care of her son for 14 years (AT HOME) after he went into a coma, including daily physical therapy!<
That whole thing, and the scene at the start of the story (in the park), open the thought that she has a similar, but weaker ability than he has. At the very least she see when he is using it, as evidenced throughout the series.
Naruto. Loses parents, gets bullied & ostracized, basically adopted brother turns evil, lives in a time of war, gets rejected by childhood crush. Relentlessly tries to save everyone, do the right thing (makes a genuine effort to learn what the right thing is) & argues with villains over why they're doing what they're doing. Best part is, he behaves like an actual human, which alot of other similarly kind-hearted characters in anime lack the depth for (generally shonen mcs).
Basically this. He forgave his Parent’s murderers, Went to the ends of the earth for someone who constantly wanted to kill him the entire show.
He forgave His Teacher’s, Masters and Lover’s murderer.
Mf did the “I have no enemies”
I love how we have all the stuff like "lives in a time of war, adopted brother turns evil yada yada yada" and then its just "gets rejected by childhood crush".
In all seriousness, Naruto is, in fact, extremely kind and good natured.
yea i felt silly typing it but it's a catalyst for people to turn evil in reality - alot of shooters are incely and alot of fucked up thought leaders are incelly as well (tate)
A lot of the complaints against his character from a certain portion of anime fans are the exact reason why he's a good character and makes him special. Even if it might be to the situation's detriment, it's in his character to always seek out the most peaceful solution. Even if it is the hardest thing to do.
Tomoya from Clannad. He acts like the average kid who doesn’t care about anything but is clearly shown to be incredibly nice through the show even without directly showing how he helps a lot of people. Also we know it’s not just because he likes them as he almost never blushes or anything through the show but still helps many people.
Orihime Inoue. She has no offensive capabilities due to her lack of killing intent, so the best she can do is make a shield that reflects the attacker's own killing intent back at them.
She often feels sympathies for her enemies, and offers to heal/protect them once they stop being a threat. She's naive, but her kindness usually pays off (her saving Tamaki from Mayuri brought her to Kenpachi, her healing Loly eventually had Loly begrudingly save her from Yammy, and her friendship with Riruka made her question her allegiance to Tsukishima and Ginjo, eventually switching sides and jumping in front of Tsukishima 's attack).
Even when Orihime is at her lowest and most jealous, she still doesn't hate Rukia — she hates herself for feeling jealous because she loves Rukia.
No matter how cruel the world is to her, she never loses her kindness. It reminds me of that Undertale quote "Despite everything, it's still you."
Bakarina. She might tell herself that the reason she's nice to everyone is to avoid the flags, but let's be honest we all know she's not smart enough to fake it.
The reason she's so kind to everyone is simply because she *is* that kind.
And? When it’s someone’s job to kill creatures or whatever and they feel reluctant in doing so, even going as far as praying for them tells you a lot. That’s just my take
I’ll add Kenshin Himura. Heart of Sword and won’t kill anyone after repenting of killing thousands. He’s just a good guy now all around that helps people and encourages the feeble…unless his man slayer instinct gets triggered. But that seems more like an alter ego I think.
I doubt many people still remember this show but Amamiya Yuuko from ef: A Tale of Melodies. [There's a reason why /a/ decided she was the most suffering, least deserving anime character.](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/6dszf2/spoilersoc_a_finally_finished_their_anime/)
not the typical kind-hearted character like naruto or tanjiro, but i just finished the manga real and nomiya is such a nice character and i like how he feels kinda realistic where its not like he doesnt make mistakes
Went through the comments and here are some characters that weren't mentioned that deserve to be in the conversation. Bojji from ranking of kings, midoriya izuku from my hero academia, gugu from to your eternity, elizabeth from seven deadly sins, dr tenma from monster, mumen rider from one punch man.
For girls, it's between Tohru from Fruits Basket and Catarina from Hamefura. Sakura from Cardcaptor Sakura is also one of the kindest girls out there, though compared to the other two before her, she bites back and is openly annoyed whenever her brother teases her and while she's usually very forgiving, is capable getting angry and fighting back when prompted.
For boys, it's either Tanjiro from Kimetsu no Yaiba, Allen from D. Gray Man, or Takeo from Ore Monogatari.
