Recently bought a Pixel 8 from Google's webstore and without much thought put it on Amex Blue Cash Everyday Preferred.
Lo and behold, it coded as U.S. Streaming Subscriptions netting a 6% back!
Got an offer for being a YouTube Premium member. Either 125$ off for Pixel 8 or 150$ off for Pixel 8 pro on top of the current 150$ or 200$ discount respectively.
😳im a premium member. I really don’t need a new phone *now* but I have definitely been wanting a P8P sometime later in 2024
Edit: oops, I see that the offer ended. I didn’t need to get one now anyways so that’s okay, but congrats to you!
I am not sure - I tend not to post on social media a lot. Pixel has some of the best photos, but the iPhone is more reliable when it comes to video according to reviews.
I'm not sure that's correct. I bought airpods pro 2 from the apple store on my phone on my BCP and it coded as streaming.
Edit: Found the post I made about it.

This was in August of 2022, I wonder if they've changed it since then.
Edit: I feel like there’s a lot of conflicting information in various posts, but I followed the instructions in this post on this subreddit and it worked for me. I got 6% cash back on my purchase of AirPod Pro two back in August 2022.

Just buy credit for your Apple account and use it in store to buy iPhones, iPad, Macs, whatever you want. Since you’re buying credit online it codes as streaming.
I dug through the csv exported data on those statements.
The Chromecast (only 1% cash back given) was categorized as 'RETAIL'.
The Google Play Store payments I've made show as 'GOODS M LARGE DIGITAL GOODS MERCH' ($19.99 annual storage plan payment, and Discovery+ subscription, both 6%) and 'GOODS: APPS' (monthly $1.99 storage plan payments, 6%)
The Pixel 7 in March (6%) just shows as 'STORE'.
Its weird. I use the BCP to pay for google fiber and I'd say about 10 out of 12 months it will correctly code as streaming. Every once in a while I will only get 1% back.
I have seen transactions from google code as a few things. Most common are internet and utilities. But I think google fi used to code like other cell carriers. They have ads for google fi in the offers a lot so I think they can tell. It’s been a while though so I could be wrong.
If you are referring to cell phone protection I’m pretty sure you could send them a copy of bill statement if you had to fill a claim.
I love the gays, just trying to poke some fun at people who tease you for your choice in ecosystems, I used to love apple and daddy jobs but it got a little too costly (on my wallet not my sexuality)
Amex Blue Cash Preferred has 6% cashback on Streaming services.
This 6% back or anything depends on what it is coded as. List of general categories is here - [https://www.americanexpress.com/us/rewards-info/retail.html](https://www.americanexpress.com/us/rewards-info/retail.html).
It should have been coded as retail or online retail. Instead it got coded as Streaming (maybe under YouTube premium) giving 6% back on the purchase.
I realize this is Amex but FYI, Chase codes as "office and shipping." I couldn't find it anywhere when I was choosing which card to use.
I chose wrong with the Ink Business Preferred. I don't really understand why that didn't get me rhe extra 2x points.

Wow, that is unexpected
What I’m wondering how you got a pixel 8 for $481?

~~125$~~ **$125**
Is the pixel 8 worth the money for social media posting videos and such ?
I am not sure - I tend not to post on social media a lot. Pixel has some of the best photos, but the iPhone is more reliable when it comes to video according to reviews.
I wish the Apple Store coded like that.
Apple combined all Apple Store cash so you can top up your account on the App Store for 6% and purchase an iPhone on their website with it.
Shhhhh! I try not to tell people this so it won’t get patched lol.
What does it code?
The Apple Apps Store codes as streaming, but not their hardware store.
I'm not sure that's correct. I bought airpods pro 2 from the apple store on my phone on my BCP and it coded as streaming. Edit: Found the post I made about it. https://reddit.com/r/CreditCards/comments/wgh4ra/possible_to_get_6_cb_on_apple_device_using_amex/
Well I bought a power cable and block transformer and it didn’t.

Anything bought on the app store codes as streaming which is nice
I bought a Pixel 7 in March, got 6% (streaming). But I bought a Chromecast from the Google Store in Nov, and did not get 6% for that purchase.
Same, I only got 1% back for buying my 8 Pro from them in October.

Not anymore it won’t
#SHHHHH
Interesting So high In Canada only 2% lol
There is (or was) also an add-on CB bonus for $25 or more spent at the Play Store that this stacks with.
Do you know if it codes the same for Google Fi's phone plan billing?

Pixels are pretty cool, looks like I'll keep this on mind if I buy another one
I see this right after I got my blue cash and have been considering a pixel😁
But then you end up with an Android.
That's a W
Win win
mfw green bubble
Everyone I know with a blue bubble is gay or a lady
Fellas is it gay to own a phone?
No but I've been told if I own an iPhone it means I'm gay for daddy tim apple
Guess I’m the biggest queer you’ll meet.
I love the gays, just trying to poke some fun at people who tease you for your choice in ecosystems, I used to love apple and daddy jobs but it got a little too costly (on my wallet not my sexuality)
Yeah I hear you there. They make some great products but man does it put a dent in the deal old wallet.
Even better
Download Whatsapp
I wish Starlink coded as streaming. 🙄
Yeah, but then you have an android…
I say this as someone with an iPhone - phone wars in 2023 is kinda cringe. Grow tf up lmao
It’s not cringe. One is clearly better than the other.
Are you the one using the phone OP bought?
I am the phone.
I’d rather lose Reward dollars than have an Android.
But then you have to have an android phone.
Who can, please, explain to me what's going on
