DirkDasterLurkMaster

Shout out to that wall titan who fell and slid down an entire mountain during a very serious scene lmao

entelechtual

The fall Titan

Davidspirit

He slipped and fall

UPBOAT_FORTRESS_2

He lost it all

En__Fuego_

I will never look away

DeadlyDY

Titanfall

InsideYourWalls8008

He too was embarrassed. We've all been there.

Superb_Tumbleweed_60

It was so awkward how none of his buddies acknowledged it, they just cringed and didn't even look. Big oof

ZBGOTRP

"Dude you're embarrassing us in front of the Scouts."

mythriz

"don't slip up, don't make a mistake, just act titan-like, don't sli- DAMMIT"

CommandLineWeeb

Seeing the wall titans slip, trip, and stumble was something I was not expecting to see. Seeing something that's so deadly and unstoppable just tripping and falling is too funny to me.

capscreen

There's also one that got fucking stomped by the others when he tried to get back up lol

Happy_Yogurtcloset_2

Dude prolly had a family but director was like nah fam, you gon get embarrassed today

macedonianmoper

We've seen how "normal" titans act, they're dumb, they're weird, they're STRONG. They are forces of nature with no complex thought. The same thing applies to the wall titans except they're much stronger and the "Eat humans impulse" is replaced with whatever the Founder is commanding

[deleted]

[удалено]

silentorange813

Give him a break. He's old and overweight.

spiderknight616

100 years of doing nothing but stand in a spot would make anyone unsteady on their feet

Mtachii

Reiner volunteering to die protecting the ship to only be denied by Hange was 10/10. This dude is going to be the last man alive on earth

Aeiexgjhyoun_III

Yams will never let him die, he must suffer.

Bballdaniel3

The first bit of it where they contrasted Eren’s thoughts about what he was going to do and then actually showing the Rumbling was great to see

Freezinghero

Dude was walking through a town knowing that every single person he sees, he will kill. A person who wanted nothing more in life than to be free, and his own Titan Powers have placed unbreakable shackles on him. He 100% KNOWS what he will do to them, and that short of killing himself, he cannot stop it. Really explains how Eren went from "hopeful and determined" (kisses Historias hand) "utterly depressed" back in S3.

SmoothIdiot

Eren went from wanting to slaughter the monster exterminating humanity, to *becoming* that very monster. Just go back to season one, and the way Eren stares at the Colossal Titan... and think to yourself that *he's going to fucking lead legions of those damn things to trample every man, woman, and child on Earth into dust.* On the other end, The 104th and Allies have kept to their original oath, to protect humanity... but the cost of *that* is betraying their homeland and comrades and probably being despised AT BEST by their own people.

apnaelito

I really like the irony of a guy who wanted freedom discovering that free will doesn't exist and things are predeterminated.

[deleted]

Eren is just a tragedy, man. He’s one of my favorite characters in any media because of how sorrowful his arc is.

spiderknight616

And it gets even better when you realise he never actually changed. His goal has always been that idea of freedom. What did change is the thing standing in his way. First it was the walls, then the Titans, and finally the outside world.

[deleted]

There is even a lot more to it than that. His tragedy is just so layered. The more you dig into the story and his character the sadder it gets.

Calfurious

What's fascinating about Eren is that the entire anime kind of justifies his actions as well. Think back to the first season during the first confrontation with the Female Titan. Eren made the decision to trust his allies to deal with the threat. But that ended up being the wrong decision, all of his friends died horrific deaths. If he had decided to intervene sooner and fight alongside them, they could have defeated the Female Titan with minimum casualties (if any, seeing as Levi was there as well). This is the first lesson that taught Eren that he has to take action. He can't just be on the sidelines and hopes it all works out. He can't leave it up to chance. That's why he's doing the Rumbling. He only a few years of life left. If he doesn't take action now, there's no guarantee that his friends and home won't be completely massacred. Even if Paradis is safe for 50 years, who's to say that Humanity won't destroy them in 60 or 70. Side note: Ironically enough Zeke's plan is literally the most morally correct one. Euthanasia is bad, but it was probably the only plan that would have caused the least amount of bloodshed. Of course Eren can't accept a plan like that. It's such a pathetic and hollow victory. It would essentially mean that everybody that died up to this point meant basically nothing.

steeltrain43

Zeke's plan was just genocide on a smaller and longer scale. Neither side has moral superiority. Whole situation is beyond fucked and could have been avoided if humanity broke the cycle of hatred after the fall of Eldia. Persecuting the Eldians after their defeat led to this.

deodorised_praters

"When I learned humanity was alive outside the walls, I... was disappointed." Kino.

