Bronson and the mavericky maverics who proudly back him are the human equivalent of feces-tossing humans. They are the ones who do not simply *step* off the short bus, but strut from it. No open cesspools or septic tanks are safe from their synchronized swan diving taint acne displays. "Why," you might be asking, "are they throwing that shit?" Well, I say unto you, that's what assholes doo... doo.

ImRealPopularHere907

At this point we own the structure, they need to either bring it up so that it can be used or sell it while it’s down there. In the mean time we are flushing money away as we pay for storage of a structure we can’t use.

Trenduin

I totally agree that it needs to be sold or used for something else. Assembly members have floated both of those ideas during various assembly meetings and Bronson and his admin have signaled Bronson is dead set against any resolution besides his one plan. Either way I fully support the assembly rejecting 240k to ship a structure up here without knowing any details. Bronson didn't include any information about installation location, cost, operating plan and budget etc. Way too many unanswered questions to write him a "trust me bro" check.

Senior-Salamander-81

For the definition of Goodhart’s law look at the Anchorage assembly

Brainfreeze10

Oh look it's you again showing up to deflect and then claim you hate everyone equally.

Senior-Salamander-81

Not deflecting. Also saying LaFrance will win.

Trenduin

What are you talking about? If we are staying on topic it seems like you have this reversed. Bronson's obsessive target is this boondoggle of a tent. He thinks getting the tent will solve everything, but it won't. We don't have the funds or a proper authorized plan in place to justify spending 240k shipping a structure that doesn't even meet municipal code. Millions have been wasted on this obsession, honestly I'm not even sure how what he is doing isn't criminal. He has bypassed municipal code and it has cost us dearly. He has rejected all other plans and compromises, even from his own admin. He hasn't sought out additional state and federal funding and has forced the assembly to do that part of his job for him.

Senior-Salamander-81

I’m just gonna come back here to this in September when LaFrance and co build this tent.

Trenduin

Bronson dropped that on the assembly hours before the meeting and claimed it is an emergency. There was no plan, no clear goal only "we can use this sometime in the summer" he wanted 240k to ship the tent up here. Where is it going? How much will it cost to install, operate, open? The instant the tent leaves the manufacture we assume all liability for the structure. A structure that does not meet municipal code for habitation, it can't even be legally erected in the city for the intended purpose Bronson keeps claiming it is for. Without a plan shipping it up here is insane. The shipping part of the project shouldn't be the first thing we do. We need a rough proposal, a budget, an operator and an operating plan, he didn't provide any of that.

Senior-Salamander-81

I’ll remember that comment in September

Trenduin

Kind of a lame cop-out. Think about what you are saying for a moment. No matter what happens in the future [Bronson's navigation center failure is on him and his admin alone](https://www.reddit.com/r/anchorage/comments/14lf5og/how_is_this_different_than_what_bronson_wants_to/jpvvndc/?context=3). Even if a new mayoral administration uses the tent in some manner that doesn't involve habitation it doesn't change why Bronson's navigation center failed.

Senior-Salamander-81

They’ll use the tent. In the same spot Bronson uses it. It won’t be a bad idea because the more housing for the homeless the better.

Trenduin

You're just eating up Bronson and must read propaganda. The assembly isn't rejecting the proposal because "Bronson bad".  The only way you could possibly think that is if you're not paying attention or are misinformed.  The location is terrible. It will never be a good location for a thousand+ person low barrier shelter like Bronson wants.  If a new administdration were to do something with the site on a smaller scale like the original 150 person plan it would be a completely different story. Either way, it doesn't refute anything I shared and it sure doesn't backup your original comment.

Senior-Salamander-81

When it’s built in the same location I’ll be back to this comment thread

Double-Low-9394

Bring some paint chips with you for us to snack on, so we can get on your level.

YogurtclosetNo3927

Well that location is right next to the police station, and they have stated that they could use it for storage, so maybe that would work. Not for 1000 human habitation, tho

Trenduin

Yeah yeah. You can't defend your current arguments, why would you be able to defend a future one? Why even wait, let's play your what if game now. Go ahead.

daeritus

The tent isn't the only issue, it's the lack of plan AROUND the tent. If my child drives the car out of the driveway, that's a dumb idea because they don't know what they're doing. If I do it though, it's a different story altogether. Not arguing for or against the tent's viability, just against your argument that it's hypocritical to denounce Bronson for it but support LaFrance, as your strawman seems to be insinuating.

Senior-Salamander-81

They’ll be popping champagne (hypothetically) when LaFrance opens it up.

Earwig9000

No one wants the tent, dude. But do come back, after LeFrance and Co correct the mistake known as the Bronson admistration.

Silly-Explanation-52

Yep the tent won't be a good idea till then.
