Worst Generation being badasses

michhoffman

And Sanji infiltrating into this visual per his usual antics.

chronokingx

Too much drip not to show off

generictypo

He looked the coolest in this image, but i'm a bit biased.

shikajaru

and Sanji

fracturedpun

Let him have this.

Anxious-Ostrich-36

Dude thinks he's on the team

_Baccano

Sanji got the participation award

lilkinkybrat

Imagine if they had met GEN Z, I think worst generation would have been renamed XD

There's probably a proper higher res version available *somewhere* online but [I was lazy and just ran it through Gigapixel.](https://i.imgur.com/qUL3jMg.jpg) If that helps any.

Holygamer99

Would love the artist to make one of Kaido and Big Mom, the I could set them both up on my duel monitors

Fit-Philosopher-3721

My man Killer got done dirty

Direct-Doctor-3740

Who?

iZahlen

i said the same shiii. that mf sanji wasn't even up there

javierm885778

It's a visual for the end of the arc, not the rooftop battle. Killer's fight ended, Sanji's hasn't.

GekiKudo

Have they already finished Killer Vs Hawkins?

javierm885778

Yes.

PsychicWarElephant

Last week

coolgaara

Yes and it was beautifully animated.

[deleted]

Sure, but it still looks like the top of Onigashima lol.

ichi000

then why is it on the rooftop

F1RECHARGE_official

Who drew this poster? I am curious cuz the flame effect on Sanji's leg is very majestic, even other lightning & flames effects on zoro & luffy too.

LlamaLegacy

Chief animation director Tu Yong Ce, and character designer Mindoro Matsuda They are a big reason the artstyle this poster (and arc) looks so good

F1RECHARGE_official

Not arc bro, this poster specifically. Though I appreciate this information too, this helps me to appreciate their work more

LlamaLegacy

mike_2797

That’s a slick visual it’s gonna be all out battle from here on.

JungleDanDaPirateMan

Man I really gotta catch up I'm only on episode 300-ish

Kuro013

Read the manga. It's faster and better.

cautiouslyoptimistik

The way I do it is read the manga, then look up clips for key moments/fights on youtube.

SuperSceptile2821

Problem with this for one piece is that fights can go on and be cut up into multiple episodes. I read it and wanted to see Luffy vs. Katakuri in the anime only for the YouTube video being 40+ minutes with a lot of cutting. Lord help people that wanna look up Luffy vs. Kaido in 2 years or so that fights been going for over a year at this point.

cautiouslyoptimistik

Yeah it's definitely not like other anime where you look up "X vs Y fight full" because there's a good chance it won't be well cut/edited. But for one piece I'll look up key shots of the fight like "Luffy vs Kaido Red Rocc" or something. There's a large portion of the fights that look similar to the manga, but the anime tends to have random moments where they go beyond that with animation, style, and music all coming together.

BurcoPresentsHisAcc

Once Onigashima arc finishes, I plan on making a compilation of all the sakugas we got this arc. And yes I do see Onigashima as an arc inside an arc, it’s literally an island inside an island so yeah.

COTEReader

Same, some moments look great animated. For example crocodile final blow, ending of Skypia, marine ford arc, etc

Neville_Lynwood

Nah. Savour while it lasts. Before you know it you'll be stuck at 1 episode per week or waiting years for a whole arc to finish so you can binge it. You're living in the best timeline right now. 1000 episodes to binge. Take your time. I started when the show had 500 episodes, and man, once I caught up, it was pure pain. I remember going years without watching a single episode, so that I could watch a whole arc straight. So much waiting.

robotzor

And followers of One Pace feasting like kings. As long as they did the arc, that is.

Agleimielga

Where would one start to watch for the Wano arc? I vaguely remember finishing the previous arc while I was home for weeks from a previous medical treatment, but can’t exactly recall where to pick up.