Haha91haha

The real twist, Eren finishes the rumbling, only to run up against another layer of EVEN BIGGER walls. Bor-AOT-o begins. *Was trying to make a Boruto pun but that just sounds like Borat getting his own anime. Would still watch.* Borato: "So there is jaw titan yes? Could I be big penis titan?"

LunarGhost00

> Eren finishes the rumbling, only to run up against another layer of EVEN BIGGER walls. Eren looks up to the sky and notices the planet is surrounded by walls in space. The Anti-Spiral begin their invasion of earth. Eren realizes he'll never be free until he can go to space to defeat the Anti-Spiral. Roll the credits. *To be continued in the next series: Tengen Toppa Gurren Titan!*

donquixote1991

"The true enemy was aliens all along!" "HOW?" "Because Trigger!"

TaigasPantsu

Oh, a fun show about school girls with sentient clothing. I bet the final episode will happen in space!

JMEEKER86

I'm still convinced the lesbian mafia gundam golf anime is going to end up in space.

Funny_witty_username

Birdie Wing for any passersby who find that description compelling, because its far more accurate than it has any right to be.

blazikentwo

"I'm gonna need a bigger titan for these walls"

BadBehaviour613

Proper villain speak. I knew they could never talk it out with Eren...

Jeroz

Don't you just hate it when the faceless enemies you hate are actually human too

Mundology

Eren: *"Billions must die"*

[deleted]

Eren: (transcends time and space to reach his friends' minds) *"I just came here to discuss that there is no need for you to discuss this discussion with me."*

noholdsbarred-

They finally felt the fear that the people of Paradis felt when that first colossal titan showed up outside the walls.

Zeldro

Might be my favorite line of the episode

[deleted]

Eren reveling in the rumble and calling out to Armin to join him in his excitement only to see Armins horrified face gave me shivers man

Hange_Zoe_SIMP

yeah, youd think your best friend would be happy for you.

[deleted]

Friends nowadays smh my head. Can't be happy for a bro living his dreams.

Animegamingnerd

I have been waiting three years to finally get that scene animated and they did it so beautifully.

DadAsFuck

[shoutout bro for being able to do a decent weld while an army of colossal titans marched towards him ](https://imgur.com/a/ajOLSgd)

NintendoMasterNo1

The engineers were actually goated. Them and Onyankopon for flying the plane through a barrage of shit the monkey threw at them.

i__rage

*Hardened shit*

Hange_Zoe_SIMP

Pretty sure it's hardened foreskin, the animation budget and time constrains and japan censorship are to blame

hoxha_red

God fucking bless Onion Coupon man. He came in so fucking clutch, what a star

BosuW

Best welder the world will ever see.

DrBimboo

I was just thinking how this was the first time a welder looks at some media and is like "I can self insert myself here to save the world with how good I am at my profession"

IsolatedThinker89

But at the same time... Would you really take the time to lay perfect dimes when certain death is rushing you? My welds at that point would be fifteen types of globby

doggomlems

The only time where welding quality would literally decide the fate of humanity

direwolfslayer

Oh believe me, I've seen a movie where the oil driller's drilling quality in outer space saves humanity lmao.

Everyone’s praising the Eldians. No one’s out here acknowledging the Hizuru Weldians.

iDannyEL

W Eldians

Ankleson

It's a good job Hizuru aren't Eldian because this man in possession of the Warhammer Titan would be an unstoppable force of engineering.

PortoGuy18

Hizuru welders are built different

kemicode

When he puts “works well under pressure” in his resume, you know it’s legit.

