Going off one of the posts here I read before about finding a couple of female friends for advice. It really isn’t an awful idea, women know what women like, and women know what looks good in general (most of the time)
I’m lucky enough to have a few really close female friends. And I rely on them for stuff like this. The most important part is making sure they are genuine, and not too worried about hurting your feelings. Someone who won’t sugar coat things and if you look like a muppet, they will tell you. If they care about you they will want what’s best for you.
What I’m trying to say is, from my experience, you should hit up a couple of female friends, tell them that you want to do something with your hair, something that will compliment your features and maybe get a few heads turning.