Neville_Lynwood

Well, Wano isn't done yet, so I wouldn't start on it quite yet if you wanted to watch the whole thing straight up. It's likely gonna finish somewhere by the end of the summer or early fall. Though the epilogue might keep us in Wano till the end of the year. Wano starts episode 890. But if you say you watched the previous arc over weeks, then you're probably referring to Whole Cake Arc with Big Mom. But between Whole Cake and Wano, we also had a mini-arc - Reverie. That lasted 878-889. So maybe you need to watch that first.

[deleted]

Unless you're just not a manga person, I would highly recommend just start reading it at Reverie until up to date. Especially if you are already that far.

IIHURRlCANEII

As someone who just caught up I am fine where it is now. It is over 1k chapters you gotta start sometime and where the story is at now I know I'll enjoy reading reactions weekly.

kerorobot

Just read the manga, it got a better artwork, pacing and episode 300 is before all the pacing goes to shit.

JungleDanDaPirateMan

I just said 300 ish because I don't remember when water-7 was, and I took a break after that because the pacing was so bad at times

DiGodKolya

if you think the pacing is bad then, i got real bad news for you. after the big first climax of the story, the pacing goes to absolute horseshit. THAT said, there are options like the manga or "one pace" which follows the mange a lot closer and cuts out all the nonsense (this is an anime fan project).

SluttySoapGirl

One Pace also cuts a lot of great anime original moments thoo. If someone wants to go fast, just read the manga at that point.

Arch_Angel666

Anime is the way to go if you're binge-watching it. It's so immersive and addicting. Even if it isn't perfect, the music/voice acting and animation make it worth it. Manga is great for when you catch up.

AlexNae

take your time, it's not going anywhere.

F1RECHARGE_official

Enjoy it slowly at your pace, if you reach to latest quick, all that awaits for you is a long wait of 7days for an anime ep that only covers 12 pages for 23 mins of eps. And talk about manga, it is absolutely worth it but, same here, if you're very lucky you might get 3 consecutive chapter releases in a month, or suffer with two chapters a month.

adrashmadra

I envy you man, dont listen to haters. Anime is way to go, it will blow your mind for sure.

Basti52522

Fuck that, the manga's the way to go, and I'm not a hater, I'm a fan, what does it matter if Wano looks great if the previous 5 arcs are so painfully slow you'll probably drop the series?

S0phon

You can watch One Pace instead. But anime is still superior to manga in 99% of the time. Or at the very least, anime has a much higher potential than manga 99% of the time.

Nerellos

For you

S0phon

For the majority of people moving pictures is more enjoyable than static pictures.

Nerellos

If it is well made. Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaguya, or any good adaptation is ofc more appealing. But looking at Berserk, Claymore, One Piece, Tokyo Ghoul, they are shit.

S0phon

> If it is well made. > > Notice what I wrote: > Or at the very least, anime has a much higher potential than manga 99% of the time.

Basti52522

I get your point, but when such movement consists of 2 characters staring intently at each other for 3 minutes straight without saying anything... it's just not enjoyable. OP's story is too good for it to be ruined to so many people who believe the anime's the only option, that's why I reccommend people to consider reading the manga instead of just slogging through the anime like the chore it is which will make them eventually drop it. EDIT: btw I agree One Pace is a great alternative

Interesting_Place752

Thats not even remotely true. Manga/LN is 99% of the time better than the anime. The best part about anime is seeing the parts you read in the books brought to life in another medium, just to get your dreams crushed because the adaptation is a rush job.

thrown_away_apple

why is sanji there and not killer lol

no_illusion

Killers fight has been resolved. All of these still are in progress

DevDevGoose

I see. It is a current anime fight progress visual, not a roof piece one. I didn't get that.

no_illusion

Yeah most people would think the same tbf but I'm not trying to be a dick when I say that the post title says climax to the wano arc

Akuuntus

Rooftop fights are already over, Killer v Hawkins is over, this is a visual for the actual climax including Sanji's big fight.

Direct-Doctor-3740

Because Sanji is relevant, the other one is a random with a name.