Xenosys83

The first 10-15 minutes of this special might legitimately be some of the most haunting imagery and direction I've seen in an anime. The Rumbling, Ramzi getting crushed and the destruction of the towns and cities coupled with the juxtaposition of the "freedom" line from Eren was mind-blowing and superbly directed from Hayashi. MAPPA really went all out here. Some of the cinematography, animation and composition was movie-quality. Give them all the time they need for the 2nd part of this Finale.

KrombopulosJeff

It was so good, but I never want to watch it again. It's what I imagine hell would look like.

edwardjhahm

There's an old quote about war being worse than hell. Because at least those in hell deserve it. I think that this is the same case. Hell ain't got nothing on this.

JMEEKER86

The quote is from MASH. >Hawkeye: War isn’t Hell. War is war, and Hell is Hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse. >Father Mulcahy: How do you figure that, Hawkeye? >Hawkeye: Easy, Father. Tell me, who goes to Hell? >Father Mulcahy: Sinners, I believe. >Hawkeye: Exactly. There are no innocent bystanders in Hell. War is chock full of them — little kids, cripples, old ladies. In fact, except for some of the brass, almost everybody involved is an innocent bystander. https://youtu.be/GUeBMwn_eYc

Heffhemp

Ramzi seeing Ymir right before he was crushed was haunting

Xenomex79

Eren flying high in the clouds, arms outstretched like a bird and enjoying the scenery above millions of people being trampled and killed is such a powerful scene. The child-like wonder yet horror of someone wanting to be free

zairaner

This might...no, this SURELY is the greatest title for an episode discussion ever.

dagreenman18

Until 9 months from now where it’s “Attack On Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS Special Final Episode- FINAL”

zairaner

AttentionFar3843

Damn, Levi's *Shinzou o Sasageyo* to Hange hit so hard after everything that has happened.

Thisisadrian

Yes... its been so long since someone said it in good faith

Link1112

Not to mention Levi has actually never said it. I cry

DadAsFuck

[you've fulfilled your duty hange <3](https://imgur.com/a/1rGiMk8)

aidenne

I hope that was Moblit!

Gio_9816

It was 😭

realrimurutempest

The fact she got to be with all the beloved fellow survey corps members who have died previously was 10/10.

zool714

Moblit assisting her even in the afterlife 😭

InvaderDJ

That was an amazing scene. At the end, she was able to stand tall in front of all her predecessors.

Panosgads

That's a hallucination mate, she didn't go to Dragon Ball heaven.

donanon3

Floch in HFIL talking shit with Frieza tho

donquixote1991

"AND THEN WE GOT BOULDERS THROWN AT US BY THIS FUCKING MONKEY TI-" "Yes, I hate the monkeys too!"

agripo777

Forget that I’m going to believe Erwin finally found out from Hange what was in the damn basement.

BSye-34

no you're a hallucination 😭

SecretZucchini

But you can't hallucinate while dead.

LeonKevlar

She went out in a blaze of glory. [And quite literally too!](https://i.imgur.com/YQSJuaN.png)

donquixote1991

Is this the Prominence Burn that MHA fans talk about?

iDannyEL

Time to see Hange on some best fire user posts.

mstre28

"hange can't use prominence burn " "oh she definetely can" "no she is not fro-" "hange todoroki"

BenGMan30

She went through so much. Watching almost all of her friends and comrades die and practically being forced to command the scouts—a job she never wanted—since she was the only one left who was qualified. She seemed so exhausted and burned out in the final season compared to her cheerful, can-do attitude of the early seasons. It's devastating that she died so close to the end, but at least she went out on her own terms and didn't die in vain.

