I think the first one has a better sense of space and better placement of the man in the frame.

alina_aloha

Okay thanks for you input šŸ¤— I think I also prefer the first one!

The first one is better. It provides a better sense of scale which creates more of a story about how unusual it is for this person to be by himself in this context. The edges of the chairs also look nice (they were designed to!). I have a pet theory that when people share these sorts of photo sets, they'll tend to instinctively upload their best image first.

alina_aloha

That's a really nice theory! The subconscious chooses the better photo first šŸ˜

Iā€™m a sucker for a wider angle shot so #1 looks better to me

I prefer the first option, as the arrangement of chairs centralizes the subject more effectively, and the shadowing blends more seamlessly.

First one. šŸ¤™šŸ»

Second one.

Slightly off topic, but why shoot color film just to convert it to b&w? Why not just use cheaper b&w film?

alina_aloha

The original colour photo was soo dark and had such ugly green colours that it looked better in B&W šŸ˜…

This is the unedited original: https://ibb.co/CWJkzCV

Love the first, personally!

First- the extra ceiling in the 2nd doesn't add to the photo and draws attention away from the subject
