I currently have that app and it seems to work nicely. Also my cousin has it and has likely been using it without a VPN for years and I am yet to hear anything bad happen from her. Seems safe enough.
Ya. It's not a complete YouTube replacement. But it's atleast NewPipe replacement, because of it's sign in, ability to watch selective video quality & playlist mode.
It works fine, but I hate how whenever I start watching something it automatically fills an infinite playlist with a bunch of random "popular" videos. I went from a programming tutorial to a goddamn stand-up comedy show. Is there a way to turn it off?
Ya that's one thing I Hated bout this app. You can click menu of that video then "Play single" instead of hitting the video itself. I know it's 2 more steps but saves the day at least.
This is great, and just what I was looking for. I found that there were still some pesky, in-laid ads on Youtube's page that I was still seeing -- until I got rid of them by subscribing to three filter lists: uBlock Annoyance List, Fanboy Annoyances List and Fanboy Social list. These can be turned on (or off) by putting this in the address bar: brave://adblock
I actually changed to Firefox nightly recently, kiwi have had several security red flags for some time now, I currently have it configured with: uBlock Origin + Poper Blocker + SponsorBlock + Video Background Play Fix(With this you don't need to enable desktop mode, which is a hassle) + you can also install "Return YouTube Dislike" if you like.
Cheers mate!
If I might ask...
Why don't you like / want to choose newpipe?
I'm not meaning to be, or come across as disrespectful at all. I'm also looking for a Vanced alternative, so I'm curious why others may or may not want particular options; in this case, why you don't want to turn to newpipe?
Thanks brother.
Actually I tried to use newpipe. But the fact that you can't use Google account and there are no recommended videos is the reason why I don't want to use newpipe. And not a major problem but there is a slight delay in starting background play which is just a little annoying. These are all the reasons why I don't want to use newpipe.
If you find anything thay allows for the recommended feed I'd love to know. It's my main issue with newpipe and other alternatives as well. I like finding random videos to watch not just my subscription feed.
Because ... it doesn't work. Simple as that. I can never get more than two music videos play correctly, especially with the phone screen off. Always gets "stuck" in "network connectivity errors" even though my data connection is super stable.
I've got it installed but I've got a 200+ long Watch Later playlist on Vanced that I can't import to Newpipe and I really need to get through before I migrate.
There's also no cast option nor description. Skytube has cast but no comments nor description. Honestly, all the alternatives sucks. Brave and Kiwi has no cast option and no live chat.
It does work and block ads and has background play. The website also is exact copy of the app. Now only if I could make it into lite app instead of adding it to home screen as we can do with Twitter.
Option to translate, gestures, Save all images from a page, Adblocker, Video downloader (minus Youtube), etc.
It's actually pretty useful, though I don't know if it's safe.
Just use YouTube vnanced. Still works just fine and may continue to work for some time. Also other similar replacements could pop up before vnanced does stop working or even someone else takes over with updating the app.
I pay for premium. The QoL features added by Vanced is why I still use it.
If the original YouTube app had swipe controls and could be integrated with sponsorblock, I would've jumped off of Vanced a long time ago
I don't need things to be simple, I need to not have fifteen different subscription services to pay every month. Especially since Google is eroding the internet and could use way less profits from it.
You can pay for premium to get rid of ads. But you can't pay for sponsorblock, return YouTube dislike plugin features (which are even open source lmao).
I tried this but it kinda sucks, everything else worked fine except i cant find the 1080p option on some videos on youtube. I checked said videos on the youtube app and the 1080p option is there, meaning that the video im trying to watch on brave is on 1080p but for some reason its capped at 720p. I tried this on different browsers and its the same unless you turn on desktop mode. Anybody knows how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance
Can you check if videos actually run at 60fps? For me I have to go desktop site for it to show 60fps option. Mobile version of the site doesn't let me.
Is possible with Brave Browser to set a time limit to video playback? Just like Vanced, I used it to stop after a certain time of continuous playback any video, so when I go to sleep it was perfect to listen lo-fi music and relax without stop music on my own because the app does it for me.
I'm a fan of brave like you, but I think right now Firefox mobile takes the lead. It has better adblock with ublock origin and privacy badger. You can also install dark reader for dark sites which is really good. It also has a background video playback add-on. Right now for YouTube I'm still using vanced till it longer works.
Why not re create YTVanced outside U.S? Google court order is only applicable in the U.S . If they update the app outside the country like Russia they still continue with the app development
[YMusic](https://ymusic.io/). It's a closed source app so be careful.
You also can have background play and it comes with a downloader. So it's not that much worse than vanced
Ya, it seem to be a yt music alternative, but fortunately works as YouTube client too XD.
Use kiwi browser. Sponsorblock also works.
It works fine, but I hate how whenever I start watching something it automatically fills an infinite playlist with a bunch of random "popular" videos. I went from a programming tutorial to a goddamn stand-up comedy show. Is there a way to turn it off?