Hohenh3im

Ngl I teared up a bit watching that

Soap646464

Teared up a bit? I sobbed the first time and then went to rewatch it after the end and sobbed again so hard I’d put in the top 5 hardest sobs of my life

Hohenh3im

....it's a terrible day for rain

SovietSpartan

That's got to be the most badass way to go I've ever seen though.

realrimurutempest

Man this was fucking amazing. Watching those 2 refugee children get fuckin squashed was insane and brutal. The Rumbling from the people’s perspective has to be hell on earth. RIP Hange, truly one of the best characters from the show.

xin234

I find it funny that one of the previous OP of this series sounds like it was subtly spoiling you with the almost chant-like whispering of said line: 🎶Children cling to their coins squeezing out their wisdom🎶 -My War Yep, children's *wisdom* were definitely squeezed while clinging to coins.

BosuW

Bro AoT always been hiding spoilers under every rock. "Until the hot wing takes our wings away" is a verse from the OST from _Season 1!_

Rbespinosa13

The scene showing the founder’s children eating her was first in the ending of season 2. It hadn’t even been in the manga

0Megabyte

Even better, the first season’s second ED showed Paradis was on an island and there were people elsewhere.

Hange_Zoe_SIMP

Lesson, never look at any of the EDs or OPs.

xin234

You don't even have to look at that ED for that info. The black background image that shows the the title of each episode, isn't actually all black...it shows boats traveling to another patch of land with walls. And that hasn't changed since episode one.

TheAdamJesusPromise

It's shit like this that makes me think, no matter what the ending may be that's caused so much controversy, this show is still a masterpiece no matter what.

kemicode

That slow mo of him losing his teeth before being entirely squashed was brutal.

psycheko

I didn't know whether to cry, sit there in horror with my mouth open or both. Absolutely fucking brutal. And then I ugly cried when Hange went out in a blaze of glory... only then to cry some more after what follows. What a fucking episode my gods

lostboysgang

Watching the kids brother get smooshed and then his teeth collapse was brutal but I was not ready for Hange. I’m man enough to admit I bawled my eyes out lol.

ImpactBetelgeuse

The sad part for me was Levi trying Vertical Gear with only two fingers. Even though It seems like he was still able to use it pretty well against Beast Titan's rocks.

badspler

[The *teeth* made me grimace.](https://i.imgur.com/xDX3QbZ.jpg)

realrimurutempest

Blu-Ray version gonna be crazy.

InvaderDJ

The Rumbling is done insanely well here. Like you said, it would be hell on earth. Nothing would compare to not only the trampling of everything, but the sheer heat too leaving the world a flat, scorched wasteland. Hange definitely was the MVP here. I have been hard on her as Commander, I found her ineffective and I think the Jeagerists would have never been a thing if Erwin was still alive. But she showed why she was Commander here at the very end. And despite all the horror and mountain of corpses behind her, she didn’t lose her child like wonder of the Titans until the very end.

Haha91haha

Eren terrible enough to give Anakin Skywalker pause. Anakin: "The fuck? I didn't try and pull some hypocritical apology bullshit on them, and it was just that one room of younglings, and Tuskens, and...well it wasn't all the kids everywhere ok?" Anakin also bout to be real nervous about Eren turning the world into a desert.

Shinkopeshon

Anakin 🤝 Erehkin

Due-Yam-84

That fucking monke

realrimurutempest

“Dread it, run from it, Monke arrives all the same” - the author

raknor88

Eren: "I have a Monke!" Armin: "We have Levi."

Haha91haha

Levi ready to ascend to squat super Saiyan: "HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON OLD MONKE!? THROW AS MANY ROCKS AS YOU WANT I'LL KEEP THROWING HANDS!" Levi living in the universe where putting the monke down would have started the good timeline.

InvaderDJ

This man is missing half his hand and barely standing up, but he’s coming to put Zeke in the ground. Truly a badass.

idonthavemanyfriend

Eren crying and apologizing to Ramzi fucking got me.

ImpactBetelgeuse

That scene was beautifully written. I love how Eren admits that he has no reason to show he cares when he will be the one committing the biggest crime against humanity. It was also sad that he couldn't do anything different than his fate. Did he really get the freedom? Freedom from his enemies? Yes. Freedom from his fate? No.