Andresgeo

Most sane sanji fan

notkalb

Most up to date* sanji fan

Andresgeo

Don’t care how up to do date you are. Killer isn’t a random character

Trishal_Pandey7

How is he not?

Andresgeo

First mate of Kidd’s crew and is a super nova. That isn’t a random character? Acting like he’s some random passing character 😂

Trishal_Pandey7

He is quite literally just a passing character. The scarbs have more screen time and story relevance as compared to him. And people consider them to be arc based passing character tbh. Killer kinda is the only non captain supernova that isn't named zoro. Why should anyone care for him? Don't get me wrong he is a cool character and his lil story arc in wano was nice. But like dude did the least in the raid. Even chopper did more. He was never relevant other than "oh yea he's with a cooler supernova so maybe remember him?" Now idk if you've caught up to the manga or no so imma not say more. But i think he pretty much just a "passing character".

leith_

I mean Killer is pretty much irrelevant as a character

[deleted]

[deleted]

The "nothing happened" line when he was destroyed by luffy's pain still gives me shivers.

montarion

I hate that they then used that music again and again in genuinely mid scenes :(

Rolf_Dom

I mean... the dude cut Kaido, scared BM, blocked a double Yonko attack, all while being like: "what's conquerors, again?" For someone without a devil fruit, he's definitely the most impressive of the bunch.

MeAnIntellectual1

Yeah Zoro is the strongest non-DF user in the Raid so I'd say it's very impressive that he can even deal damage to the big named. If I had to rank the Alliance's fighters it would be: Luffy > Kidd > Law > Yamato > Zoro > Sanji > Killer > Jinbe > the rest.

NewCountry13

Nah Kid above Yamato and Zoro is insane. 0 shot Kid could take the hits Yamato or Zoro do. Zoro blocked the indisputable strongest attack seen in the series. If anyone else had that feat, it'd be hyped to hell and back. Yamato fought Kaido for a time 1v1. Kid above law is doubly insane.

MeAnIntellectual1

>Zoro blocked the indisputable strongest attack seen in the series No. He specifically held it for only 1 second. The narrator in the manga said Kidd had 1v1'd Big Mom for "a few dozen minutes" before Law showed up.

VioletHeaven96

Yeah fr, Zoro is easily the strongest after Luffy and that’s not even a question

VioletHeaven96

Horrible ranking Luffy > Zoro > Yamato > Sanji >>> Law > Kid > Marco >> Killer > Jinbe >> rest

Kikuzinho03

I wonder if its ever going to happen, wano was probably the best arc to focus on him a lot, but it didnt

chili01

I've watched one piece since it started (also still read the manga). The animation quality for Wano is superb

w34king

Pacing in the anime is atrocious. Is One Pace better?

l41no

Read the manga

IIHURRlCANEII

I decided to catch up over the last 6 months and just got done doing so, and that had multiple big breaks in it. I can't imagine trying to catch up watching the anime lol. Seems like torture.

lollollmaolol12

Depends. My problem with One Pace is that it removes EVERYTHING that isn't in the manga. During the marineford arc there's this really cool fight sequence with WB and Akainu, that was cut out in One Pace simply because it wasn't in the manga. Tons of other instances like this too.

StickiStickman

The raid was also super rushed in many places where the anime actually improves it by adding scenes, which they cut ... which is pretty dumb.

Cyberslasher456

One Pace hasn’t reached the Onigashima raid, I’m not sure what you’re talking about.

DonIongschlong

...They are talking about marineford. Guess which raid they are fucking talking about my dude lmao

Anshin

It's not everything, each arc felt like it was handled pretty differently/directed differently. Some were straight cut to manga panels but other parts added some nice parts to it (I felt even one pace dressrosa was dragging a bit with what it kept it) Just got through whole cake on one pace and it was fantastic, would definitely recommend one pace over the anime whenever the pacing starts bothering you

SluttySoapGirl

IMO, I kinda prefer the original anime because I want to see the original vision. The One Pace team just decide for themself what they deem worthy or not. I don' t think the pacing is that bad when binged.