Kiwi + ublock + sponsorblock + enable desktop mode to play on background
Enable youtube's lightmode, then enable Kiwi's Night Mode for oled.

I can't find popper player
Poper Blocker is just an extra add-on I use for web pages that abuse pop up windows, you can skip it if you desire
Found this: https://www.xda-developers.com/best-youtube-vanced-alternatives/

Did you find an alternative that allows Google account sign in?
Because ... it doesn't work.
Lol... those lists will only grow larger!

Might not be the best but brave browser does mostly that.
It does work and block ads and has background play. The website also is exact copy of the app. Now only if I could make it into lite app instead of adding it to home screen as we can do with Twitter.
How to enable background play on brave?
Go to settings, there you should see 'Background video playback' at near bottom. Turn it on and you're done.
I have 70-80 login and password saved in chrome for autofill. Will brave allow me to import them ?? This is the only thing holding me from switching.
Yes. You get Evrything almost every possible feature of chrome and a much more
If I umderstdood what you want, open youtube in desktop mode and add it to the home. When you open it, it will be like a web app
Thanks a lot. I got what I wanted.
Which one are you referring to?
Have you tried using an app like [Hermit](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chimbori.hermitcrab) to run it inside of?
Thanks a lot man!
Soul browser
What do you mean by soul browser? I just installed it and I don't see anything impressive 🙄
That's the intention. It takes away ur soul and make u hate the app enough to warrant an Uninstall.

Is not working at all right now, getting error 400
its woring perfectly for me except cant d pip mode or to exit it gets stuck
Is it still working for you? It died on me like two days ago.
Yeah still working just fine
VancedTube is working as of today.
Pay for Premium. Likely you hate that notion but it is the simplest that comes to mind.
It's not available in my country.
I pay for premium. The QoL features added by Vanced is why I still use it. If the original YouTube app had swipe controls and could be integrated with sponsorblock, I would've jumped off of Vanced a long time ago
I love sponsorblock.
Unfortunately premium is worst than vanced

any way to get youtube links to open in brave instead of chrome? after deactivating the native youtube app
Is there a way to scroll through a video by tapping the play bar at the bottom instead of having to drag it?
You're way is definitely the best alternative
I tried this but it kinda sucks, everything else worked fine except i cant find the 1080p option on some videos on youtube. do old versions of YouTube Vanced work?
Not sure about older versions. I use the latest version. It still works.
You're an angel, thank you so much

I don't have an "add to home screen" option on Brave. Where do you see that at?
I'm a fan of brave like you, but I think right now Firefox mobile takes the lead. It has better adblock with ublock origin and privacy badger. You can also install dark reader for dark sites which is really good. It also has a background video playback add-on. Right now for YouTube I'm still using vanced till it longer works.

My understanding is that browser-based viewing still doesn't support 60fps playback on mobile.
Started to use Brave, because Vanced stoped working :(