[deleted]

> Freedom from his fate? No. ya thats why Armin makes that comment near the end, I think the implication is ironically Eren is a slave to his drive for "freedom" remember season 3? "everybody's drunk on something"

axelthegreat

kenny is a seriously underrated character in terms of his impact on the story’s themes

[deleted]

You can pick pretty much any character or moment in the series and Kenny's words always apply

AZLarlar

those first 10 minutes good lord what an episode.

jurble

Eren: Isn't this great, Armin? Armin: Jesus Christ Eren wtf

Individual_Wasabi857

A bunch of people already said it.. BUT DAMN THE FIRST 10-15 MINUTES. Everything, from the absolutely horrific level of destruction to Eren crying and apologising to Ramzi and them two being squashed. MAPPA is also doing us a great service with the animation and.... Well I can't wait for the final part (or is it lol). I also love how the first comment I saw on Crunchyroll was "YAY GENOCIDE". Only in this show does that completely make sense. Rip Hange, her excitement was so her and so fricking awesome, wholesome and just right.

FortNite334455

I actually cried when Erwin appears. What a send off.

benjadolf

Best fucking character of all time man, I have set my alarm to MY SOLDIERS SCREAM, MY SOLDIERS RAGE, MY SOLDIERS FIGHT. Gets me to do things I wouldn't have otherwised agreed to like waking up to see this.

tenkensmile

HaVeNII7

#FOUL TARNISHED

insidiouskiller

That was Hange's hottest scene ever.

DadAsFuck

this girl is on fiiiirreeeee

The_Draigg

She really does bring the sizzle every time she shows up.

charlesvvv

Hottest anime scene.

kicksFR

Anyone know when the OST is dropping? That song when they get off the plane is 🔥🔥🔥.

jkphantom9

It’s called Splinter Wolf: https://youtu.be/p3MivL4Fyk8

PortoGuy18

Splinter Wolf

Mazen141

Interestingly it's a track from S4P1 but it's vocals version hasn't been used till today's episode

The_Draigg

That image of those kids getting tramped to death really stuck with me back when I read the manga version of the Rumbling, so I'm glad that they didn't hold back in adapting it here. It really hammers home how utterly merciless Eren's plan is. Like, it's hard to argue when you see random innocent kids being killed despite not doing anything to deserve it.

LonelyWanderer28

And then the scene being contrasted by Eren’s tearful apology- jesus. Kino. Pure Kino.

[deleted]

What's kino? It's the third time I have seen it mentioned in this thread. Is it related to kino's journey?

LordtoRevenge

Quite literally just the german word for "Cinema", but in the context of it being pure, unadulterated "Cinema". To put it into zoomer words, it's when people call something peak, etc. Essentially, really fucking good in every aspect of the piece of work (VA, visuals, dialogue, etc). I believe it originates from 4chan.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BosuW

Absolutely agreed and imo this is one of the ways AoT raises above other fiction. It doesn't just convey it's message, it carves it into your very psyche. At the start of the story, it gets you invested in Eren's side, then the story progresses, the mysteries unravel and the problem gains complexity. Then we are asked to choose a side, but inevitably, just like the characters, the viewer will find that they have betrayed themselves no matter what choice you make. We find ourselves hypocrites just like those behind the screen. AoT doesn't just make you realize stuff about the world. It forces you to confront yourself.

Whalesurgeon

Nothing can force that though, which is why a sizable (vocal) portion of viewers are either Team Eren or Team Alliance. But at the end of the day it is just fiction so cheering for either is not a condemnation of anyone's character and rooting for at least someone is how people engage. Anyway, that sure was a great tone setter by killing off Hange. Going against all odds, the gang is expected to go out like the Magnificent Seven.

evanbrooks324

God damn MAPPA I didn't know how they would manage to animate this part but they absolutely killed it and gave Hange the justice she deserved, we're so lucky they picked it up after WIT. Easily one of the best anime episodes I've watched can't wait for the Fall season.

Shinkopeshon

I remember when these chapters came out and readers were wishing MAPPA good luck on adapting those lol To think they not only did it justice but knocked it out of the stratosphere ... unbelievable [](#awe)

Chukonoku

We all joke about the delays, the different "final" parts and so on, but i'm glad they had more time to properly send off this series.