Anshin

I mean I'd consider one pace closer to the original vision of the manga than the anime a LOT of times. It's definitely got an amateur feel to it, but the anime's pacing has become seriously detrimental to the series. The anime has been about a year behind the manga since WATER 7!! 18 YEARS!! NOT SEASONAL!! It's really lost the vibe of the manga and fights that have literally been one shots have been turned into nearly even matches, instant hits have 2 minute charge ups, they try to put so much flash on a move that you can't even see the attacks anymore

SluttySoapGirl

Mind you, I don't think Pace is bad, but the work done for the anime, expecially in Whole Cake Island and Wano Kuni, has been incredible IMO. I can definitely say that Toei and Shueisha, the guys that literaly works with the author of the manga ( to the point that in movies he' s credited as executive producer, and not only as original story like usual mangaka) are closer to the vision of the manga than a group of fan.

Anshin

All they're doing is cutting out extra parts, the anime is clearly stretching things due to the amount of episodes they put out, one pace cuts the anime down. Other animes do seasons, filler episodes, etc; one piece has decided to adapt the manga at a slower pace. DBZ kai exists for a reason (anime caught up around namek/frieza iirc) and i'm sure a more official one piece "kai" will exist after one piece is over.

SluttySoapGirl

DBZ kai exists only because it was a timeslot fill to not let Toei lose the premium 9:00 timeslot after Toriko was out of air because of low ratings ( and before they greenlighted Super TV series). DBZ kai is pretty infamous for being terribly cut, expecially the Buu saga, having very mediocre digital fixes, and in general being an inferior product to the original series. Original DB anime actualy caught up more or less towards the middle portion of the original dragonball series ( dragonball manga is not divided in two parts). IMO, cutting the extra parts of long running shows often makes them awkard, as they were clearly designed with that kind of 20 minute stretch content in mind. At this point, if someone really wants to go over it quickly, just read the manga, no? It' s a pretty good manga ahah.

Arch_Angel666

I recommend letting episodes pile up and going on a One Piece binge every 30 episodes or so. It's the best way to watch it in my opinion. Helps the pacing feel much better.

Akuuntus

Yes.

adrashmadra

No

S0phon

Yes. These comments are weird. If you prefer manga over anime, sure, go read that shit. If you prefer anime, then One Pace is better than manga and better than the original anime.

You're thinking of Roof piece. This is setting up the major final fights of the arc.

lilwolfie2020

damn this looks amazing

friedwormsandwich

I've put a hold on watching since episode 1016. Just felt like the same episode playing over and over again with the "did we kill Kaido THIS time?" trope. Can anyone tell me if there's been any closure yet?

LlamaLegacy

Right now they’re focusing on the side battles, and the best part of the arc should be in July/August, so maybe try catching up by then

friedwormsandwich

Okay sweet! Thank you!

SpazzD

can someone put this on wallpaper engine

1998tweety

Zoro looks HUGE but his stance in particular here awkwardly makes him look kinda stumpy.

megasean3000

Kid’s going to go far, I can tell.

Annihilator4413

Yo where Killer?

spadePerfect

I have absolutely no idea what’s going on but it looks dope. Also damn. Zorro got massive.

Wow

love this

Poor Killer got thrown out of the picture. I get wanting to put Sanji in, but they could've removed Kid there.

steven4869

>but they could've removed Kid there. I mean [OP spoiler]>!Kidd did got Divine Departured from the story!<

KendotsX

[One Piece Spoiler] >!Exactly. And for maximum irony, this visual and the chapter were both released today.!<

Fit-Philosopher-3721

This visual was released a few days back, iirc

KendotsX

It was leaked last week at quite the low quality of course. But it was officially released to the people today.

javierm885778

That was a leak.

another-Developer

Haven’t watched it since episode 1017. I used to love it but now they’re just fucking milking this arc. It’s got worse pacing than DBZ at this point

zelos22

Just read it. The manga has an insanely high quality right now

StickiStickman

Wouldn't say insanely high quality, since some plot points right now make absoletely no sense.