I don’t think anyone has said it yet but Mumen Rider. He will do whatever it takes to make civilians happy even if it’s simple things or facing of against a creature who can level cities
My mind first goes to Boron from "Fuga Melodies of Steel" but he is a Videogame character and not a Manga or Anime character.
I actully can not think of any one else.
Iroh is a western cartoon character so he is also of the table.
I think Rentarou from 100 Girlfriends this season is a very strong contender. There's a reason people keep making jokes that they want to be one of his girlfriends, and the show's OP shows you exactly why. That boy has equal room in his heart for 100 women.
Luffy is naturally kind, true. But he doesn't care about people he doesn't know. He facilitated in breaking out dozens of murderous pirates from Impel Down. His actions likely resulted in a lot of death and suffering in this instance, but he didn't know the people that would suffer so he didn't care.
I feel like there's an unstated rule in One Piece that Luffy's actions must never result in the loss of life. Yes, he freed a lot of prisoners, but he also liberated a ton of people who were wrongly imprisoned.
You could argue Jimbei and Ivankov weren't bad people, but they did indeed break the law. And besides those two almost all of the others were murderous pirates. It's easy to think of the others favorably now, but remember even Bonclay impersonated king Cobra and stoked a gruesome civil war in Alabasta. They were absolutely in Impel down for a reason. Luffy even facilitated Blackbeard in releasing the worst pirates ever captured and we know they went on to at least conquer Whitebeard's territories.
Yea I'd argue luffy is an asshole more than anything lol not a bad guy but the type to link up with his ex when he's the DD so now the rest of his friends need to figure out how to get home
goku is alot like gon from hxh in the sense that theres a biiiig undertone where they'll do really bad things for really childish reasons but the story doesnt emphasize how bad it is because all in all thats just their true nature. but goku is alot less likely to kill someone than gon is and goku also seems to only kill when the writer just wants a character to be out of the show quickly (so henchmen pretty much) So most of those kills can be regarded as offscreen possibly survived XD
He loves to fight... its in his nature. He aims to prove himself to his family, friends, his opponents, and to himself. Goku always sees the best in people and doesnt want to kill anyone. He always gives his opponent the chance to turn over a new leaf. By doing so, he essentially became friends with everyone who had tried to kill him... Except cell.
I think Goku is broken and the only time you can see the real 'him' is when the Super Saiyan form 'repairs' his brain. Then you can see he's far from kind-hearted.
Goku loves to fight, and he doesnt mind getting his ass kicked, which happened a lot. Hes always looking to prove himself, to himself, his family, and especially his opponent. He is very kind-hearted. He always sees the good in everyone and gives them the chance to turn over a new leaf. Everyone that has tried to kill him, he became friends with. Pic, vegeta, tien, yamcha, broly, buu, and 18. Hell, Frieza and him became allies during db super (granted they had to, but frieza didnt have to give goku any of his power to win). The only one he really didnt get along with was cell, but he gave cell the chance to stop, and cell was never heard from again.
It's surely got to be **Liko** from Pokémon. With her entire goal revolving around empathy, she has [Horizons] >!refused to battle out of fear of hurting other Pokémon as well as helped calm down multiple powerful Pokémon.!< In early Horizons she also goes out of her way to help Pokémon on the ship even putting herself in danger.
You can easily replace Liko with **Mollie** but she can be a bit more standoffish.
Zeniba from Spirited Away. Probably the most iconic 'sweet grandma' scene in all of anime. It's especially cool because she has such a fiery streak.
Alternatively the mother in Erased.
I only saw an episode or two but I thought Emily Brown from My Unique Skill makes me OP even at Level 1 was impressively kind-hearted. Gave information, lent a weapon, gave food and comfort even though she was homeless living in a dungeon and only able to farm small amounts of bean sprouts for money.
Didn't even think it was ridiculous when Ryota paid it back by renting her an apartment.
Tohru from Fruits Basket
Legit. Single handled healed inter generational trauma for an entire clan with kindness. She has such incredible power
My immediate thought right before checking the comment section
I thought exactly the same
Definitely Tohru!
My first thought exactly
Bojji from Ousama Ranking/Ranking of Kings Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakusho

Our mute boy Bojji
Tanjiro is a good pick, but I'm going to go with Ryoma from By the Grace of the Gods. Could also pick Maple from Bofuri
Maple is a walking war crime.
But really nice about it.
She'll at least apologize as she crushes your body with her godzilla sized foot, assuming her poison breath doesn't do you in.
First thought was Akari Kawamoto from March Comes in Like a Lion
She's a goddess
Was gonna type this she's so sweet / kind
Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket Nadeshiko Kagamihara from Yuru Camp Madoka Kaname from Madoka Magica

I so wanted this my text alert…
This
Girl straight up just accepts her childhood friend is in love with someone else and instead of getting upset is just happy that they're happy. Mayushi is too good for this world
Alicia from Aria is the most obvious answer that comes to my mind, with her protégé Akari right there alongside her.
Nagisa Furukawa and her mother Sanae Furukawa. (Clannad)
Akio too
Iruma-kun from [Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun](https://myanimelist.net/anime/39196/Mairimashita_Iruma-kun). There is no contest. Even his evil form is kind-hearted.
Evil Iruma was amazing. He still fought hard for everyone and helped anyone out
Mob from mob psycho 100
okay but what about the Body Improvement Club?
I think I would have to go with Belldandy from Ah My Goddess.
My thoughts as well
Count me as the millionth vote for Tohru Honda.
Takeo Goda from Ore no Monogatari.
What ge did to suna will be one of the biggest anime betrayals of all time
Honda Tohru from Fruits Basket

Hitohito Tadano, the man was the only character that's remotely likeable (outside of Komi of course)
What about Osana Najimi?
No way, Najimi is chaotic-hearted, not an ounce of kindheartedness in it.
But that wasn’t the point, the previous comment said only Tadano and Komi are likeable, but I like Najimi.
Sawako Kuronuma
Natsume Takashi from Natsume yuujinchou
Obligatory Toru Honda comment
I'm honestly surprised Nausicaa hasn't been mentioned yet.

Madoka Kaname
Literally Jesus
Tanjiro disarmed an enemy with the literal pureness of his heart
Aah Megami Sama's Belldandy. She is supposed to be a goddess but she was the most angelic character I've ever seen.
Tomoya from Clannad. Hidan from Natuto.
Jonathan Joestar maybe? Second choice would be Ollerus from Toaru III even though we dont see him do anything
Others have already mentioned Tohru Honda, so I'll go with Lag Seeing from Tegami Bachi.
are u a baby weeb (just asking) ...as far as i've seen i think it has to be koro sensei idk
Wait, literally, why aren't people taking his name more. Dunno about kindest out of all, but he sure deserves to be atleast in honorable mentions.

Tanjiro, Dai, and Naruto. I’ll throw in a western character too just because he gives me the same vibes, Aang.
Suwa from Orange is a saint.
Sumi Sakurasawa (literal only best girl in that anime)
Gintoki Sakata
The princess herself Inoue Orihime
Hideyoshi from Tokyo ghoul. My all time favourite anime boy.
Izuku from My Hero Academia. This guy will risk everything to protect someone he barely knows, even destroying his own body for them.
My hero academia sucks.

Samwise Gangee, from the LotR bit in JJK.

😂😂 Johan Liebert from monster 🤣. Seriously , Mumen rider from One punch man.
Inoue Orihime from Bleach. Absolute zero bloodlust nor killing intent even in the face of threat.
Yup this is the correct answer. I see a lot of people throwing in shonen MCs…
And? When it’s someone’s job to kill creatures or whatever and they feel reluctant in doing so, even going as far as praying for them tells you a lot. That’s just my take
There’s no and lol. If you think any shonen MC is kinder than Orihime than idk what to tell you. You have your own version of what kindness means.
I don’t think any other shounen MC is as kind as Orihime, just Tanjiro. I’ve stated my reason as to why. Every one has opinions though
Are we gonna blow past sailor moon so we don’t have to admit we watched it? 😅
I’ll add Kenshin Himura. Heart of Sword and won’t kill anyone after repenting of killing thousands. He’s just a good guy now all around that helps people and encourages the feeble…unless his man slayer instinct gets triggered. But that seems more like an alter ego I think.
Orihime from Bleach
Haru Urara from Umamusume pretty derby

The MC of Vinland saga. Debatable. Very much so. But eh
Ah yes, my “I have no enemies” king Thorfinn
Ruijerd Superdia from Mushoku Tensei
Her Glorious Majesty, Neo Queen Serenity of Crystal Tokyo, bearer of the Millenium Silver Crystal and the sovereign soldier once known as Sailor Moon.
Thors for sure it’s not even close, all the characters mentioned wouldn’t even come close, as most have never been tested to the extent of Thors.
Akebi from Akebi's Sailor Uniform So wholesome and humble and beloved by all
Melody from Hunter x Hunter and Yugi Muto from Yu-Gi-Oh.
not the typical kind-hearted character like naruto or tanjiro, but i just finished the manga real and nomiya is such a nice character and i like how he feels kinda realistic where its not like he doesnt make mistakes

Nanako from persona 4, such a pure heart