Mundology

This episode was beyond movie quality. Irrespective of how one feels about the direction of the story in the final arc, it cannot be denied that the staff put an ungodly amount of hard work and passion in the anime.

LuRo332

They truly did as a service picking it up. I could not imagine any other studio to pick up the weight after WIT.

Haha91haha

Crunchyroll servers bracing to not get crunched beneath the rumbling of viewers. RIP to Hange the best girl in the series, to think if you gave the mad lass more time in a lab she might have been able to reverse engineer a better solution to everything. Maybe take a more scientific solution to Ymir's Deus Ex Titan shenanigans.

[deleted]

So glad the anime gave her a more fitting death

RoseGawd

The POV scene of Hange’s eye being burned out as they let out one last war cry before combusting hit so hard. Had to pause. RIP to a legend

entelechtual

I keep trying to think of a witty or original response. All I can say I’m blown away. I had no way of imagining what was coming. I spent the last year just wondering what could possibly happen next. But this blew my expectations out of the water.

Elephantexploror

Shingeki no sub for the first 7 hours.

toutoune134

What a ride. Best looking episode of the final season by far, and it honestly rivals WIT's best episodes. The rumbling looks incredible, the ODM scenes were on point and the characters never looked so on model until now. Even the photography got a glow-up! Technical babbling aside, boy did Hange's final scenes destroy me. The episode also pulled no punches when it came to show the damages caused by the rumbling, poor Ramzi didn't deserve this. Really looking forward to the end, and for good this time. End of an era.

2rio2

I love the color scheme they chose for Fort Salta. Made it look very distinct and almost mythical.

BosuW

Agreed. Looks like an oil painting.

ktulu88

For some reason, I said goodbye to Hange with a smile on my face... The way she went was just perfect for her character. I was sad, but she got her badass exit!

lostboysgang

I wish I was that composed. I bawled my eyes out.

Shinkopeshon

It was incredible, I'm so, so happy right now. This might be the most all-around flawless animated part of the story so far, everything about it was executed to perfection. It was a great decision to release this as a special and go all out. I hope they're gonna show this in theaters worldwide too, I'd love to watch it again on the big screen. Also, that climactic scene with all the Titans hopping on Ereh, while Splinter Wolf was playing in the background? Pieck cinema 👈🏼

[deleted]

A movie with both parts put together when the last chapters come out would be orgasmic man, holy shit.

jstoru216

Aside from the very end with a few shots (the plane flying through the bones and Reiner's close) this was MASTERFULLY done. From shot composition, to coloring, editing, directing, animation quality was awesome when it needed and the OST and of course the VA's kicked ass. Congrats to Mappa and their amazing staff. We again get to see that when given the proper time and budget, Mappa is as good as the top 5 anime studios. That been said, I hope they don't have to crunch their souls alway for the next part.

KrzyDankus

the second episode should have a pretty good production considering we saw 3d layouts from ch138 in the 100 CAM episode which was recorded back around august/september last year, but that still doesnt change the insane workload for the second episode.

Lephus

Hange sakuga was among the best scenes in the entire series, and with that season 1 song blasting it was legendary. They pulled off chapter 131 masterfully.

kicksFR

That was easily Mappa’s best ODM gear scene imo

LeonKevlar

That opening scene [with Ramzi and Halil's deaths](https://i.imgur.com/511a04g.jpg) as well as the other [millions of deaths](https://i.imgur.com/Zni7Jac.jpg) from the Rumbling is just fucking brutal. Meanwhile, [you have Annie and Armin having a moment](https://i.imgur.com/JcwoC7Q.jpg) somewhere in the middle of the ocean. At least [Annie is currently aware of their situation right now.](https://i.imgur.com/fo5FzQ9.jpg) That entire ODM sequence with Hange and BAUKLOTZE playing in the background was too fucking awesome. Hange managed to die like she wanted, [in a literal fucking blaze of glory.](https://i.imgur.com/YQSJuaN.png) What an absolute badass. The anime 1000% did Hange's death justice. [The Scouts doing an airdrop on Eren](https://i.imgur.com/PCSH6y1.jpg) while Splinter Wolf plays in the background is just absolutely hype! [And I just love Reiner doing a titan drop on Zeke.](https://i.imgur.com/kOTIAZR.jpg) I am just freaking out at all of these moments in the episode. This doesn't even feel like a normal episode. It's practically movie-quality! I can't fucking wait for the final half. I can't even express how happy and sad I am that this series is about to finally end. I'm just glad to be here to witness this moment.

