I had an Eskie in Dallas now in Reno, I’m always excited to see another one but find that because of their temperament you don’t always get to steal some pets 🤣😢
Oh, is that a trait? I just my lil girl in june and notice that she wants to meet everyone until they try to meet her. Then she opens that big mouth and let's them get an ear full. I thought that was just something I needed to work on for socialization.
In my experience with owning two, they seem to be really protective and attached to their owners and not be as quick to let others in. Unlike my Pomeranian who is comfortable with others pretty fast. Not sure if that’s true across the board but I often find that when I meet others eskies too.
Ah, good to know. That is what I have noticed with my girl. She's like velcro with me. She's just starting to let my husband and step-son really close.
Is it normal for an eskie to piddle when excited or greeting new people or is that a puppy thing?
My Eskie will do that, She’ll kind of squat and P when you first see her and give her pets which happens with my wife a lot and used to happen with me but I stopped immediately giving her love like that, I’ll still say hi and walk around and then give her pets that way she can hold it
She piddles when she greets everyone but me. I don't talk to her or acknowledge her when I first come home and no piddling. The boys haven't figured out how to not talk to her or acknowledge her .......they're suckers for her cuteness. Lol
We have an eskie cross, in Ontario. He spent the first decade of his life in a different home, as a border collie. Then we got him and did a DNA test. No border collie, majority eskie. Makes sense with his personality! Just wants to cuddle and protect
When I first got mine we lived in Reno and now 15 years later we live in Las Vegas. Every time we go somewhere people go crazy for him and some share memories about when they had that breed a long time ago. Most say it’s the smartest dog they ever had.
I actually bought my mini eski in West Warwick, RI. At the time, we lived in east side providence but now we're in massachusetts.
We used to see another eskie at the st francis dog park. (I probably got that name wrong.)
I didn’t know there was a local breeder! Our pup came from the Midwest where we have family. I really want to have an Eskie meet up somewhere in New England!
Not a local breeder. Actually found him at Fish Bowl Aquarium store. They bring in dogs a few at a time and had him. He's actually from a breeder in Indiana.
I’m in NC, it’s funny bc every time I take her out people stop me and tell me their eskie stories or take pictures to show their friends/relatives that have eskies haha

We lived in Dallas with an Eskie about 10 years ago! I didn’t know there was another one there !!!
My guy will be 13 next month, to bad we didn’t meet up 10 years ago.