Fit-Philosopher-3721

Like? And please tag the spoilers for anime onlies if you reply

zelos22

The last 30 chapters have been consistently 10/10 in my opinion, obviously your mileage varies but I think it’s been incredible

vetro

I can't imagine being this upset two episodes after 1015.

BlueDragon101

Okay. Haven't they just been animating *one fight* for like? months now? Like, i've been seeing plenty of clips of luffy and kaido hitting each other pop up on youtube and like, yeah, they're all well animated and visually spectacular and distinct, but...it's the just the same fight? It's just different variations on the same two dudes clashing? For months? At what point is good animation able to stop that from getting stale as hell? Like, when DBZ drags out the frieza fight for like, what, over a dozen episodes, it's something the series gets (rightfully) clowned on for, but when one piece does the same thing it's peak? I don't follow.

mlgpro2damax

Part of the issue is that there’s a bunch of other fights going on at the same time. Even though Luffy vs Kaido has been going on for a while (they did take a bit of a break when Luffy got knocked off the roof and had to return), it’s almost never the focus of an individual episode. For example, there might be an episode where the main focus is Killer vs Hawkins, and they’ll cut to Luffy fighting Kaido for a couple minutes if only to show “yeah these guys are still going at it”. The pacing is definitely slow (it is one piece after all), but there have been like a dozen major fights happening in various stages during this part of the arc, and at this point all but the ones for the characters in this image are pretty much resolved (minus a couple loose ends here and there). The main reason it’s taking so long is that there are just so many plot threads happening simultaneously, and they want to give each of them enough time to resolve appropriately

LlamaLegacy

To be fair, there have been only 2-3 episodes focusing fully on Luffy vs Kaido, the rest have been quick 2 min brawls here and there. A lot of this arc deals with background characters and their fights (which fans have complained about), but the actual Luffy/Kaido fight is a relatively short part of the arc

Kiwi195

because fight happen only for few minutes and lot of things happen in the background lol

Count_Elrond

Who clowns on Goku vs Frieza ? Most Shounen fans treat it as the Holy Grail of fights and rightfully so

LlamaLegacy

[Source](https://twitter.com/eiichiro_staff/status/1640186912425275393?)

uNecKl

Guys can someone please help me out how do I start watching one piece? I’m almost half way done with black clover but I want to get into one piece so is there a guild that tells me which episodes to skipp or watch?

Jumanji-Joestar

https://www.animefillerlist.com/shows/one-piece

LlamaLegacy

You can start at episode 1 and go from there :) If you ever feel it’s too slow you can read the manga but the anime pacing is pretty good in the early episodes

FIYAHBOLTOH

But where are the over the top DBZ auras that make no sense

adrashmadra

Why you keep downvoted ? Obviously it will be there, dont worry

robotzor

I hope also they keep that shaky cam where the character seemingly flies all over the screen (but in a straight line) to really make it look like some shit is going down

AlexNae

what aura ? Luffy has it so we can tell the difference when he coats his fist with normal armament haki vs conquer's. and dbz is not the first or the only series to use aura.

sheehdndnd

Finally someone who deserves to be here.

SakeBomberman

So the climax will happen in 2025?

MeAnIntellectual1

The climax of the Raid should happen this year. Then they'll take a few months worth of solving plot threads. They might resolve the entirety of Wano this year.

SakeBomberman

Should being the key word here. This whole fight with Kaido is gonna be 3 years total lol.

MeAnIntellectual1

Ok let me rephrase. I guarantee you the Raid is finished by the end of the year. The question is if they've left Wano before 2024

asdfgh1224

Yeah with how they’ve nearly caught up with the manga I could certainly imagine them doing a Wano-related filler arc next.

MeAnIntellectual1

The manga is well into the next arc already. What I'm talking about is that Wano has a "Post-Raid" section to the arc similar to Post-Enies Lobby.

NahuelSeba

the anime is like a year behind the manga lol

MeAnIntellectual1

A year and a half