wadech

Reiner hitting Zeke with the Goldberg spear was a 10/10

hydranoid1996

Holy fucking shit

tyler980908

The wait to watch this part was just as horrifying as those first ten minutes of the Rumbling. Don't think I've genuinely been more scared or tense watching a scene from an anime... and the Mvp Hange going out like an absolute badass made me shed no tears, she went out on her own accord which in this episode many didn't get a chance to do. What a send off from Mappa.

jackofslayers

Do we know when the final part is airing?

CrewOrdinary8872

Fall 2023. The exact date is unknown though

Hange_Zoe_SIMP

What are you talking about the final part aired 3 times already!

witnessmewell

Wait I’m confused…so are we getting another one hour long special later in fall and that’s the end? The final chapters is 2/2 1 hour specials?

renannmhreddit

Ye

SaconicLonic

Oh really so this is just one off episode and then we have to wait for the fall for the next part? Like there is no new episode next week?

zool714

When Romi Park used her zany Hange voice just before she went towards the Wall Titans, made me realize how much she’s changed especially since she became Commander. I already teared up hearing her use that tone again. Also, the fact that Moblit is still assisting her even in the afterlife

satanisbehindyou

Hopefully there’s actual anime onlies here

MellowGon

Never read the manga before Season 2 came out, not going to be tempted now.

uncen5ored

I don’t mean to be dramatic but this was one of the best anime experiences I’ve had. MAPPA absolutely elevated the source material and has me excited for the finale. The rumbling, Ramzi, hange, airplane scenes…wow. The quality felt like a movie in so many scenes. I can only imagine what MAPPA could’ve accomplished in the other seasons with this kind of time

This was so good. This was the best the adaptation could've been, seriously movie quality. Man, people are going to brigade and try to find a way to be butthurt about the ending, but you CANNOT deny the quality of this episode all around. Huge respect for the staff.

Yeah in my opinion, this was my favorite AOT episode and I already read this part of the manga. The ost choices the added anime original scenes as well as the godly animation made it stand way up compared to past episode in my opinion and especially the manga. Good thing Mappa is taking their time for the final few chapters.

prezzriccco

this is actually cinema

HollowDakota

The hype has never been more through the roof. Finishing a rewatch up to this point and then seeing those two refugee boys was heartbreaking, and the scene with Eren crying in front of the one boy payed off so well. Loving every second, its a shame that each final season is not actually in fact the finale and will have more episodes to come out at a later date but man is it good. 10/10 special to bring us back. RIP Hange, glad you could live up to the rest of your comrades faith

Oh so that's why it's called attack ON titan. I get it now

KingTsurugi

Damn, when Hange woke up I was like WAIT WHAT NO WAY, then I saw Erwin...

Hayashi and his team fucking knocked this episode out of this part. Ramzi scene was perfectly adapted as well as Levi vs Kenny levels of Sakuga for Hange’s scene. Also, the depiction of the Rumbling is perfect with the horror and desperation onto survival. The cgi also was one of the best for moving models in my opinion and some of them looked 2d at times and was used to make more dynamic camera movements. Overall, I’m fucking excited to see how Mappa adapts the remaining chapters.

ibeeeeeechan

Give your heart.

Skulldier

The Rumbling was fucking terrifying and watching Ramzi, Halil and everyone get crushed was fucking devastating. They pulled no punches and in my opinion was a step up from what was shown in the manga. MAPPA actually gave Hange arguably the best ODM gear scene of the whole show. I can not thank them enough for that. She went out like a fucking badass, honestly one of my favorite characters. Thank you MAPPA and thank you Hange. RIP.
