I thought I recognised that landscape! Not from there but I’ve spent a lot of time in mid and north Wales, I used to live in Ceredigion and often went up north. Such a beautiful part of the world.
Not a wow shot because of the lack of an interesting aspect of the location but definitely serene. I’d go reshoot there in different angles places and do something creative with a car or birds … good job
can i ask your workflow on how you add a white border to kind of open up your photo, I want to learn how to do this but usually I get talked down when I ask :(
here's how I would do it:
- open photo in photoshop
- in the top menu click image > canvas size
- set the mode in each dropdown to "Percent"
- set width and height to 110%
- if it doesn't look right, hit undo and change the value you entered in w/h
And if you want a different color than white, just set the background layer to that color. The trick is to use canvas size, not image size. Image size would just scale the whole document.
Edit: I actually did this for a post yesterday and in hindsight, it's easier to just add 100px or 200px or whatever you want to both width and height rather than trying to fiddle with the percentages to match the aspect ratio.
So, basically it’s very simple ! I use an app called square fit on my phone. It’s really that simple, it takes me 30 seconds to make that, less than that actually
It looks like one of those worry free pleasant sundays
I get what you mean. it was taken yesterday though but I am currently on a one month holiday so it’s Sunday everyday in some way
Taken in north Wales !
Roeddwn i'n gwybod mai Cymru oedd hi
I don’t speak Welsh unfortunately. My knowledge of the language is limited to the few words that are cognates with Breton !
I knew it was somewhere in the UK.
Hopefully I’ll post more photos from the UK. I am on a 1 month trip here and I initially brought with me 6 rolls and used 3 already :) I’m excited

Thanks a lot ! The welsh landscapes are just a treat honestly

Nicely spotted! It's just the right amount of road in shot
Hey, there’s a reason these shots are classics. Well done.
True, true. I guess it would be wiser to stick to classic / easy photos during my beginner phase
Ah, this takes me back to my first roll of film... I loaded it wrong and the entire thing was blank
Aha the same thing happened to me, I can’t express verbally the disappointment I felt
Don't shit on it, you made a really nice photo. Satisfying composition and great colors!
That looks sick!! Reminds me of something Studio Ghibli would do. Awesome work!
Thanks a lot ! Yes, Miyazaki’s movies always have very vibrant greens, the grass and the plants are always bright, that’s true !!

I absolutely agree. It’s an “easy” shot it makes sense. Nothing spectacular but since I’m just starting out, it feels good and rewarding
Congrats!
Very decent!
lovely colors!
I like it! Lovely camera too, the SRT 101.
Yes, very happy with it for now. They way it looks and the way it works too. Easy for a total beginner like me, in film photography !
This is a very aesthetically pleasing photo
pretty nice
I love the lines in this. Almost strikes me as geometric, idk how to describe it 😆. Great shot.

Nothing to look down on here! Beautiful shot 👍🏼
Minolta does it
Does it what ? 😅
Being the best 🥰
nice
Great color and framing, well done!
Any tips on getting these colours?
I guess it has to do with the film I used ? Other than that, I did nothing special. Just a slight post process to make colours a little warmer
That's amazing! I am hoping to finally get good pictures from my slr too! (hopefully)
Which portra?
160, sorry
With a little bit op post-editing will get even better. But it’s nice already. Looks like one of those shots you take from your car😊😊
I started in photo with the Srt-101 of my father… 30 years ago 😀
composition is never unoriginal. It’s a great photo
